Run All Programs As Administrator Without Having To Enable
Some of my programs only work properly when I run them as Administrator. What do I need to do to set Windows 7 to simply run all of my programs as Administrator?

Can Startup Programs Run As Administrator ?
I have a couple of programs (Logitech Setpoint is one) which need to run as administrator in order to work in some programs (e.g. Visual Studio 2005). They are set to run at start-up, however since I've set them to run as administrator, they don't run. Is there any way to get these to run at start up?

How Do You Remove Run As Administrator From A Program
I set up a program to "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" by right clicking on the program .exe (and/or the program Shortcut) and checking the "run as administrator" option under the compatability tab...to see if the program would run any better. After evaluation, I decided that the "run as administrator" option was probably not necessary for the program, so I went in and removed the checkbox....thinking that the program would no longer use the "run as administrator" option. I was evidently wrong, or I did something wrong, because the program still shows the little "administrator" shield thingy on the icon, and it still gives me a popup verifying that I want it run as administrator. I tried this with several different programs, and I get the same thing...when I want to remove the administrator privs, the program still pops up and asks to run as administrator. Am I going about this the wrong way?? or am I missing something here?? I "skipped" Vista and went right to Windows 7 x64 Ultra from XP, and I have for the most part been very happy with the new OS. I am still getting a feel for it though. Examples: I was trying to solve a problem with the game Left-4-Dead..so I took some advice from these forums and "ran as administrator". I have since solved the problem, and I would like to stop running the program as administrator.

X86 Programs Not Opening Without Administrator Privileges
Yesterday I installed my copy of Windows 7 64bit Pro, which from being a member of MSDNAA. I did a complete backup/format before install. My problem I found out was that I can't run any x86 programs without using Admin Privileges. On the taskbar I have to hold shift+left click and select "run as administrator", where I then click yes and the program runs. This happens for all x86 programs, at first I had thought it was just firefox until I experimented more, and the programs I can list are: Internet Explorer, AVG, Realplayer, Itunes, Digsby, others. What happens when I start an x86 program is that it looks like its going to load(spins the loading circle) and puts the task in taskmgr but thats where it stops. It doesn't take up cpu processes, only a small amount of memory depending on the program of course. Has anyone seen this issue, or know of a fix it would be greatly appreciated. I've searched around and seen another with the issue on Vista 64bit SP1, and with no solution.

Install Programs Without Administrator Account Or Password
I support a client and she can't have the administrator password for this PC as her boss has plenty of restricted files on the drives of this PC. He'd like her to be able to install apps though.  Even if I restrict the rights to the folders he wants to secure, she could with admin rights give herself rights to those folders. Also he tends to toss files everywhere so I can't expect the secured folders to be the only ones he needs restricted. Can I give a person rights to install apps on a standalone Windows 7 enterprise workstation without giving them admin rights?Â

Run Different Language Programs
How do i keep the OS in English, but run another program as a different language There should be an option to have a program always run as a set language I would like to be able to run an English, Japanese and Korean program side by side, not reset the computer just to run one app. I Know about applocal, but some times it does not cut it and the program fails to run properly. Windows should let me run a program from any country, not just one at a time.

Sound Drivers = Only Able To Run Programs As Admin
When I install the drivers for my HTO Striker 7.1 and restart to complete driver installation, suddenly, I can only run anything if I right click and Run as Administrator.. not even Firefox. Its annoying to have to get the gray User Access Control screen everytime I want to do something, as well as having to right click and left click just to start a program. HTO Striker 7.1 drivers on their site are listed as being good for Windows 7 x64. What could be happening here? Has anyone had this problem?

The Ribbon Interface Will Be In ALL Programs That Run On Win7
It's called the Scenic Ribbon and you can already see it in Paint, Wordpad and Movie Maker. The Ribbon originated in Office 2007 and has been improved even more in Office 2010. Untill now it has only been a part of Office however starting with Windows 7 the Ribbon will be a part of the Operating System. That means any programmer will be able to add the ribbon to his program instead of the current menu bar. Microsoft envisions a future where all programs running on Windows will have a ribbon instead of the menu bar.

Run 16-bit Programs From A Command Line
Since DOS 2.0 I have written and collected command line programs. Many do things not possible without command line support. Such as run an Assembler and editor from a .BAT file (I use A86 if you want to search for it) to created and run handy small .COM programs. But none of these 16-bit programs work on my Vista 64-bit. A friend has the same computer I have, but with Vista 32-bit and he verified a few of my .COM programs worked fine. ? Would I be able to install Win 7 32-bit and run them?

Can't Install Programs From Run DL Option In 7077
Not sure if anyone's reported this yet, but I did a clean install of 7077 on my backup computer and anytime I start an application download and select "run" from the download menu, it downloads the program but will not start it, I have to go back and save the file, and run the .exe from there. Anyone else run into this and found a fix?

Issue: Fresh Win7 Install; Cannot Run ANY Programs
I downloaded Windows 7 from MSDNAA from my school and burned it to a blank DVD (4.90GB I believe is the capacity). Everything seemed to work fine and the burn didn't seem corrupted even when I burned it at full speed, so please keep this in mind for the following issue. After I successfully installed Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit on my system, I ran into an issue. Certain programs will not open or execute at all, whether it be a setup file or even Internet Explorer 8. Windows Media Player opens sometimes, but bugs out too every now and then. This is hindering me because since this is a fresh install, that means I cannot begin to install drivers such as the latest Catalyst drivers for my HD 3870. Even if I open it as Administrator, it does nothing but show the usual "Processing" mouse animation spinning symbol and after a while, nothing shows up. I checked the task manager and I see it is still running, but since I don't see anything, I have to kill the process. Again, this happens with more than 50% of the Application files/Programs that I have tried and this is a fresh install of Windows 7. I have tried to re-install Windows 7 again to no avail. One weird error message I got was when I tried to open the sample "Wildlife in HD" video just to test it out: "Server Execution Failed". I don't know what else to try and right now I am using my laptop with Windows XP to use this forum since I can't even open my browser on my desktop. Is there a way to solve this problem? Sorry for my first lengthy post, but I wanted to provide as much detail as possible. And I think my specs should show below since I filled that part out....does it?

Most 32-bit Programs Won't Run In RTM
I've been using Win7 since the beta, and not once have I had this problem 'till now (and I've used builds 7000, 7100, 7229, and 7260 without issues). But starting with build 7600.16384 (I have the RTM now (7600.16385)), I've been having trouble getting 32-bit programs to work. At first they were slow to start--now they won't start at all. Originally I could work around it by running them apps as Admin w/compatability for Vista SP2, but now even that doesn't work. 64-bit apps startup fine (Photoshop, IE8, any built-in app, etc.), but anything 32-bit will just sit in the Task Manager all day, with the memory usage never above 3-4MB, and simply fail to start. No error messages, no abrupt termination, just nothing. The only exceptions have been FL Studio 8 and Steam (but Steam games won't run), both of which run perfectly despite being 32-bit. I can only last so long using IE and not being able to play any games.

Some Programs Won't Run/install, Explorer Slow, Ect.
It was all fine until yesterday. I copied over a game from my laptop the night before (I just installed 7 on this computer recently, was copying over stuff from my laptop) and also finished installing World of Warcraft and not long after I turned off the computer. The next day I switched it on and didn't notice anything at first but some programs wouldn't run (Winamp would have a blank space where the music list normally is). I tried installing some virtual drive programs such as magic disc and power iso which I usually use for isos I rip onto the computer (I lost some discs before so I've been doing that recently) but the magic disc programs wouldn't run properly and power iso wouldn't progress during its installation. I tried installing some anti spyware like AVG and Avast (Spyware doctor detected 300 odd tracking cookies that appeared in the past week I installed, way more than it did with my vista laptop) but they would just either not respond (and then pop up with a message saying it took a while and wouldn't respond) or just not even progress when it was installing (on the part where it begins putting down files) Explorer itself is slow and takes a while to load when on "My computer" and usually wouldn't display USB drives. Once it did but it didn't actually open it up when I clicked on it and prevented the window from responding. I have used task manager to close all these down when they wouldn't. When I tried switching off my computer it just stayed on the logging off/shutting down screen. I tried leaving it overnight, expecting it to finally switch off but it only ende up going into sleep mode (and popped up with the log in screen when I waked it up) I have switched the computer off and on a few times but its still the same. I also got the disc I used to install and tried to repair it but it wouldn't boot from the disc when I switched on the PC and when I opened it up and ran the setup file, it came up with the usual "are you sure you want to run this" dialog and didn't do anything.

Cannot Run .Net Framework Related Programs (Visual Studio Crashes)
I have just received a brand new Dell XPS 435 PC. I have just installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate and Installed all Windows Updates. There is a problem with .Net related programs. - I started by installing SQL Server 2005 x64 Client Tools (SQL Server Management Studio). The setup program crashed while installing the client tools. I checked the event log and there are errors reported by the .Net Runtime Optimization Service. I uninstalled SQL Server 2005. - Then I installed Visual Studio 2008. When I start Visual Studio, it crashes during the splash screen. - I found out about Aaron Stebner's .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool (http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8999004.aspx). I ran the tool and it reports that the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 test fails. The log reports this error: [10/14/09,15:23:17] ****ERROR**** File C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv3.5Windows Presentation FoundationNPWPF.dll is not installed on the system (Let me know if you need the full log.) - There are a lot of errors in the event log. They are about mscorsvw.exe crashing and about the .NET Runtime Optimization Service failing to compile some files.

SCCM SP1 Client - Config Mgr Icon - Run Advert Programs Icon
I have SCCM SP1 Client installed on my Windows 7 Enterprise PC. Normally the "Configuration Manager" Icon and the "Run Advertised Programs" Icon display in Add/Remove Programs or in the case of Windows 7, "Programs and Features". These icons are not visible in "Programs and Features" although the SCCM Client ccmsetup.log says the SCCM client was successfully installed. Is this a glitch or are these icons now displayed elsewhere?
