View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 in my PC. My old OS is XP. After I installed it, I can't connect to the internet because it says that no drivers are installed. Sorry but I don't know anything about the mb and etc. but my network adapter is built-in. So now I can't update other drivers...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Dell Inspiron N5110 i7 and with 8Gb RAM and I have replace DVD drive with SSD disk in caddy, and that this is working fine ( when formatting I can copy files), also I have selected AHCI for SATA controller in BIOS. After that my plan is to put Windows 7 on SSD disk. So I have make one USB flash with Windows 7 installation from iso file.
Then during installation when I got to point to select SSD disk as disk where OS will be installed I receive message: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu." What I need to do, I have formatted SSD disn with HTFS, I have leave it blank, I have tried all possibilities.
How can I uninstall a Gigabyte raid contoller without crashing my Win 7 OS? Uninstall is being prevented because "the OS is on the contoller"! Win 7 64 bit is on a Crucial SSD boot drive and AHCI is set in BIOS. However the raid controller is setting all internal drives to SCSI!

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then my WiFi stops working, and if I go to dev mgr, the General tab tells me that "No drivers are installed for this device" for device status. On the other tabs, however, I have all the details on the installed driver, and if I ask Windows to update the driver, it tells me that the best driver is already installed. The problem is solved by rebooting, but I find that annoying. I'd like to figure out WHY it does that. I've saved earlier versions of that particular driver from over the last three years, and the problem occurs with all of the drivers. This is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system. The driver is an Intel driver; the one installed at this moment (it just happened again, and I have not rebooted, since I had a powerline enet outlet handy), and the version of the Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN is 14.3.1. I have other versions of that driver saved, from 13.2.1.5 to 15.1.1_Ds64. I had reverted to the 14.3.1 because the more recent versions seemed to be worse about the driver disabling itself or whatever it is doing.Coincidentally with this, the event viewer shows that mmc.exe was terminated because it was hanging. I had just run sfc yesterday, and there are no corrupt files that Windows cannot fix, and there weren't even any corrupt files that it DID fix.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a Cyber Power Pure Sine Wave UPS and it is working great except for one exception. Whether or not I use the included software, after my computer wakes up from sleep mode, windows cannot communicate with the UPS.
With the included PowerPanel software, the PC still things the device is charging if I cut the power after sleep mode. Without the software, windows reports that the battery is plugged in, not charging.
Since the UPS is connected via USB, I have tried disabling "USB selective suspend" in power options, as well as unchecking "allow windows to put device to sleep" for all USB ports in device manager.
Win 7 64 bit system ... Attached Seagate external hard drive but find it very slow to transfer files to and from. Its painful to wait for files to cross and the drive itself is so slow to open. Tested it on older Vista OS machine and works perfectly.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI attempted to start up yesterday and got "Unexpected I/O error has occurred. Status 0xc00000e9" and some message about "Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer" even though I had no USB devices connected at the time. Startup repair spins indefinitely.
I installed another hard drive in hopes that I could run some diagnostics. I can get to a driver-less version of Windows on the extra hard drive and I can see the data on my inaccessible drive - so I know it's there. I just can't boot it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I did a clean install of Windows 7. Now I have a problem. The computer is a wireless 'client'. It has a Realtek RTL8168D/8111D PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20).
When I bring up Device Manager and expand 'Network adapters' I see "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller".
When I expand 'Other devices' I see "! Network Controller" (Note the exclamation point.) Double click on that and I see "The driver for this device is not installed. (Code 28). When I click on Update driver I get a message Can't find a driver. I have tried many times with different source folders and files and nowhere is a driver found.
I have gone to MSIs driver web page and downloaded the Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Driver for Windows 7 32/64 bit "realtek_pcielan_7_nb.zip", extracted the files and still no joy. (M/B is MSI G41M with Intel E7400)
There is a wireless icon in the tray. I click 'Open network and sharing center". No matter what I choose Windows 7 ends up telling me to plug in an Ethernet cable. No, this is a client not the server. I have verified that the NIC can connect to the computer with the Ethernet cable by using the old XP hard disk.
Any suggestions?
