Dec 2, 2012
I have wired internet broadband connection .After rebooting the computer,i can not not connect to the internet .while trouble shooting the networker adapter in device manager,i got message that local area connection does not have a valid ip configuration The detailed ipconfig are given below

One of my computers is getting the "local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration" error from troubleshooting my network. My network is an "Unidentified Network" with NO NETWORK or INTERNET ACCESS. This happened ever since I installed a new modem. The modem is WORKING with all other computers. My NIC card for the computer that is not connecting, is also working since I tested it on another modem. I had to call the ISP to activate the new modem. I spoke with them and they said nothing is blocked on their end.So I've narrowed it down to my computer since there is no hardware issue. I connect by LAN, FYI. I've tried new cables, etc. My computer has no "BONJOUR" in it nor does it have any firewalls set up, just Windows Security Essentials.I noticed in my IPCONFIG /ALL that no IP shows up for my default gateway (should be 192.168.0.1). DHCP is enabled. I tried static IP as well to no avail.
Having a problem connecting to the internet with a Ethernet connected desktop. I am getting the following error '"Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration'. I have tried everything I have found on internet using my laptop with no success. This is in an apartment building so no access to the router.
What I've tried: - Laptop works when connected to the same ethernet jack - Desktop does not work when connected to another ethernet jack - Reset winstock and ip/tcp stack cmd "netsh winsock reset catalog" and netsh int ip reset reset.log" - Reinstalling drivers - Do not have bonjour dns services - Reinstalled windows 7 not formatting
I've been at this all day its a brand new computer(that might be the problem right there but i doubt it) I tried renew and release method and have unidentified network Public network as well even though i do not have wireless on the comp. The local area connection says no network access as well. Every other computer currently works wired or wireless so i know the ethernet isn't the problem either.

sometimes my Internet doesnt work. When I check for errors it says "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid ip configuration. When I restart my computer sometimes it works but sometimes it doesnt. I am not using a router, coz I live in hostel and they provide me the internet, I just hav to connect the LAN cable to my laptop. And when Im having this problem the internet connection is named "unidentified network".
Im having intermittent network/internet problems on my dsl wired ethernet connection. Sometimes the internet works fine. Other times the internet is really slow or the network says unidentified network. I run the troubleshooter and it resets the local area connection adapter, giving the error that LAC didnt have a valid IP configuration. But this fix doesn't seem to last more than a day or so. Also, downloads with windows firewall and/or zonealarm firewall on fail or are interrupted, but not when firewall is turned off. Ive tried a clean install of Windows. Reinstalled drivers. Reset the modem. I tried ipconfig /renew. Nothing seems to work. Windows 7 home premium 64 bit Realtek RTL8111C Gigabit Ethernet All my drivers are updated.

I got a new laptop a couple days ago. It was for work so I brought it to the office. We have an open network in the office, you just need to plug into it with a regular cable. We've had it for years and it always worked. Not this time. When I'd first plugged it, it came online, but the connection had been lost in a couple minutes. When nothing obvious worked, I tried to diagnose and got the infamous "Local Area Connection doesn't have valid IP configuration" error. I've googling it ever since, trying to do everything possible to fix this. The network adapter is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I've tried using different cable, restarting the router, all the ipconfig stuff, resetting winstock etc. I've formatted the hard drive and installed Win 7 from scratch. I've checked the BIOS - it only has one LAN-related setting and it's enabled. I've been to Realtek website and downloaded their latest drivers. The latest one is from JanFinally I've seen a few thread suggesting that this whole issue is router-related. So I brought the laptop home to try it there without any router in the way. It was pretty much the same - got connection, working for half a minute, gone. Diagnosing got me the same error. I've tried disabling ipV6 and playing with adapter configuration, but it didn't change much.
At home i only have a wifi internet connection and i dont have a reciever for my desktop so i was using my laptop to share the internet connection through a Lan cable But today all of a sudden my desktop cant connect to the internet anymore because "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration" I have tried all the solutions i could google but nothing helped Heres the ipconfig /all from my desktop:

(btw im not sure if i did the static IP solution right because How to Assign a Static IP Address in XP, Vista, or Windows 7 - How-To Geek just shows the "how to" but no the rules that govern the process so i might have screwed up)
I have a NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mpbs Ethernet Adapter. It was working for about a year, but one day it just quit on me. My computer and router are recognizing each other because there is a green flashing light on it, however I have no internet connection. It tells me that it is an "Unidentified Network" with no internet connection. When I run the Microsoft troubleshooter, I get the message "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration". I have even tried stopping the Bonjour DNS service responder, and that has not helped. I know this is not a hardware issue, because the lights are flashing and the computer recognizes an ethernet connection. I have a 2Wire router/modem.
I have a windows 7 64bit PC. Recently my internet cut out and it sait "Unidentified network No Internet access". I tried the troubleshooter and it told me that my Local Area Connection Doesn't have a valid IP configuration. I have searched up many solutions and none of them worked. I'm typing on my laptop which has internet connection. Oh and my PC is using cable internet that's connected to a internet hub that's connected to a modem.
I using a wired connection to a sky router, all was working fine till i got no internet connection, it keeps saying "local area connection" dosent have a valid IPconfiguration. I have explored many causes and keep getting PNRPsvc or p2pimsvc could have a problem.i need my pc back online. All the other laptops and notebooks work fine via the wireless connection but the main pc does not?
My friend's computer lost access to internet because of "local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration". What can he do to fix it? ipv6 connectivity
i was able to connect my pc to internet through cable to my laptop which is connected to a wifi network, but after reinstalling windows to my laptop now i cant connetc to internet from my pc. laptop is still connected?
No ip config - local area connection adapter--says reset local area connection adapter-- I sometimes get online by going inti internet options and system fix- but I never am able to simply get online with out this.
Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Psuedo_interface: Media state Diconnected Connection Specific DNS suffic .:
I have three othe rPC working fine on same router. I have changed the cables several times. This problem came when I tried to fix a problem with Network Magic a cisco product. I have read all the posts but can't fix this thing I have tried assigning IP address manually It is now on automatic again ( Ipv4)
My internet has been working fine for the last few years, but todat my internet as suddenly stopped working and i haven't changed anything. When i try to use a cord to get internet i get Local area connection doesn't have a valid Ip configuration and when i try to use wi-fi it says dns servers arent responding. Right now the only way i can get internet is by directly plugging in my "internet cord" into my laptop and anything off of routers or wifi will not work.
my internet is more or less dying I can't for a period of time connect to the internet and when i go to the network and sharing center it doesn't identify my network even though I use it on a daily basis and have used it and identified it as my home network for eight months now. if I use the windows network diagnostics it gives me either the error in the title or it says "the dns server isn't responding" i have attempted to fix that problem by giving it a dns to use and have tried to set a static ip but nothing has worked. here is the text from the command prompt when i use the command ipconfig /all C:Windowssystem32>ipconfig /all
I have no access to the internet through ethernet. It says "local area connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.I tried rebooting modem and laptop, using different operating system, "ipconfig /release", then "ipconfig /renew". Is there anything else I could try?
Yesterday and today, my computer randomly disconnected to the internet and when I tried to troubleshoot the problem, it fixed the internet connection and told me that:"local area connection" doesn't have a valid ip configurationWhat does this mean, why is this happening. I know it's not a big deal. but it stats to get really annoying >.>. Is someone trying to hack into my computer
one day about 2 weeks ago, my net stopped working just randomly. I get the error 'Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP' when i try to use the router, and some 'unidentified network' shows up, i cannot connect to it.I reset everything and unplugged everything but couldnt get it to work until i unplugged from the router and plugged my computer directly to the modem. A good fix to get the net going in a pinch but it has become a real problem with me, my husband and my kids all using one computer when we're used to having our own. You cant even imagine the drama.I've tried everything i can to fix it, usually google gets me through anything i cant fix on my own and i did come across a few other people having my problem, they all seemed to fix it by disable a bonjour process. I had the same service running but their trick to disable it didnt fix my problem, it is still exactly the same.Another suggestion was to get rid of windows 7 driver for the network card and use the vendors own driver, tried that, made no diff either. also tried rolling back to several different times but for some reason the process failed.
I Recently bought and hp windows 7 computer 64 bit and it was fine but two weeks later it does this it was working few hour ago and now it said this "Local Area Connection" Doesn't have a valid ip config". What does that mean? I turned off the router, modem did a pc recovery and I also waited.
This is the error I got, and I couldn't connect to the internet. ""Local Area Connection" Doesn't have a valid ip config. It also stated that I had an unknown network, and I couldn't get an IP from the DHCP Server for some reason.I used the 'netsh int ip reset c: esetlog.txt' method in the command prompt, and after I restarted, it still didn't work, so then, I remembered about an old computer in the garage with an ethernet card in it! So, I put that old dusty card it, and plugged my cable into it instead of the default on my motherboard. After a min of it trying to find and install a driver, it failed, and I still couldn't connect. So, I decided to plug it back into the motherboard ethernet if the card wasn't going to work, and whala, it worked.
I got that message when I did the basic troubleshoot for my connection. The internet was working earlier this morning, and has been working for the past few months, but when I got back home today it just, seemingly randomly, stopped for no reason.Yes, I know there have been lots of people asking about this problem, and I've tried a few different things, but I just can't get the internet to work.I'm pretty sure it's not the router, a computer with WXP works just fine, as well as Xbox Live. Ipconfig in command prompt came up with 169.254.187.196 as Autoconfig IPv4, if that makes a difference. My only active network is an unidentified, public network.I've reset PC, modem, and router. Ping 127.0.0.1 was successful, so does that mean it isn't the NIC? The NIC is, I believe, a Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet. I didn't have the option to rollback drivers so I guess that won't work =/.
There have been already few threads open for this topic not only on this forum but on different ones around the world, however the problem is still not solved, thus I decided to open a new topic and solve this problem once and for all. Here is the problem: I cannot connect to my wired network, it is stuck for a while at 'identifying' and then it says: " "Local Area Connection 2" doesn't have a valid IP configuration Not fixed "I have tried restarting the laptop, turning off/on the router and modem, manually assigning ip address, disabling/enabling network adapter, disabling/enabling TCP/IPv6,
1.Right Clicked Local Area Connection
2.Clicked Configure
3.Advanced Tab
4.Highlighted Network Address and changed value by entering random 12 alphanumeric characters (i used 02EF22FD2310 from the top of my mind)
i get these two notification with my internet. To be more specific it's these two:Local area connection doesn't have a valid ip address and The default gateway is not available.I tried several things from other posts but that was unsuccessful like:Disabling and enabling my network adapter and trying to find a Bonjour thing in my services. How i am connected:The basic modem connects through wire to another Ethernet switch and from there i go with an ethernet cable to my PC. {i also have a wireless router connected there for wifi connection to be available but that doesn't seem to be a problem for me}Anyway i found to unplug the switch to be working most of the times to be working."the reason i use a switch is because i am subscribed to some channels from my internet company that the tv-box must have a static ip if i am correct and connecting it directly to the wireless router found not to be working".
