I set up windows mail from a comcast.net email account. Now my comcast account doen't have any of the unread mail in the inbox, it says empty. Its all in windows mail. I cannot get my emails from anywhere but home. Windows mail srews up so much of my mail. Its a shame to get rid of Identities. HOw do i get all my mail back to my comcast account before i delete the windows mail accout without losing anymore of them?
View 5 RepliesI went to check my emails today and found that my whole email account had disappeared. I had not used the account since 20 Nov. In the interim I have renewed my Norton 360 and wondered if that may have caused the problem. I am using Vista. Anyway I followed the prompts for adding an account and reinput the original account details. This went ok and a load of new emails arrived but none of the old messages were showing. I then rebooted the system and the original account appeared with all the old messages but not the new ones. Now I can't find the new messages. Have I created a duplicate account, if so where is it and what do I do now? Can anyone help please?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI work for a school district and I am having trouble with one Vista Machine. This is only one of two Vista machines in the entire district. The problem is that using IE7 we can not connect to webmail (gmail) provided by our ISP. We just recently transfered over to gmail and had no problems with email prior to it. All other staff in the district can connect and use email with no problems. On the Vista machine I can connect using a different browser, no problems. I have tried resetting all settings in IE7 to the defaults. I have tried compareing the settings with the other Vista machine that does work. I have tried running in safe mode with networking, running without add-ons, smashing it with a hammer(not really), nothing works.
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently I moved two pieces of mail from my Inbox to a folder. There were 5 other pieces of mail in that folder and the count was 5. After moving the mail though the count went up to 7 but the mail did not appear in the folder. Is there any tool or any option or any edit in a folder and/or the Registry purhaps where I can straighten this out. It isn't imperative I recover the email but at a minimum I would like to fix the email count in the folder to be accurate once again. This is Windows Mail in Vista Ultimate 64-bit with all the Microsoft Updates.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have both Ourlook and Webmail and I don't get my emails at both account. How do I fix this?
They have Vista and Windows Mail with email through Telus. They were set up with an IMAP account but she was encountering problems with "mailbox too full". So I decided to switch her to POP3 not realizing that I had to do that through Telus not just through the Tools, Accounts area. I created a new POP3 account, deleted the IMAP account, when I realized that deleted all her messages from the inbox I deleted the POP3 account and recreated the IMAP account. Then I contacted Telus and found out they had to make the IMAP to POP3 change on their end. I saved the messages she wanted to keep and had Telus make the change.
I then deleted the IMAP account and created a new POP3 account and sent a test message to it. I checked the webmail and the message showed up in webmail but when I clicked send/receive the system checks for messages and says "no new messages" but the messages disappear from webmail. At no point do I get an error message...........

The day before yesterday I reset my POP3 password, and ever since then I have been receiving multiple copies of every email. I have three separate user accounts (let's call them Tom, Dick & Harry), with rules set up to put Tom's mail in a folder called 'Tom's Mail', etc. This has always worked just fine. But after I reset the password, I started getting three copies of each email. They still went to the correct folder, but I got three. As an experiment, I added a fourth user account (Bill), and now I get FOUR copies of every email, still going to the correct folders.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust as earlier post says...I too have, in just the past 2 days, begun to have something wacky going on with my Windows Mail. When I open, it receives and posts mesages in the appropriate folders so it is downloading the mesages and the count of how many in each folder. BUT, then the problems start...Sometimes, if I open the email and read it, then move to another folder with mail it deletes the emails just read in the first folder. Other times, it will delete the mail in one particular folder just as I click to open it and read them. I have already gone through and checked View---> Current View---Show All.
I have also watched carefully at the top right corner of my email and each of the 3 folders is marked "Show all Mesages". Nothing is marked to be "Hidden". I have also checked and re-checked the three message rules. The deleted mails are nowhere else to be found. It's now to the point where I may not even get to read them once deposited in the folder of my mailbox. One folder in particular is having the most problems.
Just bought a new laptop with Vista and I'm using Windows Mail. Sometimes in the middle of typing an email it automatically sends by itself. I'm as positive as I can be that I'm not accidentally hitting any key combinations to cause this like, "alt+s.
