Conexant V90 Modem Driver

I have a conexant hcf internal v90 modem (i know its old), and no driver was present by default

PCIVEN_127A&DEV_1003&SUBSYS_B0BC0E11&REV_01

tried windows update but still failed, i had to install a third party driver (although it was for a different model, apparently in worked)

wont windows 7 support old hardware by default such as this in its retail version?

Drivers For Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem
I installed Win7 Ultimate x64 on my HP dv9620us (Turion dual core 64) yesterday.  Now I can finally take full advantage of the dual core x64 Turion architecture with Win7 x64, and all of its many fixes and improvements over Vista, and all the software out there.

BUT, I discovered HP -- the built-in-obsolescence kleptogarchs -- are NOT supporting Windows 7 on 100s of thousands of Pavillion Laptops -- such as my model, only two years old !  If it were over 4 or 5 years old, that would be close enough to industry norms -- but to not support the new standard Windows operating system on a two year old computer from the biggest manufacturer?

Some of the drivers available for Vista x64 will work (more or less) for Win7 x64.

But I haven't yet found working drivers/controllers for:

Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2 card
HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with Smart CP
Mirage driver
XM2552Y RMI408O SCSI CdRom Device

I've looked for answers on the HP forums, but no working solution yet.  I try to download various drivers, but Win7 device manager won't let me install them -- it tells me the device isn't found, or the current nonfunctioning driver is the most up-to-date, etc.

Issue With Conexant Audio Driver
I'm experiencing some issues with my Conexant audio driver and I'm hoping someone could help me out. I have a Toshiba P100-437 laptop and for some reason my audio stops working after a couple of reboots. So here is the scenario:

I install a fresh copy of Windows 7. It installs a "High Definition Audio Device", provided by Microsoft, version 6.1.7600.16385, date 2009/07/13. When I do a windows update, it installs a driver by Conexant: "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2". The sound works for a while, until after a couple of reboots when it just suddenly stops working: the equalizer in the volume control is still moving up and down but no sound is coming out of the speakers.

So I force the driver back to the Microsoft's "High Definition Audio Device", after which it works for a while again until after a couple of reboots and then its dead. Does anyone have any other drivers I may try or perhaps any other solutions?

Conexant Ac-link Audio Driver Problems
I installed W7 beta on an Acer Aspire 1650 laptop which has a Conexant ac-link audio onboard soundcard. With the default driver installed by windows, the sound was very bad and I found a workaround in this forum to replace the two sys files of the driver with more recent ones.

Anyway, I have a terribly big latency when recording sounds with mic or line-in. On win XP the latency is very less significant. Why does this happen? Is there a way to improve the audio latency?

USB ZTE Modem Driver
I have a problem, with a USB modem, the  USB ZTE modem, Type MODEM 3G multi-mode, GSM / GPRS / EDGE / WCDMA / HSDPA. This device is not identified by the system. As you plug it in, nothing happens because windows doesn't recognize it at all as a modem. The driver doesnt work.

I supose It will need a brand new driver in order to work. So Microsoft windows 7 developers, wake up and begin to work on a solution. This kind of modems are getting more and more used.

Huawei E169 USB 3g Modem Driver
I can't get my Huawei 169 modem to function in Windows 7, I've tried both build 6801 and 6956 -same result

As soon as I plug the modem in Windows 7 recognizes it as a usb disk, I can access the disk and launch the on board installer. I've downloaded the latest driver from the Huawei site, but the installer fails with the error "can't find any modem"

If I do a hardware scan in the device manager only the usb disk turns up, but not the modem.

I'm using this modem on this laptop in both WinXP and OSX without any problems, so the modem and PC is allright...

Is there any special windows 7 services that I need to start?

Installing Huawei Modem Driver Of PTCL V Wireless On Wi
Installing Huawei modem Driver of PTCL V Wireless on windows 7. In this article you will find how to install huawei modem (ETS2558) drivers of previous version windows (XP) on windows 7.

Other user (other modem brand) of PTCL V or windows XP service pack 3 and vista user may get help from there to install their drivers.

As we know that win 7 has great support for previous windows applications so software make no problem only driver create a problem.

To install the driver follow these steps.

1- Insert CD into CD/ DVD ROM.

2- Cancel auto run of huawei application.

3- Go to start Menu in search bar type "Troubleshooting" and open it from menu.

4- Now click on programs and follow the instruction (Run application in Win XP service pack 2 compatibility mode and follow procedure same as XP).

Select not listed….

Select Location of application….

Click on "Try recommended settings"

Now click on start the Program…

5-After installizations save compatibility settings. (Windows may warn u that it is not compatible just ignore it).

6-Now go to the Device manager here you will see TUSB3410 DEVICE IN Multiport serial adapters which will be marked with some sign Right click on it and then click on update driver. Now click on brows files from computer and select CD/ DVD ROM in which driver is found. It will scan the CD/ DVD ROM n find and install drivers automatically.

7-Refresh the list of device manager or re-open it. U will see that USB-Serial Port (COM 3) in Ports (COM & LPT) will be marked with sign. Now perform same procedure as in step 6 with it.

Now you are ready to use your application.

Now open application ptcl v and click on connect it may take 1 to 2 minutes by displaying a message initializing.

USB Modem Driver USBSER.SYS Does Not Install
The company I work for has a product with a USB Device port implementing the CDC class. Our driver is based on Microsoft's USBSER.SYS driver and we provide the specific INF files so that our product installs as a virtual COM port or as a Modem. It works well on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit versions but I fail to install the same driver for the Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise trial version. The error message is:

Windows was unable to install your unknown device.

Windows could not find driver software for your device.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software.

Does anyone have any insight on the possible reason for failure and how we can fix our driver?

Modem Driver Problem / Samsung Rant (M540) Phone
i just installed Windows 7 64bit. I use a Samsung Rant m540 Cell Phone for my Internet connection. I cant get high speed on my road so its alot better than dial up, anyway ive used it for a few years and now i cant seem to get it installed. It works fine on other comps and i had a driver for win xp 64bit that works. I got it installed on the windows 7 and it shows up as the modem and says its working properly but it wont respond when i try to query the modem or connect to the Internet.

Im pretty sure i just need a driver for the windows 7 for the phone as modem. But Sprint does not have a driver or program which supports it and neither does Samsung which created the phone. I googled for at least 5 hours with no success ive tried a few different drivers and no luck.

Driver For Internal WWAN Modem On Sony Vaio VGN-P19VN/Q
I suspect the answer to this question is 'wait for the launch date' but thought I'd try anyway.

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-P19VN/Q - the little one with the Intel Atom processor and built-in 'everywair' wireless adaptor.

Performance has always been a little 'iffy' with Vista, so when the RTC beta version of Windows 7 came out, I installed that as an up-grade and was really pleased with the performance improvement.

Since then, my employer, a University, has decided to jump straight from XP to 7 and we got hold of the 'Enterprise' version of 7 a little while ago. I installed this on my P-series with great glee, but, unfortunately, was unable to perform an upgrade from the 'ultimate' beta to the 'enterprise' copy, so had to do a clean install.

All went well and everything works fine except the 'everywair' modem, which comes up as an 'unknown device' on the system info and I've tried everything (in terms of driver detection software, downloading and installing the vista drivers etc) to get it back up and running.

I also have an 02 usb stick modem, which I;ve managed to get to work via a manual set up and a bit of tweaking, and the standard wireless card works fine, so I'm not destitute, just annoyed that one aspect of a very useful little machine doesn;t function anymore.

As I said, I suspect the answer is 'wait for Sony to release the driver, you impatient early-adopter' but thought I'd just check!

Sony, interestingly, haven't replied to my support query!

Conexant AC-97 Drivers
I have an hp zd8230us, and recently installed windows 7 ultimate x64 and I got all the drivers to work fine except audio. i have a conexant AC-97 card and after HOURS of searching and reading and trying many drivers, i am still out of luck.

in device manager it only shows up as ( multimedia audio controllers ) so the windows update doesn't work, I had it register as realtek ac-97 at one point but the update said it was up to date when it really didn't work. I even tried driver genius and still no luck. so is there anyone out there that has had better luck then I?

Sound Drivers For Conexant AC 97 Onboard
hardware id: PCIVEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_30AE103C&REV_02

which means it's onboard a cheapo xpress 200m board on an hp laptop.

Everything else works just fine, but the sound has been missing, I thought AC 97 audio was common.

To digress, I have tried auto online updates, backwards compatibility installs with previous vista and xp versions of the driver, and manually installing the driver from an extracted conexant ac97 driver file.  Nothing works.  Maybe it's because I have a rarer ac97 device?  I've tried realtek solutions as well but to no avail.

Any solutions?

Conexant High Def Drivers HP G60
The microphone does not work properly on my HP G60. HP has acknowledged this to be a problem in Windows 7. Has anyone else (here) experienced the same problem? It is well discussed on the HP site. Who should fix this; HP, Microsoft or Conexant?

The problem has persisted for months and HP shipped there machines knowing of the issue. Does that mean they have given up or that they are hoping for a bail out from Microsoft / Conexant?

Does anyone know of a substitute driver that would get the microphone working - passably. It currently records sound but at such a poor quality that it is not useable. I have followed all of the helpful suggestions, none made a difference.

Conexant AC-Link Drivers Won't Install
I have a HP Pavilion zv600 (model zv6123cl). The drivers section for my computer on HP.com only lists XP drivers, which fail to install. The Vista section (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=500261&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us&y=6&x=8) only has drivers for the quick launch buttons.

I've also downloaded the package suggested at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprohardware/thread/f4dfec8a-e2c9-44b0-ac8b-f8dcfe80ab4a, but these also fail, even when checked for running as admin in Vista compatibility mode.

Windows Update doesn't have any downloads. Device manager lists the device as "Muiltimedia Audio Controller", with the little exclamation point.

Does anyone have any other drivers for the Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio that might work with Windows 7?

Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers Issue
I have a dv2100 laptop on which i installed Windows 7 beta.

I am having an issue with the audio driver, sound comes out of the speakers, and when I plug in a headphone sound comes out both the speakers and the headphones. Also the microphones do not work, built in or plugged in. There is also an occasional popping sound when the system is trying to play a sound.

Hardware IDs:

HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30B2

Windows 7 installed this driver:
Provider: Microsoft
Date: 12/12/2008
Version: 6.1.7000.0

HP provides this vista driver which will not install:
Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver

Date: 06-2008
Version: 4.36.7.60 A

Sound worked fine under windows XP, not sure about vista as I did not have it on my system.

Any help with a different driver or a way to get the audio working properly would be welcome.
