View 6 RepliesI've been doing a clean install of Vista x64 for about a week and have been getting many random blue screens of deaths yesterday I did another clean install and only had about 4 drivers or so installed and I got a BSOD but no dump file was created for some reason so I kept installing more drivers and it work for about 4 hours till it crahsed again this time it gave me a dump file so here are the results.......
View 5 Replies View RelatedNow I've had this for, i kid you not, less than a day, and blue screens of death/restarts keep occuring. I have norton 360 running and updated, updated my graphics driver for my 9400, updated everything I could through windows update, and still this problem presists. Sometimes, the blue screen will just briefly flash, then restart and it gives me the option of choosing if i want to go into safe mode or not.Also, i changed some setting on my internet connection, through cmd.exe, i changed everything this video told me to When i attempted to go back and reverse it, it said that elevation was required and the command failed on ipv4.
The blue screens have varied in what they say, they always dump my physical memory so i never get a chance to fully read them. However, they have said all of the following. MEMORY MANAGEMENT Something about a bad page file And a few more i cant remember Right now, my pc runs fine for a while, but most of the time when i boot it up, it says rundll32 has encountered a problem and must close. Sometimes this forces a blue screen to appear sometimes it doesn't. I also thought it may have been heat, but i was runnining my computer fine for 15 hours straight or so when i got it and it was ok, but then showed a blue screen of death for memory management. Currently, it runs in this strange windows 98 style, the icons, toolbar, start menu, everything is windows 98 looking. Also, it displays a rundll32 error and somestimes a windows process error everytime i start up. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said there were no problems.
Problem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.
But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........
there are many ndis.sys Blue Screen of Death postings on the net, but none of them seem to suggest that it is solved. Can it be solved? Or can someone point to a solution? the blue screen shows DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and I am using an onboard LAN card by Intel, with IRQ -3 (minus 3), the model is 82562-V2 10/100 It is on Vista SP1, with every possible upgrade installed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAgainst the advice of all of my colleagues, I am trying to install Vista on a new computer I've assembled. Every single component is supposedly Vista-compatible (in fact, I just upgraded to a $200 video card so Vista would run). But I cannot get past the blue screen of death during the "Expanding Files" stage of installation. Soon after it reaches 1% I get a "System Service Exception" and there's a hexidecimal code below that ends in "3B". I can provide the specs of all the hardware in my system if required. What would you do, short of giving up and just installing XP?

I have received the bluescreen at least 20 times. Although I don't record the details each time, they appear to be different each time. I thought it was just a faulty laptop so I returned it and was given a new one and I am still getting the bluescreen. It usually appears after I install new software (installed printer) however I can receive upon startup as well...............

I have no problem until I come to during the "Completing installation" phase,then the system gets the blue screen of death and shuts down less than a minute or so before Vista is installed. If I boot the system again I get the same error. If I boot in Safe Mode I get the message: "Installation can not be completed in safe mode"

View 6 Replies View Related-I have done 4 clean installs (format and re-install) -Using Vista-64 Home basic on a XFX nVidia 780i mobo with 8gb of OCZ paired ram (4x2gb), a intel Q6600 quad core, and 2x MSI 8800GTS in SLI... -What would be really nice is if someone could tell me how to sign up for OEM support as an individual, as I build systems for fun, not for a company. I was having constant blue screens in my new Gateway comp. Its a laptop, M Series, 15.4 inch screen. It brought along the Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit OS with SP1. Dual processors, 4GB of memory. After countless of blue screens, they seemed to come and go, I figured the comp was just being dumb. I unistalled all the things I had placed on it [which really wasn't much] so the laptop was running with all the things it brought from scratch only. Blue screens disappeared for a day or so, and then came again, though with less frequency. I was using it today, left it for a few minutes, and when I returned it had gone to the usual stand by mode.
Moved the cursor so it would restore, but after twenty minutes of a blank black screen I decided to turn it off and on again. And that's when it started to refuse to boot. Whenever it tries the bar appears for a minute or so, and afterwards it's replaced by the BSOD. To my disdain they always disappear quickly, so the most I can read on it is something about a driver malfunction, or whatever, and the error code 0x0000007E. So yeah, if anyone has a clue as to why it won't boot, and how to fix it, I'd be grateful. Of course, I could just re-format it -- but I want to leave that option as a last case scenario.
I know theres probably a million threads about blue screens, but I think my problem is different. (Probably heard that before too.) I bought my computer in November, and since then I've had a bunch of blue screens, most giving different codes. I ran Memtest86 and it found nothing (I ran it once for 6 hours then another for 9). Heres some of my error codes, just recently:

It has become a routine. This dreaded screen (which I've never seen during my seven years with Windows XP) has poped up several times.
Is there a way to see what causes the problem. I was denied access to some mini dumps.

Then afterwards it showed me this screen as the new drivers installed: In that box on the toolbar it says "new drivers installing" then 3 seconds later it goes to the Blue Screen Of Death...it does it every time i boot up, in safe mode too.

Upon doing diagnostics after hitting F8 during startup, it says error code 2000-0146 with Hard Drive 1. What the heck is going on, and how do I fix this? Dell Inspiron 1525, manufactured 7/2008. I don't know much about Vista and have failed to locate the problem. A really interesting thing is, the crash happens everytime I try to upload something somewhere, like an email attachment or to uploadsites like uploadr. Even if uploaded, the files are always corrupted.

View 9 Replies View Relatedso I built my new computer about a week ago, and I'm having a BSOD problem. It seems to happen randomly, but one thing for sure sets it off is when I'm using uTorrent, or any other bittorrent program. This isn't the only cause, but it's defintely one of them. I know because I can reboot and leave my comp alone and it'll be fine for hours, but if I just run utorrent, it'll BSOD after 10-20mins.
The BSOD problem is "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." From what I know this is caused by a Driver issue (that's why i'm posting it in the Drivers forum.) However, i've updated EVERY driver to the latest and it's still happening. I've done windows update, latest bios, latest motherboard drivers (located here TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a Tiny URL ), sound card driver, video card driver (running a GTX 260), VIA V-Raid driver, and keyboard+mouse driver. I don't know what else to update. I even downloaded a program called Driver Genius Professional to find anything missing, but still nope.
Also, I downloaded memtest86 to make sure my ram is all good, and it passed with no errors. I'm so f*cking frustrated by this. Someone told me I need to make sure my "IRQLs" are the same, but I have no idea what that is or how I fix it. I formatted my harddrive before I put it in my new comp, so there isn't any lingering files that could be causing this.
I have recently been getting the BSOD appearing with no rhyme or reason I can discern. The first error line that shows up is Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have read differing advice on how to fix this, but I haven't recently installed any programs and haven't changed anything to do with my drivers.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Vista Home Premium x64. Yesterday i installed SP2 and after the reboot from that i realised i had the Relevant Knowledge spyware on my startup. I managed to restart in safe mode and removed the relevant knowledge from startup on msconfig and uninstalled it as a program. Following another reboot i noticed that my TV tuner and audio drivers were no longer recognised in the device manager, i also ran a spybot search and destroy to remove any remnants of the relevant knowledge. I guessed that the service pack had probably stopped the tv driver working (as this had happened in the past) so i uninstalled the SP 2.
Following the reboot i got the blue screen of death, but was able to boot from my Vista CD to repair windows, this went through a series of checks but found no memory problems, following yet another reboot i got taken to the system startup and chose to boot into safe mode just to make sure, this was unsuccessful. Things have gone from bad to worse, my cd drive is connected by USB and this is no longer recognised so i cant even boot from cd, and no matter how i choose to start the computer (safe mode, with networking, command prompt, last known good config) the computer just restarts and brings me back to the same screen. I know that this is not good, but would prefer to try and fix myself rather than pay to have it done, any solutions?
