wich og these two pentium is the fater and better that you recommend Pentium centrino or pentium 4?

I have been given a named above Dell, It runs very very slow OS is XP Home, now it has a system memory 128MB Internal cache 256KB video memory 2.5MB H/Drive 6495 MB Is there away I can adjust the 300 mhz to go either 450 or 500? If so can someone guide me on how please. What happens is it will load to windows desktop in 90 seconds when I try to access from Start control panel it takes for ever to load.

SP2 Work On My Dell Pentium Lll

Hey There! I have a Dell Dimension L500r with a pentium lll processer, 256 MB of Ram and and 80 GB hardrive that is currently running Windows 98 SE. I want to update to Windows XP but i don't know if my computer could run. I really don't care if it's pretty slow but i would like to atleast listen to my music in media player and run the internet even if it was as slow as crap. It's running very well right now. I have considered windows ME but i can't find the upgrde CD ANYWHERE! I really would like XP.

Pentium 4 Splash Screen For 5 Minutes At Boot?

As the topic name says, the CPU's splash screen stays on the display for about 5 min, and I can not acces BIOS, aside from that everything works fine, after its gone windows boots up normaly.

Diferences Between Intel Pentium 4 And Intel Celeron

Just curious to know details on this question. We are getting a 2nd DELL. The first one is as follows:
Wind. XP Home Ed.
Vers. 2002 SP2
Pent. (R) 4CPU 3000 GHz
2.99 GHz 512 MB of RAM
OUR newest computer is of course different in other ways, but instead of Intel Pent. 4 it is Intel Celeron.

SP3 And Intel Centrino Duo

I've read the rumors about SP3 boosting performance substantially, and now the release candidate is out. So obviously I'm thinking about installing. In my own research I read that the reason that people reported such great results in the beta stage was because that XP never had support for Dual cores. The sticker on my laptop says Intel Centrino Duo but i'm not even sure what the difference is between duo and dual is or if there is a difference, but i tend to think there is one becuase intel produces stuff that says both. but is that the reason why people saw an increase in performance? I don't want to install the SP3 unless it actually does something besides "fixes security bugs". So what is your opinion on the new SP? To anyone who has install SP3 have you noticed any improvements? Also should i just wait for the official release of SP3?
