I just purchased a Dell computer and every time I open a web page I have to close four or five security certificates. I cannot find the place to slow down or turn off. Can someone please tell me how to disable?

It only happens on both Cox Webmail and Bank Of America online banking, what do you make of this and how do I fix this problem? And it suggest that I set the clock which is perfectly ok.Now the next thing I did was (the obvious) google 0x80072F8F (this was the error code winxp update gave to me.
and after googling some I did the following1.Deleted the cache of IE 6 2.Made sure computer got no virus 3.Tried from safe mode (virus scan as well) 4. regsvr32 /s Softpub.dll 5. regsvr32 /s Mssip32.dll 6. regsvr32 /s Initpki.dll 7. regsvr32 /s Msxml3.dll 8. rebooted tried again

Did a huge 100+ update via windows update and now whenever I visit secure websites like ebay, paypal or windows live, I get taken to a page advising 'There is a problem with this sites certificate'. I then have to click a link to 'continue anyway'I am reposting this question from a previous post that expired. Seems no one responded to it then. If it is not a question for this forum would you all at least let me know this sos I can look else where.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI work for a company that uses an ethernet connection and a netgear switch to connect a bunch of trucks together, and then software on the main computer to control all the different trucks and display the data off the trucks, rates, pressures, engine diagnostics etc. Lately I have had an issue with the software on the main computer locking up. When I checked the event viewer the last couple of times I had a crypt32 error right around the time the software froze. Now I understand why this is happening, because windows is trying to update the root certificates, and I'm not connected to the internet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have about a 100 collection employees that send confidential information (credit cards and other information) to third party vendors for payments. I want to encrypt all emails going out to these vendors. In order to do that, the employees need digital signatures.
My questions:
(1) I'm assuming that I will need a 128-bit encryption certificate server for this. Is there a site that someone can point me to so that I can investigate this further?
(2) Would it be possible to set up one digital ID for all employees or must it be separate?
(3) I do have an Exchange 2003 server. If I need to assign digital ID's to the 100 employees, is there a script that I can use to get this done quicker?
A few weeks ago I did a scan with a registry repair program. Some how it deleted the certificate for the encrypted files on my external hard drive. Because of this I don't have access to any encrypted files on the drive. I've never intentionally backed up the certificate for this drive.Is there anyway to recover this certificate...without buying some expensive program?

It usually hasn't been a massive problem except I've just bought an ipod, and the certificate errors won't let me download itunes! So I really need to disable the certificate errors. Following instructions, I've got as far as disabling it, but it says that I need to restart internet explorer for it to take into effect. How do I restart internet explorer? Or is there another easier way to disable the certificate errors?

I want this so I can set Permissions, etc. I have it on my other PC set up the same way but for some reason I don't on this new install.

I haven't been to this site for a while and I noticed I'm getting Security Warnings that my security settings has blocked of an ActiveX install. I know how to change those settings, but am reluctant to do so. Can anyone shed some light on this. I occasionally will get similar warnings on other sites, but it is consistant on this one. Once in a while IE6 will hang up on this and I'll have to got to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of it.

I am getting this message: Windows has blocked this software because it cannot verify publisher. I have 2 computers set exactly the same. I can open page on one computer and not the other. I've gone into Tools, IE, etc. etc, unchecking anything to do with ActiveX, but nothing is working.I am trying to open a virtual tour of a hotel. I've disabled pop ups. I can't download ActiveX. Everytime the ActiveX bar comes up, the Windows blocked software message comes appears.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI had a old computer given to me, (and I mean old, fixed it up just to do email and do letters etc, doubt it would cope with anything else) anyway I got it going and managed to load the OS on to it, (XP Pro) checked and all drivers where present so XP Pro had all the drivers (shows how old the mother board is) anyway before installing service packs etc I went to turn some bells and whistles off and configure settings as I like them. (This computer has not yet been connected to the Internet, I have not even put an Ethernet cord into it yet, so not a virus) I go into the Control Panel and there is no security centre icon there, this is the first time I have come across this. I have searched the net but only articles or forum entries I have come across have been for if malware or other nasties had been removed and then noticed the icon missing, so this does not apply to me as its a fresh install, and this computer has not been connected yet.
Ideas running through my head is maybe updating drivers, or something to do with the bios, going to check the hard drive itself tomorrow, a bit hesitant to try things unless I know its going to help other than this everything seems to be opening and closing as per usual.It just amazes me with all the installs I have done (in the hundreds +) and this is the first time I have had this happenAny ideas will be much appreciated, oh and have not loaded anything else on yet, its just the basic OS, decided not to go any further with installing of anything else till I have sorted this
