Lifecam NX-3000 Webcam Initialization Error
I am getting Initialization error when trying to use Lifecam NX-3000. The latest Windows seven driver is installed (2.9). The computer recognizes the webcam but cannot start it. I tried with a bunch of other webcams. All are recognized and the drivers get loaded but there is always a message that some other process is using the camera. Tried removing and stopping processes - no luck. There is no problem at all using the same hardware on XP Pro. The motherboard is AsRock 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ (latest Intel inf installed)Â and the graphics adapter is ASUS EN8500GT TOP/HTP/256M GeForce 8500 GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16. I have the feeling that it is the adapter or DirectX 11 but I don't know how to check.

Dv6000 Webcam Driver
I have a HP Pavilion dv6238ea and it had xp on it and the webcam driver i downloaded from hp.com worked fine. Then i formatted it and installed windows 7 in it. Windows 7 detected the webcam and installed the driver. The webcam shows as ''HP Webcam 1000" and the manufacturer is "Micro Vision" and also the driver is provided by 'Micro Vision'. But it doesn't work. It only shows a black screen. I downloaded the vista driver from hp.com for my laptop(HP Webcam Driver with Firmware Upgrade for Microsoft Windows Vista HP Pavilion dv6238ea Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)) but it is not able to install. It gives an error. There is no available driver for windows 7 for this laptop (or any dv6000 series i think) on hp.com Can anyone help in solving this?

Sonix Webcam Driver
I have a crappy E-Bay purchased Webcam, I used some random Sonix drivers last time, and I could've just as easily used a driverscanner, since I was running XP. However, try as I may, all of the drivers I use, including ones I got from the manufacturer, fail horribly. Sometimes they install, but AMCAP won't recognize that I have any hardware plugged in, Driver Detective had found a driver, but I can't pay for it. I'd be willing to do almost anything to fix this issue.

Default Webcam Drivers
currently have Windows 7 RC 64bit installed but have come across only one problem so far. A webcam i have that was pretty cheap and cheerful had appauling drivers that came with it but when installed on 32bit vista with the drivers vista found itself it worked awesomely, even better than when it was using the drivers that came with the hardware. But the thing is after plugging it in on Windows 7 there doesnt appear to be a compatible driver for basic cam fuctionality.

HP PAVILION Built-in Webcam
Who knows how many people complained for following issue BUILT-IN WEBCAM WON'T WORK UNDER WINDOWS 7RC! All right, I have the same problem, but I just could't find similar thread on any forum. So, I installed win7 RC over win 7 beta (clean install not an update). Everything went smoothly, drivers all found and instaled, device manager showing no yellow exclamation triangles. Every bit of hardware is in place, everything works perfectly according to system diagnostic. BUT, webcam shows no picture. Driver is properly installed and has no collisions with other system resources. Interesting thing was, that camera was working excellent under win 7 beta. I don't know what has changed in win 7RC, but camera just won't start. If anyone has any solution or similar issue, please don't hesitate to post a reply. Oh yeah, my configuration: HP PAVILION dv 6670el Entertainment PC intel core2duo 2.0 GHz 2GB RAM 160GB HDD NVIDIA 8400gs video card HP built-in webcam (at least that's what system information says) 1.3Mpix

HP DV2845se Webcam Issue
I have a DV2845se laptop with a "HP Webcam". That's all the information device manager is giving me about it. It auto installed a Microsoft driver for it version 6.1.7000.0, but it doesn't work. The drivers seem unavailable on the HP website so I tried installing a few drivers from the HP website for other computer models webcam. That doesn't work. If I boot up my computer onto vista then the webcam works fine with those drivers. Is there some way to "transfer" them from my vista partition?

I installed skype using compatibility mode in the same fashion. Has anybody had the same issue?

Solution For Issue Using HP Webcam
I have just bought an upgraded HP Touchsmart Tablet PC and had it upgraded to Windows 7! Everything worked fine apart from the webcam with the message that it couldn't be connected. So I clicked 'START' In the search box I began to type 'RUN PROGRAMS MADE FOR PREVIOUS VERSIONS ON WINDOWS' Clicked on that. Clicked 'NEXT' Scrolled Down and selected HP Mediasmart Webcam (Im guessing if you have a different HP laptop it will be fairly similar so select your webcam) Click 'NEXT', Click 'TRY RECOMMENDED SETTINGS' It chose Windows XP service pack 2 I tested the program before closing - IT WORKED SUCCESS Then I clicked 'NEXT' and 'YES KEEP THESE SETTINGS' Hope this helps others out I know it was doing my head in for a little while there, I read to click the compatibility tab in device properties and this was non existant to I simply searched to start with for COMPATIBILITY and it lead me here!

HP Mediasmart Webcam Software
I have a dv5-1235dx. HP posted new software for Win 7 (64) built in camera software. The install seemed to go fine, but once you click to run the software, nothing happens, so it seems. About a minute or so later, the application opens. Why is it taking so long to open. I have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times and the problem still exist. I have tried to go back to the old vista version of the software (running in cap mode), but now that software takes a long time to load. I have done a restore, with no affect. What happened? Note: I am using the full retail version, not a beta of Win 7 Ultimate. None of the other Updated HP software has this problem. HP won't help because Windows is not officially released yet. Never mind, doing a clean install of windows did the trick.

Drivers For Logitech Webcam Zoom
I have a Logitech Webcam Zoom (the white and blue model). It is USB connected. Windows 7 only detects it as unknown USB device. I found some discussion on the internet for a workaround..... - install an old driver/softwer - then install a new driver/software With that, I now have the webcam detect/showup correctly on Device Manager. The webcam seems to be functioning ok with the Logitech Quick Capture software. But I couldn't get it to work with LiveMessenger. Any idea?

LifeCam VX-5000 Webcam Not Working
I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 which was working ok. Switched the PC on the other day, now it comes up as Vega 2.0 USB camera, and it won't work with anything like the LifeCam software, Skype, MSN, etc. Tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the drivers, but it still comes up as Vega 2.0. Is it faulty? Running LifeCam 3.0 on Windows 7 RC. Edit: Just checked the driver32 folder under Microsoft LifeCam, and it doesn't list the VX-5000, just the NX and VX-6000, VX-1000 and VX-3000. Am I stuffed with the VX-5000? Of course, there's no way of submitting this as in issue any more in the Action Centre.

Issue With SideBar And Logitech Webcam
I'm used with the sidebar gadgets but since I installed my Logitech 9000 Pro webcam (and its drivers component), I ran into an error message ("gadget crash and we look to find why") and the sidebar has disapeared. After several reboots, nothing came back. When I right click on the background (desktop) then on "Gadgets", the mouse cursor goes blue (working) and then goes back to normal with nothing more. I noticed in the tasks that no "sidebar.exe" is running and when I try to launch sidebar, the LVPrcSrv.exe launches and stops (it is the Logitech Webcam stuff). Any solution?
