inside W7 my web cam is working normal inside w7 visualization even after the connection using usb connection mode it is not working.

LifeCam VX-5000 Webcam Not Working
I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 which was working ok. Switched the PC on the other day, now it comes up as Vega 2.0 USB camera, and it won't work with anything like the LifeCam software, Skype, MSN, etc. Tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the drivers, but it still comes up as Vega 2.0. Is it faulty? Running LifeCam 3.0 on Windows 7 RC. Edit: Just checked the driver32 folder under Microsoft LifeCam, and it doesn't list the VX-5000, just the NX and VX-6000, VX-1000 and VX-3000. Am I stuffed with the VX-5000? Of course, there's no way of submitting this as in issue any more in the Action Centre.

Quantum Webcam Drivers Not Working
I am having Quantum web cam. It was working on my windows vista SP1 32-bit. I have upgraded it to windows 7 beta 32-bit. As i start my web cam, blue screen error comes , that says drivers not working properly. I have uninstalled and installed again but the problem still persists. please advice me for the same.

HP Pavilion Dv5t1000 Webcam Is Not Working
I have HP Pavilion dv5t1000. I have installed Windows 7 RC(64bit) in my laptop. But my HP webcam is not working after install windows 7 RC. It was working in Vista SP1 64bit and also in Windows 7 Beta. The device manager shows that the driver for HP webcam is installed and the device is working properly. But its not working, when i open Cyberlink YouCam application it shows me a message that "Cannot connect to this video device.(HP Webcam) Please select another capture device via settings or close any application that may be using this video device and restart YouCam". I checked in Task manager whether any application using webcam but i could not found anyone.

Asus X83vb - Webcam Not Working
The laptop is an Asus N80 (X83VB-X2) the specific webcam (asus uses several) is a D-Max GD8A34 under properties it shows it's functions as "USB Composite Device" and "USB2.0 UVC 1.3M WebCam" In all messengers it just shows a black screen, when I try to use Asus Lifefram application it gives me the error that the webcam is being in use by another device. All drivers were/are properly installed, no unknown and everything else is OK. This seems to be the only problem I'm having as of right now. I found in another forum EEE PC users were able to disable the USB 2.0 function in their bios to get the webcam to work as a work around, unfortunately on this laptop I don't have that option.

MSi GT735 Built In Webcam Not Working
The webcam manufacturer is listed as Chicony ,(Sonix260) It appears in the Device Stage as "CNF7231", and in the properties window has the following device id string: USBVID_04F2&PID_B073&REV_1208&MI_00 I have tried the driver that is auto-installed by the OS, the drivers available from MSi's website, the drivers for other models in the same series (laptops with the same chassis and same webcam installed). I've tied using installers and manual installs. Tried in both compatibility mode and running as administrator, and all combinations with and without these. I tried all the drivers on sonix website and i've tried drivers from MS driver database. I've installed a play-tool called Crazy Talk Cam Suite - which reports that there is no camera found? but there is a camera, it is at least present, and drivers are loaded, and report that they are working. Microsoft LiveCam also doesn't work. Skype shows a black screen, though it finds the camera. The camera has a small yellow LED which illuminates when the camera is in use... this never goes on. I have verified that the camera is still working in Linux, so there appears to be no fault with the hardware. I notice that MANY other users are reporting that their webcams are not working - especially internal ones. Is this a problem with Win7 or the drivers?

Dell XPS M2010 Webcam Not Working
There doesn't seem to be any drivers for this integrated webcam for the Dell xps m2010 Laptop. i tried to force install a vista version, i had shockingly bad, system crippling errors i should have listen to the "not supported on your system" message. anyway, system restore solved it. so we are nearing RTM who will provide drivers for the integrated logitech camera on the dell m2010. currently using my xbox vision cam which is stunningly clear, and compatible. i am on 64bit by the way.www.falk-egg.com

Dell Inspiron 1525 Integrated WebCam Not Working
Inspiron 1525 Integrated WebCam not working in Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried reloading drivers and software. Uninstalled and re-installed multiple times. Making sure that WIA is turned on in services. Tried compatibility mode. Downloaded various driver versions from Creative's website and from Dell. Re-installed the A16 bios upgrade (as suggested by Dell). I used msconfig to make sure that no other applications were started or running. Uninstalled Live Messenger. Device Manager recognizes the camera and says that it is working properly. Despite all of that I still get the message "Camera is not available. Please make sure it is not in use by another program" when using the Dell Web Cam application or Live Messenger. When trying to acquire image with ArcSoft or HP Photo suite I get "Camera is unavailable" as well. Even in Safemode with all drivers disabled I get the same message. I used the camera just before doing the clean install of Windows 7 64-bit so I know that it is not a hardware issue, but it does appear that there is some type of hardware incompatibility issue with "7". Any ideas? Possible OS settings I'm missing?Â

Webcam, Usb Ports, And Biometric Fingerprint Scanner
First off I have a Toshiba x250-sli3 laptop and I installed windows 7 RC last night. Today I went to start up my computer and I get a message saying " Webcam driver ope fail. Please restart camera or computer" this websam is built into the computer. I have tried to reinstall the drive and it did not work. next problem are the most serious one is that non of my usb ports worked. I reinstalled the chipset driver along with the hardware driver and still they are not working. I also tried useing the troubleshoot option in the devices option and it tried to reinstall 6 usb port hub drivers and it said that they were sucessful however when I went to plug in anything to my computer nothing happened. no error message, no connection sound, nothing at all. it does not even reconize that there is anything in the port. I did get it to work once by uninstalling all of the usb drivers then intalling them all again then restarting then running the troubleshooter and it worked but when I went to try and fix another problem I had to restart and then the same problem was back. third problem is that my biometric fingerprint scanner is not working either and again I have tried to reinstall the drivers and everything and restart and it still will not work. So im out of options now, anyone have any ideas on how to fix these issues? all of these drivers are from the toshiba website and are vista drivers.

Philips SPC900NC/00 Usb Webcam / Mic Issue
I have similar problems with xp virtulisation - rather than start a new thread, I would continue with this one as the probs are similar with sound/mic.I have Q8400, GA-EP35C-DS3R, 2gb RAM, 320GB sata dual boot xp pro + W7 - bios virulisation enabled. I also have a philips SPC900NC/00 usb webcam/mic - show up in device manager under usb a/v composite device - loaded latest xp drivers into the xp mode okay, it requires attaching as a unidentified device.Device manager shows 3 unknown devices (one I suspect is the pci modem, the others may be the pci usb card, and maybe the graphics card? I added the line as above in UI_Options to the vmc file - this had the benefit in control/panel sounds of giving sb16 mic/speaker options.I tried the other options of turning the integration on/off, cold reboots etc, but I still have sound probs.I am unable to get xp mode to recognise the webcam or any options to use the mic, I do now get the terrible sb16 sound from the speakers but thats it. I have had huge probs with the XP mode, which I won't go into here as I have been able to fix most of them be starting from scratch again and again. I hope this is useful feedback - I would appreciate some suggestions as to how these issues maybe resolved? Edit: I notice in XP proper the webcam is listed in the device manager under imaging devices - maybe this is why xp mode is not recognising the webcam? I tried uninstalling the webcam in xpmode however this hangs.  I am also having probs now in getting xp mode to shut down - it is hanging (I have changed the option to prompt) I am pulling my hair out with all these issues with XP mode - it is far from being a reliable option - it has a long way to go before I could recommend to clients as a stepping stone to W7. I somehow doubt that this add-on will be ready for W7 October launch? Edit 2: I have now totally removed XP mode, as well as all files relating with the appdata folders. I have started over in a controlled manner to see where the problems lie. It does seem to be about how xp mode installs extra drivers necessary to attach equipment that is not emulated in xp mode. Step one was to update the vmc settings so thet memory and close down options were changed to 512mb and "shut down" respectively. I then ensured that Windows XP updates were fully installed first with a cold reboot after. I also checked that xpmode would shut down properly which it did. I then reopened xpmode, and installed the webcam xp latest drivers (note the the webcam video/audio work fine on both xp and W7 dual boot systems). I noticed in xpmode device manager which I failed to notice before, that although the webcam is listed it stated that no drivers were installed. I rebooted the whole system and tried again, this time attaching the webcam - same situation. I tried installing the vista drivers - no good, then tried doing a repair install of the xp drivers which appeared to partially work in that the device manager now shows the drivers as being installed (I note that native XP lists the webcam under "imaging devices" whereas in xpmode it is listed under usb a/v composite devices). However the webcam does not work with applications either in video or audio components (note at this time I did not make the changes to the UI_options as articulated above). I also noted that the shut down hanging issue is also attributable to the webcam issue - if the webcam is attached at any time the shut down hangs even in this most recent scenario - however if the webcam is not attached at any time during ax XPmode session then the shut down is okay. Any ideas?

Dell E6400 Laptop USB (Built-In) Webcam Problem
After searching the web and this forum for some answers I realized there are many many problems with USB Webcams from different manufacturers. (please see the link below). My PC is fairly new Dell E6400 Laptop (Duo II with 4GB of RAM and nVidia video card with 256MB) with integrated Creative Webcam and despite all my efforts, installing different drivers in different compatiibility modes including the one released by Dell/Creative only few weeks ago - my webcam does not work. The driver is installed and the device is being reported by Device Manager as working properly yet none of the applications such as Windows Live Messenger not Skype can utilize the video stream, reporting inability to connect to webcam and that a "different application is utilizing camera". Since I found threads regarding many different webcam vendors (including MS), PC configurations and drivers involved I suspect that this is an issue with Windows 7 itself and not the webcams nor their drivers. BTW. My webcam was properly working under Vista 64 i.e. before the upgrade to Win7 RC (7100). I am frsustrated that there is no release regarding this issue anb no available solution / fix to the problem. What is going on?

USB Not Working
I had my flash drive plugged in then plugged in my phone and both disappeared. I rebooted twice, and the computer makes the new device sound, and I can even access them in devices and printers, but not through explorer. I tried the usb in the back, I tried the usb on the monitor, I tried different usb drives, no good. The ports themselves work fine with every other usb device.

USB Mouse Not Working
I've searched the forums and found some similar situations but none of the possible solutions worked for me. My problem is that my usb mouse is correctly recognized by Windows 7 x64 (no exclamation points in device manager) but it refuses to work, the mouse arrow doesn't moves... The curious is that the first time I booted into Windows 7, the mouse worked but in the next boots I had to "Deactivate" and "Activate" the mouse in the device manager. I've already uninstalled/reinstalled the mouse and connected it to the other USB ports (wich I'm sure that works because I can connect pen drives that work flawlessly). An additional note might be that this same mouse works fine under Vista (is there a way to use Vista generic drivers in Windows 7?).

USB Not Working In Xp Mode
What do you do if there is no device manager node for usb virtualization? I can't get it working in xp mode. I get the popup that the virtualization driver is not working. Shouldn't this work out of the box? If something else needs to be installed please copy the full instructions along with the download URL for the software.

USB Speakers Not Working
Upgraded to 7 two days ago and cannot get anything out of them. Diagnostics tells me they are working and all drivers are up to date. I have tried designating them as default device and no sound comes out of the computer at all. When I designate the internal speakers as default and then plug in the usb speakers, the internal speakers continue to work but nothing comes out of the usb speakers. Does anyone know if these are just incompatible with 7 or am I doing something wrong..

USB Not Working In Win 7
I installed Windows 7 on my HTPC. But after install NOTHING USB works mouse, keyboard, wireless etc.. I had a PS/2 lying around so I used that but I'm stuck! I need that PC to view Live channels but I cant get the keyboard to work. I got the wireless wokring after updating drivers a 100 times but it stops working as soon as I connect to network. I'm confused, mainly because if the Wireless works for a second, why does it stop working? The wireless adapter is fine though(I tested it on other computer). I don't want to reinstall Vista and lose all my files(It wont let downgrade without clean install).

USB Stops Working
I have: ASUS M3A32-MVP DELUXE AMD 790FX, AMD PHENOM 9950 QUAD CORE 2.6GHZ and ASUS 3450 256MB PCI-E with Windows 7 64 Bit. I am experiencing failures on almost every USB slot. When a USB stick is plugged in it does not show the drive. It will “install device drivers” and then do nothing. I have tried with several types, and none of them are visible in either My Computer or Disk Management.

USB Not Working When Using KVM
I just installed Windows 7 Professional (64bit) on my Computer. The Computer is connected to a Belkin Switch 2 KVM using USB keyboard and mouse. Everything worked fine. When I use the KVM to switch to my Laptop everything is ok, but if I try to switch back to the Windows 7 PC only the monitor works. The USB keyboard and mouse do not work until I reboot the computer. It worked fine using the same hardware and Vista, so I suppose it is a USB Problem within Windows 7. If anyone has an idea how to solve this, this would be great.

All USB Ports Have Stopped Working
(I'm not sure if this is right forum, I'm sorry if it's not. I'm new here and the system does NOT make it easy to find out where these things should go. So I figured since I had Windows7 that I would put it here. Sorry if this is wrong.) I bought a NexxTech2 USB 2.0 4-Port Hub a few months ago. Since then everything has been fine. Until no, suddenly the hub has stopped working and Windows7 keeps telling me: Â "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned., and Windows does not recognize it." And THE ONLY advice Windows7 can give me is to replace the device! Then problems got worse. Suddenly my 320 GB SimpleTech external hard drive stopped working. Then my mouse stopped working, then my keyboard, then my Printer. These devices aren't even connected to the hub! Now none of my USB ports work! I know alot about computers, but not USB ports or drivers. Is there any solution to this other than replacing my devices?! I can't just replace my printer, external drive, mouse, keyboard! Almost all of my files are on my external drive and I needed then several hours ago.

Connect Two HP Printers Via USB, Not Working
I have a HP DeskJet 932C and a LaserJet 1200. I need to connect both to my Windows 7 system and I would prefer to use USB for both, but that is not working. When I connect the first one (either first, doesn't matter) it gets port USB001 Virtual Printer Port. When I connect the second one, it uses the same USB001 port so no matter which printer I select to print to, it always prints to the last one installed. If I connect the LaserJet via parallel, then both work, but the LaserJet takes a long time (several minutes some times) to start printing. If I could solve that issue then having both connect via USB would no longer be a concern, other than the fact that it annoys me not to make it work. Why, when I connect two printers to two different USB connectors, doesn't Windows 7 assign each to it's own USBnnn Virtual Printer Port?
