Get A Driver For The Audio On Old Asus P5L-MX Motherboard?
Mar 4, 2011
where I can get a driver for the audio on my old Asus P5L-MX Motherboard.I have a paid-for Driver Boost app that had updated all the drivers since I installed Windows 7 but even that can't find one for the Soundmax.Went to both the Asus and Soundmax sites but for the love of me can't find one.Ran the Windows Compatability Wizard that said the audio drivers would be fine when I upgraded from Vista to Seven!
OK, so I just built a new PC with an ASUS M3N78 PRO motherboard. I installed Windows 7 and almost everything works except for the sound. I have Logitech X-540 Surround Sound speakers hooked up and I installed a RealTec audio driver for Vista x64, which did nothing. Any ideas about how to get this working?
I have a HTPC setup. PC includes an ASUS MB with on-board video and audio, including options for either separated analog 7.1 audio out or HDMI out (among other output options). Current setup routes Audio and Video via HDMI to Pioneer VSX-1020 A/V receiver, and routes video from there to HDTV via another HDMI cable. OS is Win7 Ultimate x64, w/SP1.
Exact model for mb is here: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3
When I play audio files, the receiver can fake the signal into all 5 channels (I don't have a sub, so the .1 is not relevant here), so there's no issue of the receiver not accessing the available speakers.
The main issue is this: When I look into the Sound Control Panel, under Playback Devices, the active/default device is ATI HDMI Output. Also listed are Speakers (not plugged in), Realtek Digital Output and Realtek Digitial Output (Optical). I do not have any analog cables plugged in, nor do I have an S/PDIF (optical/coax) connected. The HDMI works, but only gives me the option of Stereo (2ch). When I go to the Configure screen for the ATI HDMI Output, I see a list of Audio Channels, but that list ONLY contains Stereo.
just partition my hard drive and installed windows 7 32bit. Can't seem to get the Audio working. I got some cheap brand mother board called PC Partner. Board model: RD580AK9-A79D
I tried the old Xp drivers, wont work, contacted the manufacturer, waiting for a reply, is there anything else i can do?
I've got an Asus M2N-MX motherboard without the optional S/PDIF connector. Under Vista Professional 64-bit I was able to plug my speakers into the line-out socket and get sound using the 64-bit driver from the Asus website. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit assumes I've got the S/PDIF connected so I don't get sound from the Line-out socket. I've tried installing the Vista 64-bit drivers I used before but these don't seem to work, even in Compatibility Mode. What can I do to get the sound working again?
my integrated audio is ad1985 (ASUS p4p800se), it can just work like common AC97 of no soundmax. Hardware does not support but my xp can do, i cant find upgrade drivers in Google, someone tell me how to do ?
Ok, so I just put together a new PC with an ASUS M3N78 Pro motherboard, and I installed Windows 7 onto it. I got pretty much everything working right except the sound. I tryed installing a vista x64 realtek HD audio driver from the ASUS site, and it didnt work. Any ideas?

Today i installed Windows 7 Ultimate and all worked good with drivers exept sound, have old drivers on CD but this OS doesnt support that old drivers...checked this thread (have same problem) soundmax integrated driver and tryed to install that and same still problem
Motherboard is : Asus P4P800S-X series, drivers should be from soundmax
But for the life of me I cannot find the drivers forMultimedia Audio ControllerCI Simple CommunicationsControlleriver,sisvga357a,SMAXWDM,WDM_3665,6305_vista_Win7_PG537,RealtekHDaudio6015350_Vista - For the Audio with no joy apart from the realtek which fails during installand for the PCI I have downloaded Grid.hqx - haven't got a clue how to install!! (feeling dumb)I have trawled through the asus website and driverstock and many forums who all seem to say it is a problem on the asus drivers being out of date.I still have an old Hard drive with XP on it from this desktop with all working drivers can i migrate them?
How can i get my ASUS motherboard drivers if there only appears to be for VISTA 64 bit and not for WINDOWS 7 64 bit ? im new in windows 7 and especially with the 64bit version of windows
