I'm looking for ethernet/audio driver downloads for Compaq Presario SR1520NX Desktop PC can't find any assistance on the HP or Compaq sites and computer is out of warranty. I reset the darned slow-as-all-heck to factory condition in the hope of making it somewhat useful, need it for boyfriend's internet entertainment and I can't even connect it to my router without this.

SATA hard drives and IDE hard drives both detect and are visible in Setup (BIOS) as well as in my existing Windows 7 which is on a small 37 Gb SATA. When I try to install Windows 7 onto a new SATA hard drive 1.0T it wont show up in the window to select it for installation. The next window says to brows to the device driver to install it in the system. It describes the needed driver as a 'Mass Storage Controller Driver' which I cannot find anywhere. WTF do I do ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using my tv right now with it, it works fine hooked up to a TV. I've tried everything I know of. When the laptop first starts up, It flashes the red compaq screen, then goes black. Flashes the user login screen, then goes black 2 sec later. When I do the fn+f4, the screen flashes back on, everything looks cool, then 5 seconds later it goes black again. It's not just the light, it goes completely off. (Just on the laptop, external monitor works) I've tried restoring back to factory settings, recovery, and I'm not getting anywhere! I've even tried that black screen fix by Prevx. Oh and I also tried turning the laptop off, holding the power button, etc. It has windows 7. CQ61 I think is the model.
