Mar 16, 2010I made a user account a while back for the family members that always get on my computer so that they didnt mess with anything on my account. Why i didnt just use guest side im still not sure. I want to delete this account and turn on guest but it will not let me do anything with it. I have tried changing it to standard and deleting and nothing. I went into safe mode and tried to delete it and still nothing. Turned on the built in administrator account and still nothing. Im tired of them being able to change setting and things on the other side and i can not do anything about it,

Jan 13, 2008I am listed as the Administrator on my laptop. After my Dad gave me this PC after having it and registering in his name, I renamed the Administrator from his name to mine. When I go under User Accounts, I am the only user listed. However, when I boot my computer, my Dad's log in information is listed first and it starts up automatically saying "Username or password is invalid" and then I have the click "Switch User" to log in under myself. I have tried to delete User Account in Safe Mode, but that did not work either. How can I delete this account so I may start up my computer with just my login information??

Jan 9, 2010My son changed a standard user account with parental controls to an administrator account by downloading a program off the internet. He went to Offline NT Password & Registry Editor and downloaded cd080802.zip under the bootdisk submenu. Our attempts to correct the problem have failed. We've tried deleting the account through Control Panel and command prompt. We've tried making the account inactive through command prompt. Even when we type in "net user *** " all we get is "The syntax of this command is: ..." like the account is inaccessible. You don't get the "user name could not be found" message that you would if you typed in an invalid user name but you don't get the account information that you normally would either. We've tried system restore but the account is still set as administrator.

Aug 24, 2009I have a Windows Live Mail account and a Yahoo account and they both show up on the left hand side of my Window Live Mail account so I can choose which account I want to use or, for example, which inbox to look in. At the bottom, also on the left hand side of my Windows Live Mail account, it shows 'Add e-mail account', which is what I want to do with a new 'AOL' account and I want it to show on the left hand side like the two other accounts.
So I made a new AOL e-mail account, clicked 'Add e-mail account' at the bottom of my 'Windows Live Account', then I put in my new AOL e-mail account and password where it showed me. Then I clicked next.
The next page was all about my email server. When I did this before with a new e-mail account, it was all filled out automatically for me, but this time, all the blanks were left open and I have no idea what to fill in. I believe once I have this information, the AOL e-mail account will automatically then show on the left hand pane of my Windows Live Mail account below the other two accounts.
Press Control/alt/delete To Get A Login Screen Up Then Login Using The Administrator Account?
Sep 30, 2009With xp you can press control/alt/delete to get a login screen up then login using the administrator account. On vista the administrator account is showing as a icon on the login screen. I dont want this to be visible, any ideas how to hide this?. I saw a registry hack but this removes the icon but it seems in doing so there is then no way to login without the icon.

Mar 23, 2008I use a admin account on my computer but when I added standard user account it will not open some web pages for example when I go to my yahoo mail it will show the email but when I click on it, it will not show any text, but when I use the administrator account the web page works fine, I can see and read all emails. Another example is when I go to ask.com and search under the standard user it comes up as a blank page but will show search results under the administrator account. Windows Mail Account Don't Want New Account
Nov 10, 2009Up until yesterday lunchtime my email inbox on Windows Mail (I have Vista) showed my old emails as well as my new mails. then suddenly all my old emails disappeared and I can only see new emails from yesterday lunchtime! my emails have vanished - how do I get them back? I use AOL - when I check my AOL via webmail i can still see the old emails so know they exist. so why have they disappeard from Windows Mail?
I have several folders set up on my AOL Windows Mail accont so don't want to have to set up a new windows mail account as I will lose allmy folders. And my account settings are set to "view all mail". even wehn I press "send & receive" none of my old inbox emails are being shown up.
Gmail Account Not Retrun Account
May 15, 2010my Gmail account has been comprimised yesterday They have changed the secondary email so I cannot just reset the password I have tried to fill out the form to regain control over your account but they declined to give me my account. I have filled it out as best as I can, but I cannot remember the dates that I set up (I have deleted the email that I got when I set up the account). I never use personal information with that email account, and I didn't really mind about it, but I have got accounts registered with other sites (VF, SF, EF etc.) on it. I have changed the emails and passwords on these sites, but I don't know if I have missed any websites. Is there any way that I can contact google (preferably by email) to sort out this?

Delete Broswsing History Does Not Delete Favorite History
May 15, 2010I can delete my browsing history but it dosen't delete my favorite history. I don't want to delete my favorite list, just the history from when I access my favorite sites. Also how do I stop pages from auto loading. When I leave my pc on, when I get back to it I noticed other sites have automactically loaded. These ere sites my grandson went out to. I really don't have a need to go out to ninja turtle sites. I have tried everything I know to correct the above two issues but can't.

Oct 13, 2009windows vista, I should have 3 accounts in my laptop, the original adminstrator, guest which is off, and another one with adminstrator rights, when I try to use the last one to remove any software, it just let me know that I need administrator right to download or remove. How can I restore the original administrator account?
