I know there are some other threads about this problem but i can't post a reply there. I have a problem with wmp 11. It was working ok, but one day it stopped opening. Even if I double click it or if i try to open a mp3 file, it won't load.I tried to delete the registries,as i found somewhere on the net, but nothing happened. Any solution found?
I am not able to view picture in a video on Windows media player 11 and Vlc Media player. I am trying every thing out, but nothing works. I have a new Sony Vaio-VGN FZ21Z
We have a security camera that takes a short video when motion activated. The file is then emailed to the tech guys. I cannot view the video. It opens Windows Media player and then just sits there with a blank screen. I can use XP and the file plays just fine, just not on my Ultimate computer.
First of all I'm on vista home basic, second of all wmp was already installed on my pc when I received it. Lastly, it's always had this problem When I click on a mp3/avi/any wmp associated file it will launch the file audio, I can hear it BUT wmp doesn't open, I have to manually launch wmp before I can stop the file or do anything else.
I googled the problem many times and tried solutions but never got anywhere. I reset the assiociated files, I've checked for updates , I've run out of ideas. I was even going to unistall and reinstall it. Yet I can't seem to get a vista version from the microsoft webpage ?! So I don't want to uninstall it and loose it, or even try using wmp 10 instead, I'm worried it will mess up my machines default settings and/or media center!
I'm running Vista Home Premium and I can't find Windows Media Player. Microsoft has a page with a banner for "Windows Media Player 11 for Vista" but there is no download link. How can I get it on my system?
I have vista basic and windows media player(v11) is slow as crap. after the window appears it'll take about 20 seconds to load the media that's available(just to get it to a point where it'll respond. then after I select something it lags for about 10-20 seconds and then a 'media changing...' message appears at the bottom left and it'll be about 20 seconds to play that file. so from start to wmp playing something takes up to a minute. wmp11 on my xp puter(512mb hyperthreaded) blows wmp11 on my vista laptop(gig ram amd 64 x2) out of the water. is there something like some setting or something I can change to make things run faster? I like wmp11 and don't want to dl winamp.
As soon as it opens, it crashes. I uninstalled Nero, which I have read can cause issues, although it was installed and working at one time. OS is Vista Business
Here is the report. *problem signature *problem event name: appcrash application name: wmplayer.exe application version: 11.0.6001.7000....
As the subject line says: Why can't I play DVD's in Windows Media Player for Vista anymore? This is what I have installed as for the Windows Media Player for Vista. Look at ALL the listed under "MPEG/DVD Filters" I have. So why in the hell I can't play simple retail movie DVD's anymore.

It seems that drivers responsible for multimedia keys are malfunctioning, because sometimes when I press they key the operation assigned is performed twice. This refers definitely to Windows Media Player (I don???t use other).
- I have Windows Media Player playing some music in the background
- when I use Internet Explorer (it is my active application) and press ???pause??? button on the keyboard the music pauses ??? everything is ok.
- when I use Word (or any Office application) and press ???pause??? button the music pauses and after a fraction of a second it starts playing again. When I press ???next??? WMP jumps 2 songs forward. I don???t have any software that could affect functioning of extra keys on the keyboard (only IntelliType). Morover I know that other people have similar problem.
I had some spysweeper remove some files and my windows media player won't open neither will any of my other .wmv files. How can I reinstall or get the media player to work? There's no uninstall or repair feature on the remove programs.
Something happened to my computer that caused WMP to stop working. I receive a message thatWMP is corupted and asks me if I want to download and reinstall it. I am redirected to a download site I download the installation web site where i Download and try to install or repair WMP. But I Receive the following error message: "There is a more recent ersion of Windows Media Player (11.0.6000.6344) already installed on your computer. It is not possible to use an older installation package (11.0.5721.5146) to install files or to repair your current version of the player." tell me the link I need to get the correct version of WMP.
In an attempt to reinstall Media Player 11, I trashed all icons associated with the media player and am now unable to create a shortcut icon for the desktop; it turned out that the problem I was trying to resolve needed only the download of an update, which I did, and now the program works. I know that the program is on my computer because it opens when I click on video files, but surprisingily it does not appear in the list of programs, so I can't make a shortcut icon from it. How do I make the icon so that I can open the program from the desktop?
I know this is a vista group but i don't see a windows 7 group. i had disabled autorun because i don't like it. however, if i'm playing music in wmp and i put in a cd that has video either dvd or wmv/mp4 files, wmp suddenly stops playing the music and starts playing the video files on that cd. if autorun is disabled, why is wmp automatically doing this?
I lost my Windows Media Player icon on both the desktop and quick launch. I finally found the program when typing wmplayer.exe in the 'run' box. The program is up, but I can't add it to the desktop or the quick launch, how do I do this?
I uploaded a 3gp file to my computer from my phone & tried to play it in Media Player. At first it wouldn't do it, then a prompt told me I could try & run it if I wanted to. It played but now Media Player won't run on web sites, particularly the Nasa homepage (it used to ). Now I am forced to use QuickTime, which just isn't the same. I won't have RealPlayer on my computer either, just in case anyone suggests I download it.
problem with wmp 11 is that for some reason it takes a good 20+ seconds to play a song. Video streaming is fine, it's just with mp3 format songs. Not only is there a time lag for mp3 song files but it will always start skipping for the last 10 seconds of the file. It never fails, I must wait half a minute whenever I click a song and then it WILL skip during the end. I can't reinstall it for some reason either. It doesn't show up in the add or remove programs list. I can't express my annoyence enough, having such a large library of music.
When I play an audio track it plays fine. When I grab the progress bar and move the slider up a little bit further into the track time I have to wait maybe 30 seconds before the audio playing catches up to where I moved the progress bar to. Is this normal in WMP11?
i just bought a new pc with windows vista pre-installed with windows media player 11. when i burn a cd using windows media CENTER, it works fine. BUT, when i burn a cd using windows media PLAYER, it won't work anywhere! anyone have any idea as to what the heck is goin on?
As near as I can tell, I have WMP version 11.0.6002.18111 installed on my Vista Home Premium system. I haven't used it in a while, so I'm not sure when the problem arose, but whenever I try to play a file or even just open the player, I'm informed it has stopped working with the following information provided:
I can't track down the correct files at the MS site to reinstall, and I'd rather not use System Restore since I'm not sure how far back to go or how many things would be undone.
i open windows media player and putsomething to play, a small windows pops up and says that windows mediaplayer has stopped working and it says its looking for a solution. After a while it says " a problem caused this program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." then it closes the program with my consent. This never happened to me on my xp pc which had WMP 11. This is happening on my new vista pc that's just a few days out of the box and i even have full norton anti-virus protection. So is there any way to fix this problem or do i have to use some other program?
Dell tech gave me this website to solve a problem about downloading a video into Windows Media Player. I was expecting to get an actual tutorial, not just other peoples problems (as you call a forum). I downloaded a Google video and it went into MP4 format. I do not have an MP4, MP3 or other recording device. I wanted it in Media Player. Dell told me to transfer it to media player, but it said it did not recognize MP4 format, so it didn't transfer and won't play.
Do you have an actual tutorial (not forum) on this subject? If so, how do I access it? This is a new computer with VISTA installed. To say the least, I HATE IT. It has not worked properly since installed. It is so complicated trying to get results. Dell has tried repeatedly, but nothing works.... Now they want me to do complete system recovery by reinstalling the Operating System and Drivers discs that came with the computer. It should have been installed correctly in the first place. VISTA - state-of-the-art?
I have this infamous windows media player crashes on launch issue after I did a restore from one harddrive to another using Ultimate x64 backup feature. Now whenever I launch windows media player it crashes on launch with the indiv01.exe fault. I looked at the guide to fix it and how I need to edit the registry, but I have no registry entry for DRM/DataPath.
How would I add it or does anyone have more detailed steps on how to set this up if I don't even have this registry key? I also do not have any DRM content, so this might be why i don't have this datapath. I'll do a re-install if I have to, but I really don't want to at the moment.
I see a lot of issues for Windows Media Player but not any solutions that have worked for me. I have Windows Media Player 11 on Vista 64 Home Premium and everything was working just fine until all of a sudden I click on WMP and it does not respond which then caused problems with even shutting down the computer. I have rebooted I have tried scandisk and I have tried re-register of files such as regsvr32 wmp.dll and so forth and still no luck. I have also done a system restore to various times when I thought things were working just fine and still no luck.
My problem is when using windows media player to burn a music CD, where does it till you that the CD is full. In prier versions there is/was a time line stamp that would let you know how many songs you could put on that media and in third party burning software as well. So when using this software how do I know how many songs I cant put on the disc?
After reformatting my hard drive, suddenly to my great joy, I cannot play any avi files. Can someone point to the fix for this, or a particular codec that I'm supposed to download.
I have just recently bought my laptop with Vista Home Premium on it. The problem occurred after I transferred all files over and tried to play my Corrinne Baley Ray audio cd. The page came up saying I needed to download a license and to press the button. After doing this I get a message saying that "my netscape browser does not have windows media services plugins installed. And thats as far as I can go.
