View 1 Replies View RelatedI just formatted my PC and installed Windows 7. I then installed Realtek HD audio driver from Intel website, and installation finished successfully. But the problem is that there is no sound. I go to Device Manager and it says This device is working properly.
my PC specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
CPU Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300
Motherboard: Model: DG31PR
I'm having difficulty installing the above driver.
Once installed it seems to work fine, then on restart the system see's new hardware and install a default "High def audio driver" which doesnt work. I have manually forced the update of the driver and selected the realtek version - same probelm - works fine then on restart it re installs default one!
Realtek HD Audio drivers for ALC889 chipsets. Windows 7 & Vista 32 & 64 bit v2.35
If you have previous drivers installed, this will uninstall the old ones and then restart the computer. Run the driver install again and you're good to go after another re-start.
It's a pity but the new realtek HD sound driver (2.33) whilst has "preset" equalisations for a lot of options but there's NO custom setting where you can set your own equalisation. (You used to be able to set this in XP)
I'm not a big fan of "Canned" effects -- I prefer to set my own.
This was available in the XP driver --removing this in the latest Windows 7 version seems to be a BIG mistake. I suppose this is all in the modern nature of "dumbing down" everything.
I hope the "custom" feature will be re-instated in a later version.

You will need to have cookies enabled, check the accept box, and click Next before it will take you to the actual Realtek HD audio driver download page. If needed, see: How to Allow or Block Cookies in Internet Explorer in Vista You can download a ZIP version or the EXE version of the driver. You may need to install the Setup program twice. Install once and restart to uninstall the previous driver version, then a install and restart a second time to install the new driver version.
After the first install, verify the driver version in Device Manager after the restart to see if the current driver installed or not. If it is, then you will not need to install the driver a second time. When the driver installation is complete, you will need to set your audio settings again in the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the Control Panel (Classic View).
WARNING Some OEM computers will have a custom version of the Realtek HD Audio Manager with the OEM manufacturer's name included instead. For example it may be named "Acer [Realtek] HD Audio Manager" instead for the OEM Acer.
I just upgraded to Windows 7 but I got a serious problem: I can't hear sounds.I've downloaded many driver but it was useless, my sound card isn't installed.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi had reinstalled windows 7 64 bit
but this time after i installed realtek driver it does not work?
Before the same driver worked with no problems at all!?
i have done this procedure at least on 10 others PC, have no clue why it does not work for mine PC?
I am unable to find a suitable driver for my computer. I have a Compaq Presario R3000AP 3.2 GHz 2.5GB Ram and have upgraded to windows 7 with SP1. I did a clean install and all the windows 7 drivers were installed and are compatible except for the Realtek AC'97 audio driver. I downloaded and installed the Realtek AC'97 Codecs from the Realtek website, but unfortunately this was unsuccessful . Then I downloaded and installed the SP29586 Realtek AC'97 Driver version 6.0.1.6305 from the HP website and this was also unsuccessful. Finally I downloaded from the Microsoft website the same Audio Driver version 6.0.1.6305 and installed it but unfortunately again this was unsuccessful. In the Device manager under Sound, video and game controllers it show below "Realtek AC'97 Audio device", version 6.0.1.6305 but in properties is shows "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" Windows 7 does recognize the sound device, but is unable to completely install it, even though under the "driver file details tab" it show drivers installed in the windows directory. I understand that Microsoft does not support the Realtek driver, but there must be some kind of fix or even someone out there that is able to rewrite the driver somehow. Seems a shame to have to get a new computer because of this, as it is very fast with windows 7 even though it is only a Pentium 4.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I am downloading the latest Realtek drivers, I am having serious problems. Anyone else having this problem?

- Creative ALchemy
- Blu-ray audio layer Content Protection
- Optical S/PDIF out port(s) at back panel
I install the Realtek audio driver software and i get access to all my cool EAX advanced HD, THX truStudio etc.. things on that list BUT i get crackling noises every now and again when playing music/games whatever.
However i uninstall the audio driver software and i get no crackling sound when i listen to music or such, but i cannot access any of the features anymore.Whats going on here? its not the speakers or headphones i use, they have been tested on multiple devices, this only happens after the audio driver is installed and the audio features are activated.

this is all brand new, i just finished building it all a while ago, so there is like no crap running in the background like viruses or unneeded programs.my speakers are just small desktop 2W speakers, and i also use iPhone headphones, i have tried using the front jack on my pc & the rear jack (one that says "front" and is a light green colour) i get the noises nomatter if its headphones or speakers.
if i chage audio drive to nvidea from my graphics card and plug speakers into audio jack on my monitor which gets the HDMI audio from the GPU i get perfect sound.Uninstalling Realtek audio driver makes my pc use a microsoft audio driver it must have default, but it sounds fine.i just cant do ANY of the audio features available from the motherboard without it. and i worry its not HDMI/cinematic surround without this?
Every 5 minutes or so the audio manager says something has been disconnected and then instantly reconnected putting it in front of every other window and being annoying because it doesn't self minimize. is there a way to stop this the sound card is a realtek alc898 i tried turning off taskbar notifications but it still opens up. I've tried pulling the jack out out, cleaning it and cleaning it, but it still happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStarting about a month ago, after six to seven months of my laptop working fine, I've been getting video and audio stuttering whenever gaming or watching most HD videos and after messing around with my drivers I realized that whenever my Realtek HD Audio drivers are disabled my video runs flawlessly, but when enabled both video and audio stutter. I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop so I'm assuming that the sound card isn't easily replaceable. I've tried using the newest drivers straight from Realtek's website and also the outdated driver provided by Sony's website, both of which result in the same stuttering. Sony has also replaced the motherboard once and it did not resolve the issue.I'm currently running Windows 7 with 6gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 330M graphics card.
View 16 Replies View RelatedSo I was playing Cod 4, had plenty of problems getting it to work, one of the problems was that I had to have the Mic plugged in to open the game, seriously the biggest wtf I've had.
But now I got another fresh problem. The game kept on crashing, I checked out what the problem was, and sure as hell, it was the sound card driver.
So I used some guide, uninstalled the driver I had, and downloaded the newest Realtek driver, that's supposed to support Windows 7, although when I try to install the driver er get..
"Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software", no matter how often I press "Install this driver software anyway" it keeps on poping up!!
How can I bypass this problem, or solve it?
I have a trouble with my friend PC. I installed him Windows 7, but I can't put Realtek High Definition driver. Tried all kind of drivers from the official site, but no result. On the Device manager there are jus High Definision driver, but not Realtek. In Program files there is a Realtek installed program, but nothing works. There is no Realtek Sound Manager too.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with my sound, I'm getting a very loud buzzing sound and nothing else. My computer is only a year old (self built) and I have never had this problem before, I got home from grocery shopping and it was buzzing.
What I did to try and fix it:
- thought headset was broken, used speakers, still buzzing
- used windows troubleshooting, said my port wasn't being detected, fiddled with it a bit and tried front ports. front ports causing buzzing as well
- checked for driver update, nothing
- uninstalled driver (buzzing stopped)
- re-installed driver and buzzing started again
So, i do think the problem is the driver, but i have no clue what to do about it.
I have both Realtek HD Audio and THX and i am wondering what is the best way to use these two together. I would much rather use just one because i switch between my Logitech surround sound speakers and headphones (that i plug directly into the logitech speaker and not directly into my realtek audio device via the back of the computer) and so i am always having to switch settings around whenever i switch between just speakers or headphonesDoes anyone have some experience with this or knows the best ways to use both of these audio managers or just one? Its rather annoying. Ive thought about just removing THX so i only have to deal with one, but it does seem to make a difference but it could also just be ignorance. On a side note... i dont suppose there is anyway for realtek to recognize that i have inserted a headset into my speaker's headphone jack and adjust its settings.also after updated my realtek driver, i can no longer get the audio manager icon to appear in my notification bar.

I think I have found a solution to this.
I recently had problems my self.
First you have to install this, from Intel: Intel® Desktop Board D910GLDW Audio: Realtek* ALCxxx Driver
Second, install the latest drivers from Realtek, R2.22. I uploaded the zip file to filefront, as their ftp server is running by mouse power. Vista_R222.zip Download File
I hope it will work. for you. I had a lot of trouble finding the solution. Everything has to do with Intel's high definition codec that for some reason Realtek choose not to include in their driver packages.
I have a HP Pavilion zv6000
amd 64 3200 +
I used the Realtek AC'97 Audio driver when I had x64 vista business and the sound worked fine.
I used the same driver with Windows 7 and I get and error that says This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Has anyone had luck fixing this issue or had the same problem.
So to make this story some what short, I installed Windows 7, it kinda hung on installing the creative sound blaster driver so I assumed it was an audio driver issue from the beginning. After a reboot my sound would always make snap crackle pop / static noises and what not. Totally maddening when you watch tons of stuff online / play games / listen to music.
Strange thing whenever I booted into safemode w/ networking my driver for the sound blaster card would always install first thing no problem. Still, tons of static and the like in the background. The main issue, any reboot would give me a bsod to no end unless I booted in safemode, then there was no issue. Disabled different sound cards until I found out it was the Realtek card. Then I checked out the control panel and there was a driver for realtek, sure enough if I uninstalled and rebooted without going into safemode I NEVER got a bsod. Happy days.
Then I thought I had fixed the static issue but so far I have not. I'm using a creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs card. I've installed the latest beta driver for it(when I thought I had fixed it) to no avail. Sorry it ended up being extremely long :P Sadly, none of this happened in XP, but im blaming it all on the drivers.
Yesterday i installed my new Windows 7 64 bits OS on my PC after the 32 bits i used for years.I reinstalled drivers for my Realtek soundcard (Vista_Win7_Win8_R270.exe downloaded on the realtek website and even the 6305_Vista_PG537 to try it) and i have some difficulties using the equalizer whereas before I did not with the 32 bits.Indeed when i'm trying to set the 16k column on the Realtek HD Audio, after entering my choice, the settings of the 16k column change and only for the 16k column ! I tried to register several presets but everytime it goes wrong changing the 16k.
