When I use Windows Live Photo Gallery to edit and view pictures its slow to respond and freezes up, especially when I "delete" a photo. When I use Windows Photo Viewer there are no issues. But with Windows Photo Viewer and I cant edit so I have to use Live Photo Gallery.I reinstalled it and still having the same issue. Other photo editing software such as XnView do not have this problem, but I would prefer to use WLPG.
When i copy my photos from my SD card onto my laptop and then edit them using Windows 7 live photo gallery, the photos saves all my edits and then disappears from the folder. This is so annoying and was wondering whether anyone has come across this issue? Im using a Lenovo G570 laptop with I5 2nd generation processor with 6GB DDR3 ram. My question is where did all my photos go after editing them? and why did it happen?
No matter how many times I direct WLPG to gather photos from my photo library, none of them ever appear in WLPG. I can open them directly with WLPG from the file folder, but I cannot edit them in WLPG.I have a feeling this has something to do with permsissions, but I cannot figure out what that would be.If this is the wrong place for this, I apologize, but ask to be directed to the right place.
Every time I upload photos to my external drive using windows live photo gallery, when I move the external drive to another computer, I can't read the files due to some sort of default read protection placed on the uploaded files. I can't figure out how to make photo gallery make all the photos un-readonly.
I currently use Windows Live Photo gallery to edit and organise my photos. Its worked fine until recently.. after editing a photo yesterday I clicked on the arrow button to move onto the next image and as usual a dialogue box popped up telling me it was saving the changes made to the photo and I could click to revert to the original at any time. I moved onto the next image but realised that I'd forgotten to do something and clicked to go back, but the image had gone. I've searched through all my photos and looked in my recyle bin, but the image is nowhere to be found. I may be missing something obvious of course, but I'm scratching my head to know what has happened.
Using Windows Live Photo Gallery, I find that if I wanted to 'Send' photos to my external drive, a message appears stating " Cannot find folders - they might have been deleted.....etc. True, I have sent some photos to my external drive, but why are the photos stll showing when I first bring up Windows Live Photo Gallery?
( I am trying to send ALL of my photos to external storage)
my computer is running Windows 7 - 64 bit 3gb. 14 months old.About 5 days ago it started running very slow, programmes were not responding. My hard disc is not a quarter full and I have checked that discs don't require fragmenting. Icons on the task bar disappear and I get black screens. Start up is ok, but shutting down is slow. I mentioned to my son that windows photo gallery live, is particularly slow at loading (at most I only have about 250 pics in) but to my horror, when he had a look, he clicked on the "video's" and there are literally 10,000 pics or icons (for instance dozens of ebay icons - Nero Icons - AOL icons and many others) that I know nothing about. When the problem first started I did a manual AVG full scan which showed 350 warning, 43 potentially dangerous objects - all the warning were tracking cookies through Firefox. I only look at facebook with Firefox and 2 days ago a manual full scan revealed 45 warnings with about 6 potentially dangerous objects, tracking cookies.
Suddenly I have a yellow border around windows live photo gallery, and the photos have a yellow tint to them. This has happened in the last week and I have done a search, but not come up with any solution.
To uninstall all the installed programs that were included in Windows Live Essentials, I went to control panel > Programs & Features and selected Windows Live Essentials. Then repair/uninstall. I choose to remove the features listed and choose all but Mail. I got many error messages and error numbers, so I decided to delete them one at a time. This worked perfectly until I reached the program in the title above. This is what appeared: We couldn't remove the selected program. Unknown error occurred. Error: 0x80070645 Source: SQLLite. What does the named error mean and what does SQLLite have to do with WLE? That program is the one I wanted to remove most, because it's taken over opening Slide Shows and than fails to work.
I've been trying to use my Windows live Gallery for a few days now. I love the feature and of course as soon as I default to it I get an error the full error message is Windows live photo gallery encountered an error and can't start Error code: 0x80070057
I recently purchased a new Lenovo. I use Windows live photo gallery to import my photos from my iphone. Worked just fine until I recently upgraded to the new iphone 4S. Now when I import the photos, I cannot do anything with the photos. Can't save, rotate, edit. I had no idea except to reinstall the Windows operating system. I brought the computer home to see if it was the phone...no. I emailed one of the pics from Windows Live to another device..there's nothing wrong with the pics on another device.
Some of my photos are displayed in a sort of low resolution!
I have downloaded and installed Windows Live Photo Gallery and use its screen-saver in Pan and zoom with medium speed. Many photos are excellently displayed but some are displayed in a very coarse resolution. These photos are displayed normally in other applications.
One for example is 4,15 MB width 10066 pixs and height 2619 pixs ( a panorama). I have tried to re-sample to a smaler size but the problem remains.
Using the Google screensaver they display normally, but I like the pan effect in Live Photo Gallery better.
wondering is there any way to set the timer/settings for live photo gallery? just found out it can be set as screensaver, but for video, is around 10 seconds only,
I have had a problem with my Gateway NV73 laptop where I would get a BSOD whenever I was viewing video on the internet, viewing pictures in my photo editing program and now after about 5 minutes of just using the internet. The BSOD would come up in a square in the center of the screen and dissappear within seconds. Then the system would still show the power light as on but a blank screen and unresponsive. I would press and hold power button until shutdown and try to restart but only the fan sound was working but nothing else. And after about 30 to 40 minutes later it would boot up just fine, but would then crash after minutes of using it. I tried to get the info needed from the dump files but I literally had to do the whole process stated above many times and I saved the minidump files to my network drive so I could post this on my desktop computer.
Gateway Laptop Model NV73 AMD processor 3GB Ram Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM Laptop is about 17 months old
I attached a text file with the contents of one of the minidump files.
i have just upgraded my pc to win7Ultimate and i absolutely love it but i would l like to have vista's windows photo gallery. I have the files but i dont know how to install it.
is there an existing technique that can make me install Windows Photo Gallery, not the one with the Windows Live Essentials thing???? I am using Windows 7.I installed Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Movie Maker many months ago but I am more satisfied with Windows Movie Maker 2.6 and the Windows Photo Gallery that came with Vista. I hate the Windows Live thing cause it also comes with stuff like Windows Skydrive Upload Tool and Windows Sign in Assistant. Windows Live Photo Gallery is more laggish than Vista's Windows Photo Gallery. And I don't even like how Windows Live Movie Maker works and looks., is there some way I can install Windows Photo Gallery on Windows 7 without Windows Live Essentials?
I want to import only a few pictures from my digital camera to my Photo Gallery. I have already imported all the rest in my camera and do not want to import them again.
I use the Windows Live Photo Gallery screensaver, ticked for 'photos and video from...'. When it runs, photos are fine but videos show with a grayed out media file icon. These are just simple .avi files that play with media player, vlc, or whatever.
Now, I understand that once you install the Skydrive PC program, you get a folder on the desktop. Whatever is in that desktop folder, however the contents are organized--that's what gets synched up to the SkyDrive Interwebs.which means that my entire photo collection, all 13GB of it, needs to be copied into the desktop SkyDrive folder. Now, I also have a Windows Live Photo Gallery on here- never used. But I see on there, that there is a thing that says 'publish to SkyDrive.' Does that mean if I hit the button, they are automatically copied there? So I don't have to dupe my collection? I pushed the 'Publish to SkyDrive' button, and it appears grayed out.
I know of the Windows Live services. When I couldn't get Windows Photo Gallery from Vista x64 working in Windows 7 x64 I installed the live version of Photo Gallery. Is there any way to get the old live version of Photo Gallery working in Windows 7 x64?I've tried both the version in Program Files and the version in Program Files (x86).I tried regsvr32 on all the files but that didn't help. When I click theWindowsPhotoGallery.exe nothing happens. I looked in process monitor and I can't see where if anywhere something goes wrong.I know it's possible with Windows Movie Maker from Vista to get it working on Windows 7.
I have Windows 7 -64 bit operating system, I have just set up Windows Live Mail and created my signature but I can't figure out how to insert my photo in my signature line. I can't find a place to choose using my own letterhead either.
Is there a way to send a photo (Jpg) as an attachment using Windows Live Mail the same way as Outlook Express would do? When I try to send a photo as an attachment it is sent in an album using SkyDrive (What ever that is). I can sent word files OK, but not photos.
I posted about an hour ago about my email and now it has crashed. It won't open so I figure I need to re-install, delete and re-install, or just delete it and get another email program. I have Windows Live email. It has been working find for a couple of months and now it just won't open.
Is there any photo editing software comparable to the old Adobe PhotoDeluxe. I have tried Gimp, Picasso and paid for other versions of Adobe. None are as user friendly and have the editing tools that PhotoDeluxe had.
Explorer won't update thumbnails after I alter a photo, for example by rotating sideways photos (that is, permanently rotating, using a photo editor program), or by cropping.
How do I get the thumbnails to update?
This is happening for all photos (not just certain ones).
I have tried:
- View > Refresh
- Copying the photos to a new folder and renaming them. Even if a photo has been drastically cropped, the thumbnail is still showing the original, whole one - that is, it's showing parts of the file that DON'T EVEN EXIST
- Entirely disabling the thumbnail cache: Group Policy Editor > 'Turn off caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files'. This *must* force Windows to redraw the thumbnail - but it doesn't!
- Restarting computer after each of the above steps
Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. Photos are jpegs from a new digital camera.
my win 7 photo viewer does the weirdest thing!! when i view my photos and rotate them and close the viewer, they disappear from my folder where they were originally stored in. i've checked my deleted items. no luck. searched whole pc for edited files and names of files that disappeared. no luck there either. i tested it on my hubby's pc. exact same result there.
I read through a few threads with similar topics but the issues were either not quite the same and/or resolved comparatively easily. I am trying to repair a 1.5 year-old HP Pavilion running Windows 7 Home Premium 64. This machine is used as the main office computer in a small doctor's office. In spite of my warnings, anti-virus software was not installed until it was too lateThere was a major issue about seven months ago that required another company to repairThe problem is explorer.exe will not run. Double-clicking a shortcut on the desktop, clicking the text name of a program from the Start menu, and even in the cmd results in the same response, a dialog box pops up stating windows explorer has stopped working.
windows is checking for a solution to the problem. followed by another box stating windows explorer is restarting. But the requested application never starts. I have run the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win, replaced the hard drive and cloned all data, run numerous registry scans, malware scans and antivirus scans. Initially removing over 1500 virus/malware hits and over 1400 registry errors. But the main problem persists, explorer.exe won't open programs.
