Restores Won't Go To October?

I have done a number of restores trying to get my new LG DVD/CD R-W internal drive back. Now, I can't get back further into October. where I need to go. I uninstalled some programs.but didn't touch anything that should affect restore. I am using Windows XP Professional. System info: Pentium(R) 4 - 512 g ram 1.70 Ghz 80 G hard drive )about 80% free space).
