Screen Is Too Wide?
Nov 24, 2011My screen looks almost bloated, like the scroll bar and task bar are still too large and nothing fits perfectly on the screen, it hangs out over to the left just slightly. It's useable, just obnoxious and it looks awful. The resolution is as high as it will go and my icons are on small.

Oct 5, 2009i have a Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 Vapor-X 1Gb GDDR5 PCIe x16 card running under Windows 7 64b LAST RC7. It gets around on a ASUS M4A79T Deluxe body & a Phenom II X3 955 3.2GHz engine.
my display will not show full screen at any resolution. it leaves 2 black bars ~ 22-3" on the L & R edges only. fills to top and bottom OK.
Need Driver To Change Laptop Screen Res To Wide
May 6, 2009I have a Dell Latitude D800 laptop which is some outdated but served me well with vista. The native screen resolution is 1920x1200, and if I understand correctly the nvidia chipset is GeForce FX Go5200.
I don't need to install the native driver if I could only change the resolution to custom since nothing else appears to be not working.
The problem with the natural drivers is this: when I install the nvidia one it says I do not have a compatible chipset, so it leaves me with the D800 video driver. It has only been released for XP and installing it even with changed compatibility mode freezes my screen on startup.
In Vista no drivers were needed I just changed my resolution to 1920x1200 and all was well, what are my options in Windows 7?

Aug 30, 2011The past couple of days i've been experiencing unusual behaviour from my computer. For the past few days I've been having crashing problems. The crashes aren't all the same however; on a handful of occasions it's given the famous old 'blue screen of death' and on others my computer either just turns off, or the whole computer just crashes. I've noticed the crashes only occur when I turn the computer to 'full peformance' mode after a couple of minutes meaning I'm literally unable to leave power save mode for more than 3 minutes.
I use 'EPU-4 Engine' to switch my computer between 'power save' mode and 'full peformance' mode only using full peformance if I want to play games or install something.
I didn't think much of this at start, as i've never had these problems before 2 days ago. I figured it may have been a faulty driver, so I downloaded specific ones for hardware, but that didn't solve the problem. I then tried a system restore to restore back to a previous date presuming it may have been an update that went wrong, but nothing changed, I still got the crashes.
I run Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition,
AMD Phenom II x4 964,
ATI 5850 Graphics card,
4 GB's of Ram

But when I use fraps to take screenshot, it appears to be full screen image. So, i have to draw it out. Any idea?

I enter the same keyword (one of the words contained within the title of a completed task) in the Outlook Task search box as I do the Windows 7 orb 'search programs and files.' The Windows 7 search returns the correct search result (along with a lot other results having the same keyword) practically immediately whereas Outlook is still searching...and searching.
If I have index options set to include the C: drive and Outlook, what's going on with Outlook?
How To Regain Access To UAC (Admin Passwords)
Aug 27, 2012I created a new account for myself and made it an admin account. I then removed the admin priviliges in my sisters account. Somehow now both are standard user accounts and anything i try to do is blocked by an admin password.
Noone has ever entered a password for the admin accounts so i have no idea what this could be. It is not giving me a hint or any help at all. I would rather not have to reboot the whole thing as it's very time consuming.
Can't Regain Raid 1 Configuration On HDD 2 & Hdd 3 After HDD 1 Replace
Jun 27, 2012I was forced to replace my OS HDD after a failure. My original configuration was my OS on HDD #1 and then two 1TB HDD set up in raid 1 configuration. I purchased a Crucial 256gb M4 drive for my OS with the hopes of continuing to use my HDD #2 and HDD #3 as one drive in raid 1 for my data files. Upon reinstall Windows 7 booted right up but no longer were my two drives recognized as one drive. I went into the bios and changed my setting from ACHI to Raid and set the M4 as the first boot device. Upon restart no boot device was located and windows failed to start. I was able to <control-i> into my raid settings and the two 1TB are set up as raid 1 and the M4 is set as non raid drive. why I am not able to regain my original settings?

Aug 28, 2011After finally upgrading to Win 7 from XP, I came across a problem reclaiming ownership of my HDs. It was a 2TB Samsung HD so I was scared at first, but through Disk Management, it was able to detect it. However, I'm unable to save anything onto it because unlike the rest of the HDs that went just fine claiming ownership, this one wasn't working.The first error I got was a corrupted Recycle bin which I've tried many times to delete but no avail, thinking that was the source of the problem. I then went to DM again and noticed that this drive was listed as: "Healthy: SYSTEM, Active, Primary Partition". I wanted this HD to be for data only. Now that I've unhidden system files and folders on that drive, I tried to delete the system folders manually but again the ownership wouldn't let me.I guess the main question I want to ask is how can I remove those system files/folders (so the HD won't show up as a 'SYSTEM' drive in DM) so that it will be just a regular hard drive, without formatting or deleting everything?Which will probably lead me to ask the next question: Will doing all of this enable me to reclaim full ownership of my HD while keeping my data?

Mar 26, 2011My computer has a problem with crashing while playing a video in full screen. When it crashes the screen turns black while the speakers give out a buzzing noise. Everything is unresposive the only solution is to turn it off with the power button. It happens in any full screen video online or offline and even visualizations from windows media player and iTunes, but only in full screen. I don't think it's overheating either because sometimes it takes 30 mins to crash and other times it will crash immediately when put in full screen. *I've tried setting it back to factory settings thus reinstalling windows. *All the directx features are working with no reported problem there.* I don't think it's a memory issue in the computer, as my specs are:
Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: intel core i5 3.20 GHz
Ram: 8 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

I use my primary mostly for browsing, msn, music players, Ventrilo etc etc,I want to use my secondary Monitor for gaming Watching Videos.However, when i want to use something Full screen on my secondary monitor it goes full screen on the primary monitor.
I cant also run it in windowed mode and stretch it out to full screen, it does not allow me to do that, it goes back to the size of my primary Monitor.
Ps.I want this since i play mostly with fullscreen borderless or in windowed mode so i can still browse the internet or adjust music/ventrillo settings. I dont want to have an Taskbar below the game, so thats why i need it on the Second Monitor.

Sep 2, 2012no matter what i'm viewing, be it a video on Internet/dailymotion/vimeo/wherever or anything on vlc, the second i go full screen i notice horizontal screen tearing across the entire screen. i managed to lessen it to an extent on vlc by switching to directx output, but it still pops up on Internet videos etc.have also just started to notice it on non full screen videos.if it makes a difference it's around 2/3 of the way up the screen on online vids and 90% of the way up on vlc.i know this problem is going to be hard to pinpoint since it could be any number of things, but i have the feeling this is all because i have a setting too high/low somewhere.
