Is there anyway to disable zooming abilities in windows 7? They most often find a way to zoom out to the tiniest possible font in outlook and browser. Would be awesome if there is some kinda system wide setting that I could have them disable this

Nov 6, 2011Sometimes I think I must have an alter ego who is intent on screwing up my life because I get on my computer and suddenly its doing weird stuff I never wanted it to do.Here lately, a lot of times when I just want to scroll down the page, it ends up zooming into letters so small I can't read, or conversely too large.How is this happening and how can I stop it other than handcuff myself if I'm doing it in my sleep and sabotaging myself.

When I right click on the file, and click send to email recipient, i get an error telling me no email program is associated to perform this action.I don't have any stand alone email program s installed. I strictly use web based email (gmail & hotmail) as my mail programs. I do not wish to install a stand alone program such as outlook or Thunderbird. Sep 11, 2011I've been running XP for some years and recently set up Win 7 on a new SSD. In XP and using Opera browser, if I clicked on an web page's email link, my email client (Sylpheed) would open with the address inserted. With Win 7 and the email defaults set, it won't. Instead, it always returns an "Internal communication error" page (example link: Contact Us | PCWorld). Below are screenshots of my Win 7 email defaults and Opera preferences setting. One thing I'm not sure about, if it's at all relevant, is where Opera is picking up the default application from. In XP, it picked up Opera email as the default. The Other Application file location shown is exactly the same in both, except for the drive letter.

Activesync works perfectly on my phone so that portion of the network is open at my work. I have been doing some reaserch and in order to get Outlook to sync with Exchange Server without VPN, RPC over HTTP or Outlook Anywhere must be enabled on the network. I know for a fact that our IT department have that portion disabled.

I plan on adding a new video card, and most likely will also have to up the power supply if I do so.
The issue I am having is the computer is only running 4G of RAM. I ran DXDiag and it recognizes the 6G but for some reason I am not getting 100% of my RAM.
CD/DVD Drive Not Reading?
Oct 17, 2012I bough a new laptop 2 weeks ago (Asus with windows 7) and decide it was the time to install Microsoft office today, what a surprise the CD drive can't read anything...I've tried CD, DVD and Blue ray nothing work!Basically, when I click on the DVD RW drive it open the DVD reader and said <please insert disc into drive>. Then, it start reading for 2 seconds, stop before opening anything and bring me back the same error <please insert disc into drive> like if there was nothing in the drive. I think the drive itself is functional it is only a reading issue. I found some tips but nothing work for me

Jan 7, 2013When I turned it on, first I see is it's not starting the programs that display in the right side.The audio says it's not running and it displays the icon with an "x" on it. It also display the safely remove hardware and my antivirus. The internet icon won't show up. The Action Center won't start either. When I try to go to setting up a network it just says it's not "detecting any network hardware". I went to device manager and everything is there and apparently working properly. How can I fix this?

Nov 25, 2011The problem is I have two DVD Combo drives. Both of them are not working unfortunately. The drives will take the CD/DVD in but doesn't read anything. When I called a professional he informed me the computer is outdated and I need to update . So I took his advice and updated the MOBO and processor. I kept the other components as it is. After upgrading the drives were working fine. Then all of a sudden I have the same issues again. This time atleast I want to check with the great minds here to see if I can get a help. Lemme tell you I am no noob when it comes to computers but not an geek too. I know how to execute the solution you guys are gonna give me. Here is my config.

To give you heads up I have Googled the issue and found some so called solutions but nothing worked for me.
1. Changing the Link State Power Management settings.
2. There are no upper and lower filters so I couldn't do anything more.
3. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.
[DRIVERS] USB Ports Not Reading?
Mar 3, 2011My USB ports on my computer are not reading anything plugged into them.This is a big hassle for a laptop user.More information:
-I'm using Windows 7
-The ports ARE delivering power
-The support site for my computer's drivers and BIOS is in Chinese and all the links and downloads don't work
-I have tried restarting
-I have tried removing the battery and power source for 15 minutes and rebooting
-I have tried disabling my USB controllers and then re-enabling
-I have tried uninstalling all the USB drivers and restarting my computer and having it reinstall them for me.
