Samsung Clp 315 Color Laser Printer Does Not Work
I just bought the printer cited above, at first i could not install the 64 driver but i went to windows update and it gave me an update (driver?) for the printer, But after a reboot i lost the driver and re-installed with success the vista 64 driver from the Samsung site, but after puting the pc to sleep when re-starting i loose the driver every time.

I called Samsung but of course they won't help me with windows 7

I am thinking of bringing it back as i have 30 days and bye another brand but they are  double the price of Samsung.

Anybody would know of any solution please, it would be apreciated.

I cannot install the diagnostic program also that comes with the printer but this is miner if i can get the driver to stay.

Samsung Laser Printer - ML-1740
I really like Windows 7 so far.  MUCH more stable than Vista on my HP Laptop.  Everything has worked thus far with the exception of my Samsung Laser Printer installation.  Upon running the setup, I get an error stating that this version of Windows is not supported.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Samsung ML-1510 700 Laser Printer
Thought it might be of interest for anyone else with this 5 year old printer to know that on my system it works with XP drivers (downloaded from the Samsung site) but NOT Vista drivers.

Right-click on the driver file, select Troubleshoot Compatibility, and follow the instructions.

Headphones Don't Work
I have one hard drive that I multi-boot with XP and 7. Headphones work fine. Other hard drive is just Windows 7 and headphones don't work (speakers work fine). I have tried unplugging and plugging them in: search for new hardware and rebooting many times, all with no luck.

When I go into "sound" in control panel and unplug my speakers it tells me that there is no audio device attached (this doesn't happen on my dual boot drive) and when I try to add a new device, it searches endlessly for new devices and not only never stops, but never finds any devices.

Don't know if it matters since all of my hardware works when I use the dual boot drive, but I have a Dell XPS 720 aand an X-fi PCI sound card although the headphones plug into the front panel of the computer, not the sound card (yes I tried plugging directly into the sound card).

Codecs Don't Work
I am trying to view videos that used to work perfectly fine when I had Vista but now they don't seem to play anymore. I tried, K-Lite, Shark007, and VLC Player but none of them seem to be able to play the video. I tried installing the "official" xvid codec since that's what I assumed the format is due to it's filename (it's a video I downloaded). I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Also how would I make sure what format my videos are?

TFT Monitors Don't Work
I can see the Windows starting screen on my TFT monitors but as soon as Windows is done starting my TFTs go black. I tried connecting my old CRT monitor and it is working fine.

I´ve installed the newest ATI drivers released a few days ago as well as the update on Windows Update. Intel released new chipset-drivers for my Motherboard yestderday and I installed them as well. Still no picture on my TFT monitors.

I tried different resolutions on my TFTs (connected the CRT as first monitor and one TFT as second), same result. My TFTs are working in Safe Mode, though. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Here is my system:

Video: Gigabyte Radeon HD 4850, 512MB GDDR3, 2x DVI, TV-out, PCIe 2.0 (GV-R485-512H-B)

Screens: 2x ViewSonic vx922

Keyboard And Mouse Don't Work
I installed Windows 7 and everything appeared to be working properly. I installed it on a separate partition with Vista on my previous partition. The problems began with the mouse and keyboard not working at the login screen. After a few off and ons I got it to work. I then downloaded the latest Intellipoint and Intellitype drives (7.0) and it seemed to work fine. Then it stopped I cannot log into Windows 7 anymore. I am using wireless keyboard and mouse but I unplugged them and plugged a simple USB keyboard and mouse but the problem is the same.

They work in Vista and they work so that I can select Windows 7 or vista during boot up but neither work at the login screen.

Brightness Controls Don't Work
I have a bit of a problem with my Windows 7 install on an MSI VR321 laptop. It's got a VIA C7M 1.6GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM and graphics are handled by VIA Chrome 9 HC IGP.

Automatically installed drivers didn't work well at all: screen would flick on and off when changing programs or rolling over programs in the bottom taskbar, and brightness controls wouldn't work.

So I downloaded and installed the latest graphics drivers from the VIA website (designed for Vista). Performance is much better, but the problem remains that I can't adjust the brightness. If it were a desktop this wouldn't be an issue, but for something running off a battery you can understand why this is a problem.

Neither the keyboard shortcuts nor the brightness slider bar in the display properties will work.

Not sure what to try next.

Does anyone have any ideas or has  anyone had a similar experience?

I was previously running Windows XP, but formatted and did a clean install before putting Windows 7 RC on.

Tray Popups Don't Work
Issue 1: It should not be allowed for windows to appear under the taskbar when it is locked.  This happens frequently and with the controls on the top of windows (like the close button), I sometimes have to unlock and move the taskbar to the side, then close the window, and then move and re-lock the taskbar.  It's incredibly annoying and the OS should just not be permitting this.

Issue 2: I installed drivers for an nVidia 8500GT, then pulled the card to use the integrated Intel graphics controller.  But after doing that, I have a boomerang thing in my tray and when I click on it, it opens beneath the tray item popout container that is new to Windows7, making the window inaccessible (See screenshot).  Also, it still shows something about nVidia which is no longer installed in the system.

Intel dialog changes to nVidia after clicking?

nVidia Dialog and help but no nVidia card is installed. Help dialog titlebar is under taskbar.

Side Comment: Windows7 needs to be a highly polished OS from day one. Issues like this need to be fixed.

Taskbar Keyboard Shortcuts Don't Work
I've read that the shortcut to access items in your task bar is windowkey + (1-9) depending on the placement of the app from the start button. I've tried it, but no luck. When I press the combination, nothing happens. Does this work for anybody else? Am I doing something wrong? I love the idea of this working, but it does me no good until I get some kinda success with it.

ATi 9550 Drivers Don't Work Correctly
I'm new, I'm not english (so, I'm sorry since now if something will be wrong with the language) and I have a big problem with my video card since I installed Windows Seven.

AMD does not support my video card (an ATi Radeon 9550 256Mb) with compatible drivers for Seven. I tried to install the drivers for Xp 32bit but even if I selected the compatibility mode (in properties) for that OS, when I restarted Windows after all the driver installation process I can't see anything on my monitor, or better, I see (it's difficult to explain) many vertical lines mainly colored in white and black flashing continously.

Now, I changed the video card with another one, only to uninstall the old drivers and retry in another way. And here comes out the second problem. When I go in the Control Panel to select the windows uninstall tool he says me that it's impossible to uninstall old drivers or non-ATi drivers.

I'm looking for an external tool for uninstalling driver; I found Driver Magician. except this second problem, is there any solution for the incompatibility with my video card? (please, don't say me to change it )(I tried to search here on the forum for something, but I didn't find anything).

Realtek Drivers Don't Work In Win7 Rtm
I was a succesful tester of Windows 7 RC, where the realtek audio drivers worked flawlessly. Recently i purchased and installed windows RTM Home Premium.

If you have the following symptoms when reinstalling windows 7 RTM with the realtek audio:

- No Realtek icon in the taskbar

- Cannot active the realtek driver window from control panel.

- The windows audio playing devices do not show up when requested...

well:

For some reason, the realtek driver or Windows 7 RTM are not compatible anymore with RTM got released.

The problem is not with the driver, however, but with User Accounts Management security settings.

Install the latest driver from Realtek, which you find on the www.realtek.com. The version of the driver currently is 235.

Then, disable UAC through Control Panel -> System -> Change User Account Management, and reboot.

You'll notice now that the Realtek driver taskbar icon (the brown luidspeaker) shows up in your taskbar. Good news.

Click on the taskbar icon, and the RT driver windows shows up. In this window, you can change the driver operating from Stereo to 5.1.

Clearly, some things are wrong with audio in RTM. Because you cannot open the audio play devices dialog through the windows luidspeaker icon and right clicking the option from the menu.

So, maybe this is a preliminary work around.

EVGA NF68 Speakers Work, But Headphones Don't
I'm running on an EVGA NF68 motherboard with 680i chipset, onboard audio. I had this problem before downloading the most recent Realtek audio drivers, though it has only gotten stranger since then. When my speakers are plugged in sound seems to work fine, they're able to be configured, no issues.

But when I plug my headphones into a different audio out port (on the back, next to where the speakers are plugged in), I don't get any sound from them. However, the computer does recognize that they have been plugged in; there's just no sound. I can remove the speakers and plug the headphones into the spot they used to occupy, with the same result.

It recognizes that I took an audio device out and put another one in, but yet there's still no sound from the headphones. Prior to my installing the driver the same issues were present, but there was no indication that devices were being switched in/out. I'm positive the issue doesn't stem from the headphones themselves -- plug them into anything else and they're fine.

Outlook 2003 Message Rules Don't Work In Win7
Did a clean install upgrade from XP and installed office 2003. I used a utility called backrex to save and reinstall my office settings. Everything works fine except my message rules do not work. I get an error message similar to unable to move from inbox. I deleted all of my rules and was only able to recreate the ones going through the specified account to a folder.

All other rules attempted produced the rule but the underlined portion that you click and fill out were not underlined so it is impossible to do the rules other than through the specified account.

After finishing each rule I attempted to run the rule in the inbox to sort the emails and that failed and I received the error message unable to move from inbox. I have 47 email accounts for my businesses and for my sanity must use rules. Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know of a solution?

IPhone Don't Work - DELL USB Chipset Issue
iPhone is a Dominant Design though ;-) Started to test Windows 7 and discovered that the iPhone and iTunes got a problem with it. Windows 7 wants to install the iPhone as MTP USB Device, which fails. iTunes want's to access the iPhone (responds with Error 0xE8000065) and starts to freeze. Unfortunately the Windows Media Player 12.0.1700.0 freezes as well.

guess Apples Service and the MTP Protocol from Windows are fighting against? The MTP USB Device is always being tried to be installed by Windows 7, with no luck. Somebody has a solution for this?

Arrow Keys Don't Work With Auto Scroll Function
I use the auto scroll feature on my mouse frequently to browse web pages. Before upgrading to win 7 (and ie8) when activated I could scroll using the arrow keys on my keyboard. Since upgrading the arrow keys no longer work. You can only scroll by moving the mouse itself. That function is very important to me as it allowed me to keep my hand off the mouse reducing the aggravation of carpal tunnel syndrome. Any fixes? I am not sure if this is an IE8 problem or win 7 as I only use the function when browsing the web.

Samsung External DVD Won't Work
I did install win7 from a USB-stick following instructions on a forum, formatting this and making it bootable with all tools from the Win-7 DVD and it worked great.

But now I did get me an external DVD burner (Samsung SE S084) and would love to use it. If I plug it into my old XP notebook, it works without installing any drivers. So does it when I boot the Linux partition on my netbook, I can boot from it too,

But it just won't show in the explorer when I plug it in the netbook and boot Win7. It is shown in the device manager, it has CD.sys as driver and is reported as working fine (I don't really agree on that;-) Driver update is grayed out.

So, what can I do, besides switching to Ubuntu, to start using my DVD?
