Where's the Win-7 driver for the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard?
Don't tell me to ask Dell or Turtle Beach because they don't have one!

I'm still looking for a worthy audio driver for the Santa Cruz sound card.
Still nothing working for the Windows 7 OS?
Answer:-
Since Windows 7 support is available at:

I suspect Windows 7 might provide a generic driver.
Suggest you check your Device Manager for a sound card listing.

I installed the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage SRM external USB sound card and as soon as it re-booted back, it crashed the system. I used the Vista drivers from the site. I disabled onboard drivers in safe mode and it crashed as well. No Windows 7 drivers available from TB at this time.
Anyone experience similar? Any workarounds?

yesterday i bought a new turtle beach PLa headset for a PS3, but on the back it said that they are PC compatible. When i plugged them in, they worked fine for the first night, but the next morning, my computer doesnt detect the headset being plugged into the usb port, I've updated, and re installed the drivers with no success, and when i go into the sound icon for playback devices, theyre are shown but underneath it says Not plugged in, i have no idea on what to do.

Like I said I have a Montego DDL, everything worked fine on XP with of course the corresponding XP drivers, however now using Seven with Vista drivers I'm having difficulties with my surround speakers. I can't get the surround speakers to do anything using windows media 12; however i've never been able to get WM to utilize my surround speakers ever (I tried though) Anyways, I then downloaded K-lite 5 (newest) and used FFDshow audio configurer to change settings of the codec which caused the surround speakers to sound distorted so I reversed all the changes that I had made.
I then decided to uninstall the device driver and allowed windows seven to detect the hardware automatically (because it did that without my consent anyways at start) All along the Vista driver allowed each speaker to operate as its supposed to through turtle beach control panel using the test feature. (Each speaker would output in the right location and whatnot) However I wouldn't get any sound coming from media. I know my control panel settings are correct and configured right.
I DID get the surround speakers to output sound using media player classic using the "audio switcher" and custom mapping the channel (actually not really knowing what i'm doing I just sorta activated every option and checked all the boxes and sound started to come out of those speakers. I'm yet to try other media applications for further results because its late and i'm sleepy.
But i'm relatively certain that the settings I configured using the audio mapper only apply when i'm using Windows Media Player Classic. Not to mention i'd THINK that audio mapping isn't a "natural" state more of a of forced operation. I never had to do all this before with XP. it just seemed to work (except not in WM, of course ) .
NOW, i'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and can offer me some help!) Also, side question.. does Windows Media support 5.1 channel speakers? I've never seemed to get it to work.

Im currently running the Windows 7 RTM, and im having a little problem with my sound driver! it keeps installing a standard driver that comes with Windows 7, and i keep getting this message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I have managed to download the latest driver for it, but when i try to manually install it/update driver, it says "the best driver is currently installed"
And the second i uninstall it, it installs it again straight away using the standard drivers that come with Windows 7... is there any way of stopping this?
This is the computer i have Shuttle United Kingdom - Home The sound card is built in to the motherboard and its a "Realtek ALC880 7.1 channel High Definition audio"
Any chance someone can help me stop it installing the standard HD Audio driver when i uninstall it, so i can just install the one i have downloaded?

I got a second hand computer with a mother board good enough to run windows 7. The sound card (do you still call it a sound card if it is on the motherboard?) gives out a very faint distorted sound. I thought this was a duff sound card so accepted it.Recently I got a window telling me the sound card wasn't set up properly, did I want it set up ? I pressed FIx and after a short while got a box up saying there was no driver for this card on windows 7.Is there any way I can get round this and perhaps use a driver for another version of windows?I have tried various helps including Microsoft and been told to click on the driver I have put on the desktop and do various things with it (or something like that, I can't find the window again) I havn't got a driver ?I can't afford another computer.I managed to download a piece of software advised elsewhere on this site and got the info that the sound card is realtek ac'97 for via(r) is this a type of sound card?
update II I managed to download and run a driver from an internet site (download cnet) for the realtek ac97 for windows 7 but it has made no difference. I have restarted the computer but the sound from the speakers is the same. Could it still be a software problem or do I have a hardware problem with the sound output?

Basically my problem is that i have an external sound card which doesn't have any drivers for Windows 7 (or Vista for that matter). I have been in touch with Mackie and they say that there are no plans to develop new drivers. Now I have gotten the basic features of the product to work by using Windows XP compatibility mode. However, i can't install the plug and play drivers which means that there are several features which I am still unable to use. Is there anything I can do to get these plug and play drivers to work? (apart from double booting with XP)

After upgrading to 7 I have been experiencing some random difficulties with my sound system. When going to my sound card properties, I notice that there is a generic name to the device, "High-Definition Audio Device". Before I upgraded (when I was on Vista) I'm sure that it said Realtek-something but I don't remember the exact device name.
I want to download a driver update for my sound card, but how do I find out which driver I need to download if the name of the sound card is not showing?

I think I got all my drivers figured out except for the sound card. I've tried the Lenovo site but it says Vista should use the Microsoft drivers and those don't seem to be working. In Device Manager I see "Multimedia Audio Controller" with the ! icon by it. "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." I search for updates and find nothing... I tried the XP version but that didn't work.

So i've had my computer for about 6 months now and everything is great apart from the fact it crashes at least twice a day.I suspect it to be my Tascam US-800 soundcard driver as it has always given me problems. When i had it installed before it use to crash if i was uploading anything to the internet or even surfing the web!Since downloading a new update that all stopped. However, now if i am watching a movie on my computer or listening to music for about an hour, the sound cuts out. If i try to restart the comp from the start menu nothing happens, no matter how many time i click restart and i have to forcefully restart the comp.Sometimes the screen just blacks out so i cant get to the restart button.I'm pretty sure it's the sound card driver but the only thing that is making me think twice is that when i am producing music on Cubase, which is 90% of the time, everything runs smoothly - not even 1 error. Is there any way to see what is causing these crashes?

I'm looking for Windows 7 x64 drivers for an Xwave-192 soundcard that has a Yamaha YMF724 chipset. I need these drivers because I want to use the MIDI ports from it. I followed the moderator's steps with both WDM and non-WDM drivers offered by Yamaha for WinXP, but neither of them worked. Yamaha YMF724/740/744/754 Win7 drivers
