Win 8.1 Pro Keeps Telling Need NET Framework 4.5
Mar 19, 2014
Everytime I bootup Windows 8.1, I get an error window telling me that one of my appz needs .NET Framework 4.5 in order to work properly. When I try installing it, I get the following message:
1. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system. You do not need to install the .NET Framework.
2. Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4.5 has already been installed on this computer.
Do I even need .NET?

For some odd reason WD keeps telling me I need to do a scan (it's in orange in WD) even though I do a scan everyday via the Task Scheduler. After any kind of scan it resets itself (I don't need to scan, green in color). Some time period later it tells me a scan is needed.
Is there some option that controls how often WD tells you to do a scan?
This started happening about a week or so ago. I don't have anything running on my system that IMO is doing this.

I currently have a new laptop with Windows 8 on it and I've installed some of my apps and said that I needed .NET Framework 3.5 in order to run those apps. I clicked the "download" button but for more like 12 times today it always ended up on Error 0x800F0906 - Couldn't connect to Internet. I've got internet connection and as matter of fact its kinda fast. I couldn't update my Metro Apps too says it can't connect to Internet. So basically I've googled .NET Framework 3.5 installer and ended up on Microsoft's official website. Can I download and install this framework straight to my laptop?
Here's my specs:
Acer Aspire E1 - 471
Intel Core i3 2348M (2.3 GHz, 3MB L3 cache)
Intel HD Graphics 3000
4GB DDR3 Memory
500 GB HDD
Update: I've noticed too that when I'm downloading apps from my browser its lightning fast but within windows 8's premise (like store, troubleshoot, and etc.) its really freakishly slow.

I need to install the .Net framework 3.5 sp1 on Windows 8.1 for Autodesk 3ds Max for work. I initially noticed this in the Max installer...just quit installing and says I need to connect to the internet. Of course I am connected just fine.
Tried Windows update, gave me this error: 0x800F0906
Tried enabling .net 3.5 from the features menu, but got the same Windows Update "connect to the internet" error.
I tried using command prompt to do this command: Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:E:sourcessxs /LimitAccess
That did not work, even with the installation media inserted, CMD gave me error 0x800f081f saying it could not locate the files on the Windows 8 installation disc (YES I DID INSERT THE CORRECT DRIVE LETTER)
I even copied the sxs folder directly to my C directory, directed the command to the folder itself and it still gave me the same error. The only thing I can think of to actually make that command work is if I had a Windows 8.1 disc instead of 8.
I've tried downloading multiple "offline" installers for it, but they all do the Windows Update crap that got me into this in the first place.

I've made a Windows 8 AIO in which I included a WMC unlocked build but it can't be activated because no serials are found. I decided better than that to remove that image and include .net framework 3.5 preinstalled with windows in stead of enabling it from WU or using Dism.
The problem is just that I don't know how to enable the feature in a .wim image.

After installing Windows 8 in most cases you have to install .Net Framework 3.5 to be able to install or run some 3rd party application. Recently while browsing the internet I came across an offline installer; one that worked perfectly and was very easy to use.

I've made my integration which pre-enables the .netframework 3.5 into my .wim images, my AIO includes w8, w8 pro, w8 pro WMC and w8 Enterprise for both architectures, now I'm facing the problem that the iso exceeds the weight by 22 MB, so I'm forced to use a dvd9, now that the feature is preinstaled into de the win images I think that I can reduce the space by deleting the .net framework files for 3.5 in the sxs folder but exactly which files do I have to delete?

I can't install .NET Framework 3.5 no matter what I do. I tried downloading it and in the midway get the error 0x800f0906. I tried installing through DISM but that didn't work either. It always stops at 65.8 %.

I'm using Windows 8.1, trying to install .NET Framework 3.5 through the "Turn Windows features on or off" menu, and for some reason it won't connect to the update server, but only for this one feature, enabling and disabling everything else works just fine. It spits out error code 0x800F0906. When I go to the support site linked on the error message [URL], it gives me a few things to try. None of them work. When I try the one that apparently fixes the issue for most people, Method 3, the terminal spits out an error about the files not being there [URL]. This error also being covered on the same page as the first, I read through that, made sure everything was good to go, and even tried it with a completely separate Windows 8.1 ISO (what I was originally using was a base Windows 8 ISO), still nothing.
Now, I had this issue a few days ago, and it was stopping me from running a few programs. Having gone through everything I could find on the matter, I decided it was just some sort of file corruption and decided to do a fresh "nuke & pave" reinstall.

Recently I have downloaded a few things that require the .NET framework 3.5. When I go to download/ install this, it moves realy fast, then stops and says: "Windows couldn't complete the requested changes" with the error code '0x800F081F'. I have been trying to do this for weeks now, and keep getting this error.
Some things to note:
I downloaded Windows 8 (Pro, 64)
My computer had a problem and I had to refresh it.

The problem is that I can't install the .NET Framework 3.5 on my Windows 8.1 because when i try to install it, appears:
"Can't install the following feature: .NET Framework 3.5
Can't find the specified file. Error: 0x80070002"
The same if i download the dotNetFx35setup.exe setup from Microsoft Website. I tried also in other 2 ways suggested here (Installazione di .NET Framework 3.5 in Windows 8) :
- In Control Panel -> Programs -> Enable or disable Windows Features -> .NET Framework 3.5 but i receive the same error
- I insert Windows 8 DVD in the D: Unit and i type in the prompt command this code:
Code: DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:sourcessxs
But I receive this error:
"Features Activation: 99.8%. Error: 2. Can't find the specified file"
