Wireless Keyboard Doesnt Work

1.) I've been (since I got the custom-built PC about a year ago) been using a wireless keyboard; the adapter is USB-connectable. All USB ports respond if/when I attach a device.
2.) I don't know the name of the "port," but where you'd normally plug-in any keyboard (6-pins, 1 square center pin, almost circle-shaped plug), I get no response.
3.) I tried plugging-in a wired keyboard that I borrowed from a friend. I even bought a new Microsoft keyboard, thinking the borrowed one was damaged. I'm positive at this point it's system/hardware-related.
4.) When I go into Device Manager and even view hidden devices, none of the drivers have that warning sign (yellow triangle + a "!" sign) by them. This indicates, to me at least, all my drivers are intact.

i have a Saitek Cyborg Gaming keyboard and everything worked fine until i spilled some water on it. the keyboard STILL WORKS after i let it dry out. the problem is it doesnt work on MY computer. im pretty sure its a driver issue. ive uninstalled all drivers for the keyboard and reinstalled. still no work. tried system restore to when it did work. still doesnt work. *Also the keyboard has gaming keys which are programed and still work. but normal keys dont. so im confused

Last night I was installing Worms 4, it told me I had to restart my PC after the installation, so I do, but when I restart I get a screen right after the boot menu that says it cannot "verify digital signature of this file." (sfsync02.sys) It then says at the bottom to hit either enter or esc, which would be great, except that my keyboard doesn't want to work on start up. It's always done this. It works fine once Windows has started (but I can't get it to start because I can't get past this screen), and it also works in the BIOS (but not the boot menu, or any of the other screens)
The error told me to repair the problem via my windows vista disc, which I tried, but it still takes me to the same screen and does not boot the vista disc in my disc drive. I've read elsewhere that particular file has to do with preventing copy right infringement on games, but it was a legit copy of the game, so what gives? Oh my keyboard plugs into the KB port and is not USB.

I have downloaded the cisco vpn client v 5.0.03.0390. I have a secondary internet connection at work which is wireless. When my laptop saw this connection it came up with a pop up that asked me if i wanted to connect, i did then it asked me if this was a work, home or public connection i labeled it as work. I have been testing on this work wireless connection and ran the cisco VPN client and it was able to
connect.
Now i got home and the same wireless configuration pop up came on, i setup my home wireless and it again asked me if it was a work, home or public connection i choose home. Also, i have WEP running on my home network. My cisco VPN client keeps coming back with the following error: "Secure VPN connection terminated locally by the client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding"........

My wireless mouse and keyboard no longer work. The mouse stoped working six mounths ago, and the keyboard a few days ago. I put in new batteries and read a couple of post on this forum. There are 5 listings under keyboards and thay all show to be working properly. There are 3 mouse and all show to be working properly.

I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse which work really well but when I reboot, the keyboard shortcuts that I have programmed don't work until I go into properties and click on them and then click ok. The keys then work ok until I reboot again.Is there any way that I can programme the changes so they are the default programmes whenever I reboot. The software loaded fine and I clicked on apply and save when I originally set the keys.....I have a HP Pavilion DV6700 Laptop with windows visa home premium which is about one month old.

Well i use vista basic and this USB keyboard just wont work. Ive reinstalled the driver, system restored, but still doesnt. It was working fine for months , but all of a sudden today it decided to not work.

Everything went ok on my new computer with vista for about 4 months, and all of a sudden one day the internet went down, so I thought it was the wireless receiver, so i got another and found out this wasnt the problem. It happens that windows doesnt list any of the existing networks as if the receiver didnt work, it says yhe wireless option isnt on and cant seem to turn it on. I also came across some wlansvc thing which might be the problem but havent found any resource or solution to my problem.

Last week I bought a new Acer Aspire 6350 w/ Vista - My 1st Vista machine. After uninstalling all the Acer bloatware, I open the GUI defragger, it analyzes C: for 2 secs (doesn't even mention analyzing the other 2 partitions) then it says "your file system performance can be improved". I defrag it the C:, it takes 45 mins or so and done. I go to my wife's Dell Vista laptop and go to the GUI defragger. It analyzes all 3 of her partitions. Weird, mine only analyzed C: for 2 secs. I then go back to my new Acer and run the GUI degragmenter again. After a 2 sec C: analysis it says "your file system......." again. Then when I go the command line defrag, run "defrag c: -a" it says I don't need to defrag. Bottom line is the GUI defragmenter doesn't work on this new laptop. It doesn't scan all partitions, when started it runs for a bit, then it just stops and it goes back to saying " your file system performance can be improved".

I installed o&o defrag x64 but the program's service which is /system32/oodag.exe didnt work. I tried to reinstall or start the service manually didnt work either. I use the latest installer. Has anyone had a problem like this??

i have just purchased by new machine which came with vista ultimate 64bit SP1 pre installed. the bit locker will not work as there is no TPM found is says a TPM is required to turn on bitlocker. i know you can use a flash drive every time you start up the machine but i dont want to do that. Does anyone know how i can get a TPM or know a solution - i read something about upgrading the bios but i dont know what bios i have!

I have installed the IntelliPoint 6.2 but it doesnt work. My Sony Vaio Vista recognizes the devices but I can??t move it or use it at all. When I go to its properties and click on Buttons the following message appears: "Some mouse settings might not work until you connect a Microsoft mouse to a USB port on your computer or set up a Microsoft mouse that uses Bluetooth technology."

I was given a wireless KB & mouse and I'm trying to find out if I can use it on Vista. The name of it is Eagle Touch multimedia pro XP. Obviously the XP part jumped out at me, I would like to know if it's compatible with Vista? My computer, Dell Inspiron 531 is almost a year old.

So, I'm having a problem, been having it since I built this new computer with Vista on it. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, Microsoft Wireless Desktop 4000 I think. However, when the computer goes to sleep for more than around an hour or so, it seems to cut off power to the usb wireless controller. All the lights go off, and the mouse and keyboard will not wake up the computer.
If I restart the computer, the lights come on, but it still won't recognize the mouse or keyboard. The only way to get the computer to recognize them again is to go into the bios, and move the curser around (they are are recognized there), then exit and continue booting up. I've played around with the power management setting, turning off everything I can find, but they still don't seem to work.

I need to get wife, who is bedridden with progressive MS, a laptop so she e-mail and skype with her friends. It will also keep her brain stimulated and away from watching tv all day. I was looking at one from HSN for $699 a Gateway,15.6,AMD Athlon II Dual Core,4GB ram, 320HD,Blu-ray Drive,and webcam but today I saw a Toshiba 15.6, Intel Core i3 proceesor,4GB ram, 320HD,webcam & micorphoneWiFi 802 for $699-$150 Instant savings at Fry's. I am looking for your input as to what is the better of the two or do you recommend something else. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard if she has trouble with her hand/eye coordination.

I have transfered my programs using the transfer companion beta. I had to change the language and locale to US English for that to work. But now lots of programs fail to open as Windows Installer throws a messge windows installer coudl not be accessed. I intsalled the windows iinstaller clean up utility and now i have this message when i try to open a program... I unplug AC and USB devices in order to work outside my working station... After some time, when I replug the laptop to AC and replug the USB devices they don't work... No mouse, no printer, no smart card, no usb at all. Also I can't restart the computer as it freezes, so I have to shut it down "violently". I noticed that this always occurs when the battery is under 50 %. But sometimes it happens even at higher percentages. I've installed sp2, I've disabled the USB selective suspend both in power options and in registry.

just changed motherboard to k8n sli platinum but now i cannot use my sata HDD , vista just wont boot when the disk is connected. it just keep on going forever in the boot up screen. but in linux , bart pe and other free dos program, it works just fine. i tried to formate it in all of these OS but still no way to boot in vista, i even cant boot from the vista disk with the HDD connected.
NOTE: i juse an IDE HDD to run my system, so the sata disk is just a storage HDD. if i leave the sata disk without any partition or format ,i can boot up in vista. but when i go to disk manager in vista and trie to formate it in vista, it just freez the program and i got to close the disk manager. but vista still work, next time i restart its back to the same , just staying forever on the boot up screen.

Vista x64 SP2 with 500GB Seagate SATA HDD. I can resume from standby, but it can take up to 10 minutes for it to work again. I believe it's the HDD not waking up (powering up) immediately when it resumes (S3 Hybrid Sleep).

I recently got an XBOX 360 controller for windows and connected the USB straight into my PC, 'installing new hardware' quickly arrived and it installed no problem. I can see it in the game controllers on the control panel and it says it is working. However, i loaded up call of duty world at war (which supports the controller) but it just doesnt work........

Windows mail successfully looks for and loads all mail when first launched but after that all attempts produce errors. I have to delete the program and reload each time to check for new mail. The check for new mail box is ticked by the way. And the Send/Receive button produces - the same result - all tasks failed.

I decided to do a clean install of Vista Home Premium, on a computer that hasn't had any problems running it. I reformatted the drive, did the install, and after several repeated attempts doing it, I did it one final time, and let it sit for 8 hours, hoping time would clear it up, it didn't. It boots as far as the screen that has the green progress bar on the bottom, then the screen goes blank, as if it suddenly stopped sending data to the monitor. Rebooting using safe mode yields an error that it cannot finish installing in safe mode. Graphics are via ATI x1900, but I'm also plugged into the onboard graphics, neither gives me anything. An attempt to install XP on it worked fine, so the hardware should all be fine. Is Vista running something in the background that takes endless hours, or is something seriously messed up here?

i recently got a new wireless Microsoft keyboard/Mouse combo. The mouse is too large for my hand. I do a lot of Photoshop and my hand is killing me, so I tried to install my old Logitec (comfortable) mouse. No go..I downloaded the newest Vista 64 bit drivers for both. The Microsoft keyboard has a stick-type USB. The Logitec mouse has a little USB thingie that sits on the desk. Only one of them will work at a time.I've tried every configuration I can think of and can't get them both to work at the same time. The thing is, when I got this new computer (with Vista) they both worked together fine..until I installed a new video card. Now they won't play nice together at all. I have an issue with Remote Assistance whenever someone sends me an invite through live I accept and it never launches the next window for me to see there screen and they never get the prompt. What I Have found thus far is that after a reboot it usually works and when it doesnt work I find msra.exe running in processes and as soon as I end the task it then comes up. This only happens on my Vista 64 Bit Ultimate Copy and doesnt happen at all with 32 Bit. I have DMZ on both firewalls off as well as on the PC and same results. and it is driving me crazy although I have a work around for the time being even though it is annoying
