Pulls The Emails Off Charter
Mar 23, 2008
We got a new computer yesterday and so far not bad as far as setting up. The only problem I'm having which is taking hours to work on is that I use Incredimail. On my old computer, XP as with Vista we each have our own desktop (5 in the family) and we each have our own email account with charter, our high speed internet provider, With Incredimail it's just a service I guess the best way to describe it. It pulls the emails off charter and gives it to us by sync up. I don't know if I'm using the right terminology but hopefully you get the idea.
I went to Incredimail and downloaded from their site and we each have our own icons. On mine, it 's pretty much fine, I can get it and receive and send emails but the other 4 users cannot. I get this message all the time. Incredimail installtion is not complete you must reboot your computer before using Incredimail. I've rebooted at least half dozen times and at least 3 times I've unistalled and reinstalled the program.
I've called charter and spoke with a young man who says he just got Vista and he had some of the same problems (not necessarily with Incredimail) but only the administrator can use the programs and not any other users. My question is how can I get this program to work with all users? This is what I've tried.. I've tried to set them all as administrators and that only makes them get my emails not theirs. I've gone to control panel and users accounts to turn User Acct Control off.

I have Vista x64 and a HP DeskJet 820Cxi. Vista x64 has the driver for the printer in his database. I installed the driver and used the printer. But the printer only pulls the paper to the paper beginning in the printer. And nothing else happens. Thats all with the printer.

I can send and receive email from Charter Communications web site. I can receive email with Vista's Windows Mail. I cannot receive any emails.
This is an unusual occurrence as I have been using Windows Mail for a year now. Charter Comm. doesn't support Windows Mail and we have tried changing the outgoing mail server address. Nothing is working. The outgoing port is 25 for email.

I have been receiving this error message for the past few days when I try to send Emails. I have talked to my ISP and Email provider and all my settings are correct. I have also checked my security settings from Norton. The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read
the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

I am considering changing from TimeWarner to AT&T uverse. TW does not limit my email storage capacity. Does uverse?
What happens to my emails. Can I move to new Speed. Just ran speedtest.net and got 12.41 mb/s down and .49 mb/s up. Is that good and how does it compare to uverse?

I have been using Windows Mail for about 18 months without having this problem until now. The day before yesterday I reset my POP3 password, and ever since then I have been receiving multiple copies of every email. I have three separate user accounts (let's call them Tom, Dick & Harry), with rules set up to put Tom's mail in a folder called 'Tom's Mail', etc. This has always worked just fine. But after I reset the password, I started getting three copies of each email. They still went to the correct folder, but I got three. As an experiment, I added a fourth user account (Bill), and now I get FOUR copies of every email, still going to the correct folders.

Just as earlier post says...I too have, in just the past 2 days, begun to have something wacky going on with my Windows Mail. When I open, it receives and posts mesages in the appropriate folders so it is downloading the mesages and the count of how many in each folder. BUT, then the problems start...Sometimes, if I open the email and read it, then move to another folder with mail it deletes the emails just read in the first folder. Other times, it will delete the mail in one particular folder just as I click to open it and read them. I have already gone through and checked View---> Current View---Show All.
I have also watched carefully at the top right corner of my email and each of the 3 folders is marked "Show all Mesages". Nothing is marked to be "Hidden". I have also checked and re-checked the three message rules. The deleted mails are nowhere else to be found. It's now to the point where I may not even get to read them once deposited in the folder of my mailbox. One folder in particular is having the most problems.

I have had this same email account for years. Suddenly it isn't downloading emails. I hit send/recieve button and it acts like it is checking. A window pops up -It says recieving-then before it actually gets them it disconnects and there is nothing new since the 3rd of May. I haven't done anything new as far as I remeber. I have cable TV highspeed.

My old PC had Outlook (or Outlook Express) and I saved off the emails by selecting them all and dragging them to a folder on my network. Doing this creates an msg file for each email. Now, like I've done many times in the past, I would like to import them into the emailprogram of a new laptop. So I dragged the msg files into Vista Windows Mail and instead of importing the messages it creates a brand new email with these msg files as attachments! The only reason I save email in this manner is because Microsoft really dropped the ball when it came to transferring email from one PC to another. I forget which it was but either Outlook or Outlook Express was so bad it was a disaster. This method always worked so this is what I've decided to do. Now it looks like Microsoft's found a way to f*** this up too.
