View 7 RepliesI'm not sure why but all of a sudden when people try to send me pictures, they wont open. I get this message...Windows can not find "so and so" jpeg. Make sure you spelled it correctly and try again. Why is this happening all of a sudden? I can save the attachements and then open them on my desktop but it's a pain in the ass.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm getting the following error message when Windows Mail (Vista 64 Home Premium SP1) tries to send e-mails from my laptop: The connection to the server has failed. Subject ..., Account: 'verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. Downloading incoming mail is not a problem, and I obviously can post to newsgroups. Although this is a new problem, I turned off Norton's checking of outgoing mail - no change. Verizon had us change to Port 587 last year so that's not the issue either. WM does send e-mail from my desktop so apparently the problem is specific to the laptop.

I insert pictures, not attach them, in mails. When I look at the message the pictures are in the body of my e-mail, but when recipients open the mail there is a red cross in a white square instead of the picture and the picture is attached. There is a difference in the html code when I compare the one in the mail I send and the one from the received mail, Windows Mail "corrects" or "inserts" things in the code the moment I send it (that's what I can understand).

I have been online for over 8 yrs and on my XP i refused to use your server. Outlook and now i am finding that with my new Vista some things i am forced to use you for. like scanning pictures to send to others and if you dont have the right info input; you will be advised of a lot of error remarks...As long as you have been around; i think you should make your server more friendly user for people that are not pro's or experts..
