MP3 Ripping In WMP

A previous tip here had a download to allow MP3 ripping in Windows Media Player. It did not work in Windows XP. Here is the link for an encoder that works with Windows Media Player and Windows.

Ripping Music In Safe Mode

I'm not tech savvy.I need to rip some music via CD on to my laptop which can only be booted in safe mode. It says that the path file may not exist, which I've triple checked.Or that the computer where the file is stored is offline.When I click More Information it gives some junk about activating network protocols, which I have.I'm fairy certain the problem is that the computer is offline. How can I fix that?

Finding Software For Ripping DVD's For Hard Drive?

does anyone know if there is a Windows based program that will let me rip dvd's to hard drive format that is playable? I am wanting to make a dvd movie on my hard drive in like mpg format or avi.
