Hp Pavillion Dv5000 Problems
So I just installed windows 7 recently on my sisters HP pavillion dv5000 There are a number of problems. First the keyboard is wack. After I type a few words it'll jump to a middle of a sentence before or 2 words before and start from there as I type. like I'll write hey how are you and it goes between h and ow and starts the cursor all the way over there or it'll be gone and start no where. and it'll go to the post button or something. Another issue but not as big is the fact that there is a mute button if you are familiar with the HP pavillion DV5000 and when you press it the light goes on, if you turn on the mute. This always happens. It happened when I still use windows XP, now that I changed it to windows 7 however it no longer works. If I press mute or even if I don't the button is not turned on. Any one can help? ESPECIALLY with the wacky keyboard situation. I can't type anything without it going back midway and start to type out of the wrong section of it. Sound Issue: whenever I hibernate then restore windows the sound is gone! I cannot get it back unless I restart my PC.

Toshiba Laptop Will Not Sleep, Or Hibernate. Just Freezes
I just performed a clean install of Windows 7 Professional (64bit). After installation the system will not go to sleep, neither after timeout or manually. The screen will turn off and the hard drive activity will go up then stop, but the system will not sleep (no sleep blinking light) My keyboard FN buttons light up, the optical drive light will come on, and pop out when I press the release button, and the illuminated media button lights are still on (usually off while sleep). However the OS is unresponsive, all I see is a black screen, the screen is not off, just black. I have to hold the power button to turn off and back on. I have installed the Win 7 64bit video drivers (ATI Mobility Radeon 3400) from Toshiba and ATI. I have reinstalled the chipset drivers from toshiba. I have disabled wake from lan and wlan in the BIOS. There is no log in the event viewer other than the system shutting down improperly, no BSOD. I didn't have this problem on the Win 7 Ultimate 32Bit Beta or RC (I used exclusively on this system since release), but with 32bit 1gig of memory was unusable (I have 4 gigs) My System is a Satellite A305-S6839, C2D T8100 2.1Ghz, 4gb Ram, 320GB HD, ATI Mobility Radeon 3400.

No Sound HP Pavillion DV1000
The volume icon on the taskbar reads "No Audio Output Device is Installed". No sound whatsoever not even out of the headphone jack. HP does not make a driver update. They told me my computer is too slow to run Windows 7. Funny, because I'm running 7 as I type this! Works great, other than this issue. If there isn't a driver, I can of course get a USB or Express card sound card, right?

Dell M1330 Laptop Won't Hibernate
I have a Dell XPS M1330, Windows 7 64bit RC1, and have never been able to hibernate it. It sleeps fine, but when I press the hibernate button, the screen fades out, turns off momentarily, then comes back to the desktop. If I have "require password on wakeup" turned on, it will come back to the locked login screen. The drivers are up to date on windows update. I have tried every combination in the "Advanced Power Settings" window, I have tried powercfg -h off and on, and setting size to 100% but nothing helped. I'm going to be traveling soon, and having the hibernate option would help a great deal. Can anyone help?

Hibernate Won't Completely Shut Down Laptop
Ok so when I had XP I would always use hibernate and only about once a week I would actually reboot the computer completely. Now that I have Windows 7 I would like to do the same. But now when I click hibernate the screen goes black and everything shuts off but the computer acts like its in standby. The lights are still on and computer is running. Once this happens I cannot get back into windows or reboot without holding down the power button to force a reset. Each time that I have done with Windows 7 boots an error saying the computer was not shutdown correctly. Anyone know why it won't completely power off when I click hibernate. I have tried it about 5 separate times and it has not worked once.

HP Laptop No Sound From Speaker But There Is Sound Through Headphone
I have hp dv1738od and have upgraded to Windows 7, previously Windows XP. Everything seem to be working ok except, for the sound. Window 7 automatically installed the driver, and said the sound card was working properly. But there was no sound through speaker. I removed the driver and reinstall the driver that I got from HP website that work for Window Vista. Installation went through with no problem and Device manager indicated no isssue on sound driver. However there was still no sound coming out from the speaker, only through headphone jack. I read tons of forums, and some has suggested that it may be the jack connection. I tried plugging in and out numerous time, and that did not solve the issue. Sound could be heard for like a sec, when headphone was being plugged out but it goes away quickly. To determine if it was hardware or software issue, i reinstalled Window XP and there was sound through speaker. So for sure it is not the speaker issue.

Unplugging Laptop Kills Sound
RC7100, Compaq nx9420 laptop. Â When I unplug the laptop from the charger, the audio device stops working. Â The device is still shown as enabled in device manager, and I can still open the mixer and change the levels, but no sound appears. Â This only seems to happen if there is an application playing sound at the time I unplug it, and closing the application seems to restore sound. Â Anybody have any ideas on this one?

Asus A6JC Laptop Sound Driver Problem
I installed Windows 7 RC on my Asus laptop and the sound driver installed by Windows during the installation didn't work. So I went to the Asus website to get the driver. After installing it, my sound card worked fine. But here comes the problem: when I restart Windows, I see the "Starting Windows" screen, and then nothing, the boot animation isn't dispayed and the HDD stops loading. The strange thing is that I can boot several times before it crashes, and the same driver worked fine on Vista and the beta. Here is my config:  -Asus A6JC laptop  -Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz  -1GB RAM  -all I know about the sound card is that it is a Realtek Any idea about what I can do, or where I can find driver that work?

Sound Drivers Issue With Compaq V5000 Laptop
Firstly, this Win 7 32bit has transformed my crappy laptop into a superstar...with the exception of sound. It will not load the sound drivers and the Vista drivers for my laptop from the HP site won't install. I get message: "error: driver installation failed: could not find the media device for this driver". Compaq v5000 w/Sempron Conexant audio DeviceID for the multimeda device PCIVEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_30AE103C&REV_02 PCIVEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_30AE103C PCIVEN_1002&DEV_4370&CC_040100 PCIVEN_1002&DEV_4370&CC_0401 I tried to load every kind of driver I found online using the Vista compatibility mode, or the "Have Disk" option. Even without sound, I'll keep this release. In 3 weeks time, I have to use this laptop to show a video on our company projector. If I don't have sound by then, I'll install XP. But I hope I can keep Win 7 on it!

Hibernate Killed The Computer
Had some issues when setting the computer to suspend. The computer didn't respond to anything, not even the reset switch worked. Cutting mains power restored the computer and everything worked fine. Then I did something stupid and tried to set the system to hibernate, just to see if that would work any better. Big mistake. Now the system doesn't respond to anything. The worrying thing is that after restoring the mains the system powers up instantly, but the screen remains blank and the drive silent, the only thing working ok are the case and CPU fans. Clear CMOS won't do anything and ripping everything but the video card of the mb didn't help either. I suspect the mb or the vga bios is corrupted beyond repair. Would be nice to know which component to change, as neither of those are too cheap to replace. I think my next system comes from Apple. Cannot afford the MS system, as this is not the first time I had issues with MS OS. W2K appeared to kill one of my previous systems. Could be that system failure and installing/using new OS is just unlucky coincidence ...

HP Pavillion Dv9000 Overheating
I have been using Windows 7 RC 32-bit from the time it was released. I had no issue with the bits. But as soon as I installed the RTM, this time, with 64-bit, my laptop is heating up so soon and fast. The fan is going full-speed but it cannot keep up with the heat. Now it is shutting down at random. Have you had any reports having similar problems like mine? Is there a solution for this? I hate to go back to 32-bit.

Install On HP PAVILLION LAPTOPS
10 days before i purchase a new hp laptop with core 2 duo processor, 4 gb ram, 512 mb video card , 320 gb har disk with windows 7 by default installed in it. but i also want windows xp in ma system for my work. because some softwares are not compatible with windows 7 like .net,oracle etc. so i have to use xp also. but when i called hp technical center they tell me that there is no option or no way to install xp on hp laptops because their hardware does nt support xp, and they said me that if i forcibly try to install xp then might be hardware will corrupt. then i se this virtual pc concept. here as one tool is given on Microsoft site to check that whether our pc supports virtualization or not . and then i download tht tool and instaall it. it gives error " YOUR HARDWARE OR PROCESSOR DOES NOT SUPPORT HARDWARE VIRTUALIZATION " something like that. how to install this virtual pc if i havng problem like that? i also go to bios option to enable the hardware virtualization but there i see there is no such option of enabling and disabling.

HP Pavillion Microphone Problem
Suddenly my microphone stopped working for both messenger and skype applications. I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC. Lots of other folks have the same complaint but no solutions can be found. Using Vista and Explorer 8 for a long time now and everything worked fine. In addition when using skype and messenger there is no sound so now i cant hear the other person. Otherwise the sound works good for youtube, etc. Don't recall making any changes to my settings that may have caused this.

HP Pavillion 751 Issues
I have an old HP Pavillion 751 desktop with a P4 2Ghz. I put a new AGP vid card in and loaded Windows 7 32bit. The OS loaded fine, but the system will not boot at all. It's just a reboot loop. I cannot get Windows 7 to even display on the screen for half second to press F8. I tried doing a startup repair also, but it will not boot. I then tried to load Vista...same exact result. I had XP running fine on here. The HD and RAM are good, no issues there. What is the reason this system will not run with either Vista or 7, even with a brand new 'aero' compatible video card?

Upgrade On HP Pavillion M9000
I installed the Windows 7 RC as an upgrade to my Vista Home Premium. I have an HP Pavillion M9000. The installation went with no problems. When I log in Win 7 starts normally, you see the desktop as it loads the icons, the log in screen for gmail shows, then a blue screen appears, but so quickly you can't see what it says. Then the computer reboots. I start the computer in safe mode with networking and everything starts fine. Where should I start looking for what is causing the problem?

Monitor Goes To Sleep When Hibernate Set To NEVER
2 hour hibernation for both CPU and monitor worked perfectly for about two weeks, waking up with a touch to the spacebar. Then a few days ago the monitor would not wake up but the computer did. Now if I turn off the AC . power to both units and then re-boot the monitor will turn on but will go back to sleep in about 15 minutes with the blue light blinking. The computer will complete a DL or backup with monitor sleeping so it appears OK. Checks so far: 1. Updated drivers for both monitor and video card with latest available. Also updated chipset and BIOS (504). 2. Swapped monitors between computers and the problem went to the second monitor. Main monitor worked all day on second computer. 3. Spoke to ASUS tech support and was told that the monitor is controlled by the OS. Suggested I enable ACPI 2.0 support (default disabled) and disable ACPI APIC Support (default enabled) in BIOS. Won't boot to OS when ACPI APIC Support disabled. 4. Found a few similar cases on the Internet but no solutions. 5. Even tried turning off hibernation and setting monitor timeouts in the Powercfg using CMD prompt. 6. Re-installed OS, big mistake as it took several hours to get re-registered.
