Will 32 Bit Win 7 Support 8 GB Ram ?
will 32 bit win 7 public release support 8 GB ram?It would be nice cuz there are 32 bit games + lost's more nice things so I cant use 64 bit os if I wanna use 32 bit soft. If windows serve can handle 128G ram and more then why cant win 7 handle 8 G ram. if you (Microsoft) don't code 8 GB support in 2 bit win 7 u loose ur clients.me for example.
I just downloaded 32 bit Ubuntu linux and installed server kernel on it, and now I can use my 8 GB ram :) And I won't buy next windows until these memory limits are 4 GB off topic: if u plan make 8 GB support I can be tester.

Win 7 32-bit, 4GB RAM Support (Yes Or No)
I search everywhre, but everywhere the tell another story (some say win7 32 has 3GB limit, some say 4GB). So I want this to be clear:I have a machine (running WinXP Pro (default), it has 4GB RAM (XP does see 3GB, I know for sure that XP32 only supports 3GB)So I want to upgrade to Windows 7. Does Windows 7 (Ultimate) 32-bit support my 4GB RAM, or do I need to get a 64-bit version?

32-bit Support 4gb RAM
I own a HP HDX-18 Notebook (it has 4GB RAM), and I installed Windows 7 (64 bit) not too long ago. The laptop was being problematic giving me a blue screen of death with a 'Power_Driver_State_Failure' message, so I figured it could be problems with driver compatibility. I formatted the hard drive again, and installed a 32bit version of windows 7. When I right click and go to 'My Computer', it only acknowledges that 3gb out the 4gb ram is being used. Why is this? Is Windows 7 incapable of supporting up to 4gb ram? Do you guys think I'm better restoring the laptop to factory settings (Vista Home Premium) with the recovery CD?

Ultimate 64-bit Doesn't Support 4GB RAM
I have had Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RTM installed for a couple of months now, but there is one issue that I have not been able to solve for this whole time. When I first went to install Windows 7, I had to remove a 2GB stick of RAM in order for the installer to even start without blue screen-ing on me. So I took the RAM out and managed to get 7 installed (yay!). However, when I tried to reinsert the RAM, I got the same BSOD that I would when trying to install 7 with the other 2GB in. I gave up after a couple of tries, and it has taken me this long to try to solve the issue. I am pretty sure that my specs are 7 Ultimate x64 compatible? Because if not, that is most probably the source of the error. Otherwise, could anyone lend a hand? It really hurts having 2GB of RAM lying around in a drawer being useless.

Win 7 64-bit Using Too Much RAM
i just installed Windows 7. System works great, all games and programs are running without a problem. There is just something strange. Anyway here is the performance picture: http://www.shrani.si/f/0/oU/4UdsNBIf/picture-1.jpg Processes: http://www.shrani.si/f/r/8L/RWF7DRP/problem-2.jpg Can someone please help me? RAM Subscore In Win 7 64 Bit
I am currently running the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit RC on a few computers. I ran the performance assessment & was quite surprised by the results! I am running a very old white box. It has 2GB (4x512MB) DDR400 RAM installed. When I run the assessment I achieve a sub-score of 4.9 for Memory (RAM)! I was quite happy with this. I then ran the assessment on a slightly newer machine which has 4GB (1x2GB & 2x1GB) DDRII 667 RAM installed [states that only 3.25GB usable, this is a bios issue I believe, which I'll sort at some point.] I was surprised to see that the assessment sub-score achieved was also 4.9. Can anyone explain to me why half the amount (or 2/3 due to the usable amount) of older DDR400 RAM can perform as well as 4GB (3.25GB usable) of newer DDRII RAM? Both machines are running the same software, only difference there is that the DDR1 machine is running McAfee antivirus whereas the DDR2 machine is running AVG free. Both machines have the same CPU, Pentium 4 3GHz with H/T enabled. Both machines are running the same graphics card, 8400GS, with the same amount of dedicated memory. Both machines have the same size paging files set up on a second HDD to the operating system. Both the HDD's are the same models. The RAM is not all from the same manufacturer. Is it possible that some companies are just producing RAM?

Why Win 7 32 Bit Does Not Work With 4 Gb Ram ?
Today i have upgradet my ram memory by repleasing my exsisting 1 GB pices with 2 x 2 gb to use dual chanell. Windwows 7 rcognized the new memory but uses only 3 GB. To use all 4 GB should I go to 64 Bit version of Windows 7? I use my PC mostly for gaming so I am reluctent to switch beacouse of compatibiliti issues. Curently i have instaled Fallout 3, Mass Efect, Red Alert 3, Prototype, but also older games like Diablo 2 and even older for wich i use Dos Box like colonizatino or imperialism. Also i have conected my PC with LCD TV through DVI to HDMI cable for HD Movies 720i, 1080i and 1080p. My configuration is as follows Inte Core 2 Duo 6420, Asrock 4Core 1600 Twins P35, 4 Gb Ram, 2 x WD HDD 160 GB raid edition (but not conected in RAID conection) and 1 Hitachy HDD 500 Gb also purchased today, 9600 GT 512 Mb Palit graphix and 5.1 speakers. I use K-lite cdecs pack for .mkv videos and Power DVD 9 for hardware acceleratinon for HD .avi movies. If I switch to 64 Bit would I be able to enjoy my PC like i describet? And if I dont whill the games have benefit from the RAM? Â

64 Bit Win 7 On A HP G70 With 3GB Ram
I have one of these laptops and not sure whether to go with the 32 bit or 64 bit of build 7100. i have actually already tried both, just to see which i would prefer, but having done so cant quite make up my mind which to go with. i installed the 64 first because i thought i would end up going with the 32 (due to only having 3GB RAM) but the 64 seems to have been as good, if not actually better. there was even an issue with some program incompatibility with the 32 that wasn't there with 64 strangely. Admittedly i only installed around half of my usual programs with the 64, but everything seemed fine. WEI score was considerably higher with the 64 bit, and the RAM score was 7.0 in the 64, and only 5.0 in the 32 bit, and the GFX score (gaming) was 5.5 in 64, and 5.1 in 32. i guess this is something to do with how the different architecture utilises RAM? is it worth going back to the 64bit, now that i have most of my programs installed on the 32? or will i notice an issue with the lack of RAM when all my apps are installed etc? i dont have an issue with having to start all over from scratch tbh, and would be interested to hear of anyone running 64bit with under 4GB RAM.

Running 64 Bit Win 7 On 1.5 Gigs Of RAM
Can I run 64-bit Windows 7 with only 1.5 GB of RAM? The minimum system specs on Microsoft's website are 2 GB for 64-bit, but I'm not sure if that's recommended or required. I'm getting Windows 7 Professional upgrade for $30 USD, so I want to know if I can use 64-bit vs 32-bit. I already know that none of the printers I have work with Windows 7, but that's fine. All my other hardware is covered.

Win 7 64-bit Ram / Cpu Question
I'm still running xp pro 64 bit lol, but I want to move to win7. We have two pcs. The wife's is a stock dell quad core and mine is a custom built E4300 (duo core 2 @ 1.8Ghz ; Oced to 3.7Ghz) with 4gigs of dd2 800Mhz Oced to 1066Mhz with timing 5-5-5-15. Q1: will a E4300 @ 3.7Ghz be ok for gaming in win7 as it is in XP pro 64 bit? Q2: Will 4 gigs of ddr2800 Oced to 1066 be enough for win7 gaming? Q3: How does SSD do in win7? Q4: if 4gigs isn't enough then how much ram do I need?

Win 7 64 Bit Not Reading Entire RAM Memory
I've downloaded a windows 7 64 bit program from the Microsoft official site. I've installed the system on a new computer (not a laptop) that I've purchesed (without operating system). When the installation was succesfully finished I've checked my system settings and discovered my machine only uses 3.25 RAM memory and not 4 Gigs that I have. My question is why is that? What can I do in order to fix it? I have a 64 bit processor and the Windows 7 operating system I've downloaded is 64 bit also...

RAM Issue With 64-bit Win 7 Pro RTM
I'm having a helluva problem with Windows x64 when using 2 sticks of RAM. I currently have 2 brand new 2GB Kingston RAM sticks on an MSI G31M V2 motherboard (compatible according to their tech sheets). I recently upgraded from XP 32-bit with a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit RTM. It wouldn't work, so I tried installing the 32-bit version instead. No problem there, hardware worked without a problem, all went very well. I then read somewhere that people were having RAM issues, so I tried installing 64-bit again after taking out 1 stick of RAM and it worked fine. I tried both sticks individually in each socket, and it makes no difference. So 64-bit installed and it's all working beautifully. However, if I try and put the second stick back in Windows seems to churn into slow-motion mode. Booting takes over 10 minutes, and when it finishes logging in and plays the starting tune it sounds like it's being played in slow motion. Everything takes forever to load up. It clearly works but extremely slowly. Any ideas?

32 Bit OS And 64 Bit OS RAM Capacity
I currently have the 32 bit edition of Windows 7 Beta for both my laptop and my desktop. It works great! And, most importantly, it works well with all my programs that may not function properly on a 64 bit OS. However, I want to upgrade the RAM on my desktop to more than3.5 GB of RAM. On Windows XP 32 bit this wasn't possible because, to my understanding, of the way Windows XP was put together. Online I can't find any reason that Windows 7 shouldn't be able to handle more than 3.5 GB of RAM. So my question is why is there a restriction placed to inconvience those who want to continue using the 32 bit OS?

Can I Install Win 7 X32 Bit Then Later To Win 7 X64 Bit With Same Licence Key ?
I currently run Windows XP x32 bit Operating System. I have ordered the "full retail" version of Windows 7. I understand that 2 discs will be enclosed in the box, one for installing Windows 7 x32 bit and the other for installing Windows 7 x64 bit. I understand that I need to choose whether I want the x32 bit or x64 bit Windows 7 Operating System and install the 1 I choose at that point. I am quite happy with that. However, what I would like to do is initially install the Windows 7 x32 bit system and in about 6 months (when I have upgraded my hardware sufficiently) then move on to the x64 bit Windows 7 Operating System.  Can I do this with the same 1 licence that comes with the full retail version I have just ordered or will I need to buy another copy of Windows 7 ? It would not bother me if I had to do a "clean install" to move from x32 bit to x64 bit.
