Verizon Phone, USB Connection Fails - LGE CDMA Device
I have a Verizon LG Phone, ENv2. I purchased the USB Cable and software for the phone so I could copy music and photos from my PC to the phone. Under Vista, when I plugged the phone in, the phone appear in Windows Explorer. Pretty simply. Under Windows 7, It does not appear in Windows Explorer. When looking the the Device Manager, the phone appears under Modems (LGE CDMA USB Modem), Ports (LGE CDMA USB Serial Port COM4) and USB Controllers (LGE CDMA Composite USB Device). It does not appear under Disk Drives, not sure if it should. Fash Drives appear there when I plug them in. When I plug the phone in, the synch screen comes up on the phone and they says Connect Failure. I have tried removing the device drivers and reinstalling from scratch. No success. Any other ideas?

USB ZTE Modem Driver
I have a problem, with a USB modem, the USB ZTE modem, Type MODEM 3G multi-mode, GSM / GPRS / EDGE / WCDMA / HSDPA. This device is not identified by the system. As you plug it in, nothing happens because windows doesn't recognize it at all as a modem. The driver doesnt work. I supose It will need a brand new driver in order to work. So Microsoft windows 7 developers, wake up and begin to work on a solution. This kind of modems are getting more and more used.

Huawei E169 USB 3g Modem Driver
I can't get my Huawei 169 modem to function in Windows 7, I've tried both build 6801 and 6956 -same result As soon as I plug the modem in Windows 7 recognizes it as a usb disk, I can access the disk and launch the on board installer. I've downloaded the latest driver from the Huawei site, but the installer fails with the error "can't find any modem" If I do a hardware scan in the device manager only the usb disk turns up, but not the modem. I'm using this modem on this laptop in both WinXP and OSX without any problems, so the modem and PC is allright... Is there any special windows 7 services that I need to start?

USB Modem Driver USBSER.SYS Does Not Install
The company I work for has a product with a USB Device port implementing the CDC class. Our driver is based on Microsoft's USBSER.SYS driver and we provide the specific INF files so that our product installs as a virtual COM port or as a Modem. It works well on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit versions but I fail to install the same driver for the Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise trial version. The error message is: Windows was unable to install your unknown device. Windows could not find driver software for your device. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software. Does anyone have any insight on the possible reason for failure and how we can fix our driver?

Modem Driver Problem / Samsung Rant (M540) Phone
i just installed Windows 7 64bit. I use a Samsung Rant m540 Cell Phone for my Internet connection. I cant get high speed on my road so its alot better than dial up, anyway ive used it for a few years and now i cant seem to get it installed. It works fine on other comps and i had a driver for win xp 64bit that works. I got it installed on the windows 7 and it shows up as the modem and says its working properly but it wont respond when i try to query the modem or connect to the Internet. Im pretty sure i just need a driver for the windows 7 for the phone as modem. But Sprint does not have a driver or program which supports it and neither does Samsung which created the phone. I googled for at least 5 hours with no success ive tried a few different drivers and no luck.

Driver For Internal WWAN Modem On Sony Vaio VGN-P19VN/Q
I suspect the answer to this question is 'wait for the launch date' but thought I'd try anyway. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-P19VN/Q - the little one with the Intel Atom processor and built-in 'everywair' wireless adaptor. Performance has always been a little 'iffy' with Vista, so when the RTC beta version of Windows 7 came out, I installed that as an up-grade and was really pleased with the performance improvement. Since then, my employer, a University, has decided to jump straight from XP to 7 and we got hold of the 'Enterprise' version of 7 a little while ago. I installed this on my P-series with great glee, but, unfortunately, was unable to perform an upgrade from the 'ultimate' beta to the 'enterprise' copy, so had to do a clean install. All went well and everything works fine except the 'everywair' modem, which comes up as an 'unknown device' on the system info and I've tried everything (in terms of driver detection software, downloading and installing the vista drivers etc) to get it back up and running. I also have an 02 usb stick modem, which I;ve managed to get to work via a manual set up and a bit of tweaking, and the standard wireless card works fine, so I'm not destitute, just annoyed that one aspect of a very useful little machine doesn;t function anymore. As I said, I suspect the answer is 'wait for Sony to release the driver, you impatient early-adopter' but thought I'd just check! Sony, interestingly, haven't replied to my support query!

RAID Driver Problem Upgrading Vista 32-bit To 7 32-bit
I am trying to do an in-place upgrade, and I am not able to do so. I am getting conflicting reports from the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta" application, and the actual installer. The installer is telling me the following: The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue. For these items, make the following changes: Install updated drivers for the following devices. Open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers". Storage controllers: AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller Upgrading Windows will affect the following features: Windows Vista Ultimate Extras have been discontinued and will no longer be available after upgrading to Windows 7. Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs: These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.) ATI CATALYST Install Manager However, the upgrade advisor is giving it a pass: There are some issues you should take a look at before installing Windows 7.
