View 9 Replies View RelatedDell tech gave me this website to solve a problem about downloading a video into Windows Media Player. I was expecting to get an actual tutorial, not just other peoples problems (as you call a forum). I downloaded a Google video and it went into MP4 format. I do not have an MP4, MP3 or other recording device. I wanted it in Media Player. Dell told me to transfer it to media player, but it said it did not recognize MP4 format, so it didn't transfer and won't play.
Do you have an actual tutorial (not forum) on this subject? If so, how do I access it? This is a new computer with VISTA installed. To say the least, I HATE IT. It has not worked properly since installed. It is so complicated trying to get results. Dell has tried repeatedly, but nothing works.... Now they want me to do complete system recovery by reinstalling the Operating System and Drivers discs that came with the computer. It should have been installed correctly in the first place. VISTA - state-of-the-art?
I have windows Vista Home Premium, Media, NVIDIA GeForce 7650GS, and all of my Videos MP4's, AVI's, WMV's and Live TV, the people are blue, the blues are red, my logitech quick cam displays as blue as well. My photo's, desktop, web sites etc are all normal. My SIL said my Cb and Cr are getting swapped, quick time, media center and windows media player 10 and irfanview players, all are the wrong colors. If I need to install codec's I'll need some step by steps where to get them and how to install them.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows Vista Ultimate and when I stream videos from websites like Gametrailers.com as either a Windows Media or a Quicktime file the video is choppy and has sound issues. If I download the same video there is no choppyness and once the stream is no longer on HTTP and is on CACHE it is fine. I know i have enough bandwidth for the video and under statistics I does not show any errors .I have all the latest drivers and service packs. I have reinstalled Vista as both 32 bit and 64 bit to see if there was some difference. I also have this same issue on my Laptop running Vista.
View 4 Replies View Relatedtons and tons of questions from users, who are having problems with windows vista and streaming videos online, like on Internet and every other place online and no real source for handling this issue. no it is not the internetconnection and no it is not the drivers. we have all tried to re-install these 40 times and we all got the newest versions but still the streaming stops, pauses, glitches, hops and simply makes watching videos online a pain in the *** with windows vista.
i have lost my patience ... i've googled, searched, read and read some more about solving this issue with no result yet. please - if anyone out there knows how to really fix this problem, then please write it in this thread, because i feel stupid that i just purchased a new 2000$ laptop with windows vista and a bunch of other cool stuff, and the computer works even worse than my old computer. i really don't want to go back to xp, so please help me fix this issue?
I am using a NAS for storing all my media files (photos, DVDs, music etc)
and was interested in the possibilty of using this drive to stream the info
around my house but all the systems I can find rely on a PC to at least
facilitate this. Are there any systems that would be able to read the NAS
directly on need the PC to be on?
Also are there any systems that would take the signal from my rooftop aerial
and stream that back to the PC/NAS so that I could effectively use the
PC/NAS as a PVR (the PC has a TV tuner card but the reception on it's local
aerial is rubbish and the rooftop one is much better)?
I am having problems running video streams on certain sites.

I recently discovered the AOL Radio with XM Radio area in the "more music" section of Vista's Media Center. For a few days, I was able to successfully listen to the XM Radio component of the AOL Radio system. Then after a few days, when I attempted to play any of the XM channels, it would come up with an error that said "An unknown audio error has occured. C00D11BB".

If I go to the directory that contains the media player exe files and click on any one of them (e.go. wmplayer.exe, wmlaunch.exe, wmpshare.exe, morph.exe etc. ).nothing happens. Also I recently noticed that email containing Power

I don't know if they are related but a couple of weeks ago I down loaded from the Microsoft site programs for reading the newer versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
I have tried to find the Media Player software on the Microsoft site thinking I could reinstall it but all I can find is updates to it. I don't even know what version of Media Players I have. I am using Vista, with all current patches.

First of all I'm on vista home basic, second of all wmp was already installed on my pc when I received it. Lastly, it's always had this problem When I click on a mp3/avi/any wmp associated file it will launch the file audio, I can hear it BUT wmp doesn't open, I have to manually launch wmp before I can stop the file or do anything else.
I googled the problem many times and tried solutions but never got anywhere. I reset the assiociated files, I've checked for updates , I've run out of ideas. I was even going to unistall and reinstall it. Yet I can't seem to get a vista version from the microsoft webpage ?! So I don't want to uninstall it and loose it, or even try using wmp 10
instead, I'm worried it will mess up my machines default settings and/or media center!
Each time I put an audio CD into the cd drive Window Media Player comes alive and starts to play it. Many times I just want to rip the CD onto my MP3 player with software that comes with the MP3 player. I'll even have the ripping software loaded and ready to view the first Cd into the drive but Media Player still jumps ion over everything and starts playing the Cd. Is there some way I can make Media player just stay still until I want it and launch it myself?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got the following message when playing DVDs on Vista home premium with Windows Media Player. The same problem happens to media center. Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card. I can play those DVDs on PowerDVD or VLC player. I installed K-Lite codec. It still doesn't work. It looks like it is not codec problem.

All of the issues with IE7 crashing, Media Player Crashing, I am going to attribute to the ASUS P5N32 E SLI motherboard I was using. It just blue screened and died 2 days ago after forcing me to re-activate a 3rd time with the same board.
I have a Builders OEM of Ultimate 32 bit. My biggest problem is will my copy of Vista still be valid for a change out? I tried ASUS for the first time in 12 years instead of Intel. That would seem to have settled my curiosity for good. The board didn't even last 6 months on stock settings and normal to low use............
When I attempt to open media player or open a media file WMP11 fails to start, no error messages or anything in the event log. So far the only option appears to be available is to reinstall Vista, this is ridiculous as a fix I would rather install a third party media player.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi can't get media player to play dvd's it tells me to ''lower my resolution'' which is set at 1680 x 1050. i do this and nothing i take the resolution all the way to 800x600 and nothing gives me the same message so i surmized that their was another problem. I recently just upgraded my motherboard and ram and ended up having to rebuy vista as my computer was previously factory built.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to rip the music from a CD with media player. The CD has 27 songs, I was able to get the 1st 11, but on each of the rest it says ripping for about 10 - 15 minutes, then it says error and moves on to the next song. There is no explanation as to what the error is. I have tried rebooting and starting over with the unripped songs but they still will not rip. Would this work better with media center?
