Intel 852/855GME On Vga Driver
For the life of me I can not understand why a card that is capable of fairly high performance only installs at 800x600.
While working with the WDK I found that the card does not directly AERO but the vga driver should recognize more of it's capabilities.
Could someone a little more schooled in the Voodo Magic of video drivers please include the full resolution range of the 852/855GME in the VGA Driver in Windows 7.

Intel 852GM / 852GME / 855GM / 855GME Driver
Well windows 7 brought good news to the ones who what to run the latest OS with their poor old computer. Many people have successfully installed this exellent system on their old computer, and it runs well, which is beyond everyone's expect. while there are still some old hardwares can't be supported just like my display adapter, now it's even hard for me to play a video on windows 7, though the windows automatically download a Generic VGA adapter for it , it perfoms worse than in XP. What a pity. what can I do to make win 7 perform better on my computer? Intel (r) has stopped developing new driver for this adapter, and there are not any proper drivers for windows 7.  But win 7 can run on computers equipped with this hardware! Who can tell me how to make my display adapter work normally on windows 7?

Intel 855gme Compatibility
I've upgraded an AOpen 1556 Notebook with an Intel 855gme chip-set/video-card to Windows 7. Everything works perfectly, including (on the surface) the generic supplied video drivers. However, DVD playback is very choppy and almost unwatchable. I've tried the default Windows Media Player, VLC (VLAN), and PowerDVD 7. The latter handle playback better than Media player, but all need to run at a reduced size (1/4) to replicate the quality seen on the same machine in XP. I've looked at dozens of threads explaining that Win7 uses WDDM in order for Aero to display properly, whereas the Intel 855gme is XDDM compatible only because of hardware constraints. My question is; why does this affect DVD playback? I don't mind not having Aero, but DVD playback on Vista and Win7 is very poor on slightly older video cards (even with updated drivers). XP running on the same machine gives flawless full-screen playback. Vista & Win7 just can't handle it - even when drivers are installed with compatibility for XP SP2 or 3. I'm amazed Microsoft or Intel find it impossible to address this. Also, with generic drivers some applications don't install because they can't identify the video driver. Is there anything in Hardware acceleration etc - or anywhere else that might help this?

1280x1024 32 Bit With Standard VGA Driver
Is there any way to force the Standard VGA Driver to display in 1280x1024 32bit? If I look at the modes available, then I find 1280x1024, but only in 16bit. I have an old Nvidia GeForce2 MX/400, and after installing the XP drivers I was able to run at 1280x1024 in 32bit, but I was getting some crashes in nv4_mini.sys when trying to install DVDFab. "The Internet" tells me that this is due to the XP drivers, so I uninstalled them again and rolled back to the Standard VGA Driver and was able to install the software. But now I am limited to 16bit again. So, is there any way to force this?

Updated Resolutions For Standard VGA Driver
It's been what... 10+ years of the same "Standard VGA Driver" which used to serve a more useful role when screens were smaller, but these days in the age of laptops, the resolutions it supports are just not working. We use several medium age laptops (3-5 years), still 64 bit, still multi-core, and certainly not beyond their prime, unfortunately NVIDIA doesn't produce windows 7 drivers for the vid cards in our machines (GForce 440 Go). The only driver that really works is the Standard VGA Driver, but it only supports standard resolutions from 10 years ago, the largest being 1024x768. This means we just can't use Windows 7 on any of these machines, which we were hoping to do, simply because the SVD doesn't offer 1280x800. Couple questions, has anyone produced a customized version of the Standard VGA driver? Or an Standard WXGA Driver? Or is it possible to add resolutions ourselves to the standard driver that would solve this seemingly simple problem? Last, why hasn't Microsoft updated the supported list of resolutions to cover at least the basics for laptops or even the base screen resolutions of any modern LCD screen? Again, love Windows 7, just wish we could use it on all our machines!

StarTech USB 2.0 VGA Driver Problem
I have a StarTech USB2VGA2 Adapter, which enables me to add an extra monitor to my Laptop dock via USB when working in the office. Unfortunately the hardware/driver gives me an issue. If I install the driver, then plug in the USB hardware all seems fine, but after the mandatory reboot the laptop will bluescreen in Win32k.sys after logon. As the driver is stated as a vista driver and I know it worked fine with Vista on the same hardware I have tried installing it in Vista compatibility mode. I have also tried using Vista Compatibility mode and running the install as an administrator. The vendor seems to be unconcerned and said they were waiting on a driver from the chipset manufacturer and had no ETA. Any suggestions as to how to get this working would be appreciated, or alternatively how I could get the extra monitor up and running cheaply on my Lenovo T400 Dock without using the StarTech USB device.

Standard VGA Driver Doesn't Support DVD Playback
My old ATI RADEON Mobility 7500 graphics card is not supported in/under Windows7, so I use the rather fine MS-provided Standard VGA driver. Unfortunately this approach doesn't support DVD playback in Windows Media Player: Each time I insert a DVD and WMP starts playing I get an error message that analog copyright protection is nott supported by the driver. Now: Can't the Standard VGA driver be corrected/extended thus that it would allow/support DVD playback? It's entirely up to MS (e.g. to lock the VGA output during DVD playback) from my point of view ..

I cant find on Gigabyte site (though they say the motherboard is W7 ready), and not on the Intel site. Would using the Vista driver, installing with flash drive during installation, work?

Intel D945gnt Audio Driver
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit build 7600 on my machine and I'm having a problem with the OS not even recognizing my Audio hardware. I've visited the Intel site and I don't see any available options for drivers there...just the following: RAID: Intel® Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Intel Desktop Boards I've pulled this down and I'm not quite sure how to install or if this will even correct my problem. All I'm seeing is a red X over the audio icon and when I hover over it I get the message "No Audio Output Device is installed." I had no problems with the device with XP 32 bit. Any suggestions?

Video Driver For Intel D845GEBV2
My screen resolution is 640X480 in windows 7. I have an Intel D845GEBV2 and I am trying to install the Video Driver of this onboard video card. When I try to install it, it says: Your Operating system is not supported". Trying to install it with Compability test didn't work. When I tried to install it from the Update Driver in the Device Manager and then Locate the driver's folder and install it, it seems like it installs it but when windows restart, I can't see anything, black. Restarting windws 7 loads it back to 640X480. Any ideas how to fix it? Any drivers for windows 7 with this motherboard?
