Zune Software Crashes My Display Driver
I have an HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, with a Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, and a Mobile Intel Express Chipset (WDDM 1.1) Display Driver. I installed Windows 7 RC this week and it runs great except that
When I use my Zune Software my Video Display Driver crashes, causing a BSOD. Any Ideas?

NVidia Display Drivers (9800 GT) Constant BSOD Crashes
Since I've installed windows 7 64 bit I have been receiving constant BSOD crashes sometimes over 5 times a day. I researched around and found a program called blue screen view to log my crashes and kind of saw that the nvidia drivers were causing the blue screens most of the time however other drivers cause it too sometimes. When I uninstall my nvidia 9800 gt driver that windows update installs my computer runs fine with no crashes. However when I let it install the driver or install a new driver over that one it always crashes. If I uninstall the driver and then try and reinstall just the new driver I get an error every time saying that the NVidia setup doesnt recognize my hardware and the setup will exit. So I cannot even install the new drivers without windows update installing it first. I have been reading a lot of similar stories where people with NVidia cards are having BSOD crashes constantly. Microsoft and NVidia you really need to fix this because my computer is pretty much unusable for the past few weeks now. Any one have any fixes or ideas how to fix this problem?

Zune Drivers
No wonder so many dislike the MS Corp.; I installed Windows 7 RC, and the first device that isn't supported is my MS Zune player. It's absurd that a company as large and profitable as MS doesn't take care of its customers.

Bootup Problem With Zune Plugged In To USB
When I insert a USB device (confirmed problem with my Zune), the computer completely freezes. It doesn't produce a stop error, the computer literally just stops. It's usually after I've inserted and removed several devices since the computer has booted. And the computer hangs on the bootup until i unplug my Zune from the usb win 7 build 7100 64 bit.

Zune USB Pass Through Using Virtual XP Mode
Here's the issue. My wife has a Zune, and for whatever reason the Zune won't work properly with Windows 7. It seems to be a known issue with this older Zune, the latest Zune software, and Windows 7. Basically the software installs, but you can't sync the Zune device.Anyways, I discovered that I can install the Zune in XP Virtual Mode, and sync the device via USB pass through in the Virtual PC window. However when I close the Virtual PC window and open the Zune software in Windows 7 via virtual XP mode, the software opens and I can play songs in the list. However the device won't sync. I've determined that this is due to the fact USB pass through doesn't hold after closing the Virtual PC window. My question, is there any update or work around that would allow for continual pass through of USB devices even after the Virtual PC window has been closed?

Creative Sound Blaster X Fi - No Rear Speakers In WMP And Zune
I installed Windows 7 beta and unfortunately I have lost my rear speakers in 5.1. I have tried everything including older and new drivers but everything I do does not restore my rear speakers. I have a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi sound card. I am running Dell XPS 630i with Quad Core, 4GB RAM, dual SLI Nvidia 9800 GT each with 512MB. I also had problems with Call of Duty4 World at War which would freeze on a black screen and I would have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to close it. I eventually got it to work after trying various installs of SB X-Fi drivers but when I did get it to work after 2 min it crashed the whole OS with no access to CTRL-ALT-DEL so I had to manually power down and restart. I tried installing COD4 and SB X-Fi in Compatibility mode (Vista) and it didn't make any differences. Very frustrating as Audigy Sound Card drivers were my single and only problem with Vista. This has already seen me move back to Vista SP1 as I cannot experience proper 5.1 sound with my Zune application or WMP. I setup as dual boot which made it easier to move back to Vista but the point is I want to use Windows 7 beta for everything day to day.

Samsung Vista GDI Driver Install Crashes
I have a nice Samsung ML4500. Not that new, but then I don't use my printer very much. But it is useful at times. So... I have the Vista ML4500 GDI driver installation package for it. I run it by right clicking in compatibility mode.I've done this three times now. The first two times, it crashed my machine dead as soon as the Samsung splash screen appeared. Video broke up, screen blanked and then only a hard reset fixed it.Third time, despite same compatibility mode operation, the Samsung installer just tells me that the driver is incompatible with this version of windows. Unfortunately, since it's a prepacked installation in an exe file, I can't get at any of the real files, inf, sys etc to see if I can by pass the installer's front end.I've also tried the Vista GDI drivers for other similiar models, which give me similar results. If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this, other than approaching Samsung which I think is likely to prove unproductive, I'd love to hear from them! Edit: now, from another post, realised how I can unpack the driver set from the installer. I've done this, but the raw setup.exe still crashes win 7... I've now also tried the right click on the inf file in the Vista 64 subdir of the install package, but it tells me this method of installation is unsupported.

ERROR: Display Driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver
I am running Windows 7 32-bit 7100 build RC. I keep getting this error:"Display Driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version 181.72(which, Windows 7,will ONLY let me install and run with) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." This is what my OS(Windows 7 32-bit)has posted in the bottom-right hand corner of my desktop, when Windows 7 backs me out of my game during this crash. It then has me click on the games icon on my task bar, then returns me to the exact time and spot --which I left from, when it crashed. BUT, there is a LARGE red "X" posted/displayed on my screen, prior to returning to the actual game. Then; I continue playing, until this occurs again. Which it keeps doing;but, sporatically. NOT in any given area, or time frame. If someone has an idea/solution as to the actual workable repair/FIX to this error/problem, I would much appreciate it. P.S.: I am using the most "current" drivers for this operating system. And, I am NOT running with SLI mode "on".

Display Driver Failure = Windows Kernel Mode Driver 186.27
I have a brand new computer all of about 2 month's old, I purchased it with Vista and did a Windows 7 upgrade, which came along with the purchase through the computer company. The OP upgrade went seemingly okay, with the exception of the NVIDIA display driver Geforce 220. After lengthy but unproductive attempts at trying to mend the driver issue through the company tech support, I was last told that I would have to un-install Win 7 and go back to the original system recovery (Vista) in order for them to even recognize what the problem is. The error message I receive in the dialog box when driver fails show "Windows kernel mode driver 186.27 failed". The un-install, following tech support, re-install (assuming they can actually find the problem and fix it) will take about 6-8 hours. Including having to re-install my programs such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc. SURELY there must be a better way to indentify and correct this problem, if the computer is presently recognizing the "186.27" kernel issue, can it not be found diagnosed and fixed within' my present OP?

IDT High Definition Audio Driver Crashes Win 7
I installed Win 7 and kept the default audio driver for several months with no problems. Yesterday I checked Windows update for optional updates and saw one for IDT High definition audio. After installing and rebooting, my system became useless with 100% processor usage and no audio at all. It took about 15 minutes for the computer to catch up with me so I could roll back the driver. This is the update info: IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Installation date: ‎3/‎19/‎2009 7:16 AM Installation status: Successful Update type: Optional IDT Audio software update released in September, 2008 More information: http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20215950 Help and Support: http://support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hub I rolled back to the default windows driver which is "High definition audio device" version 6.1.7000.0 and dated 12/12/08. This fixed the problem. Did anybody else have a problem like this or was it just me?

Display Driver Nvidia Kernel
I recently installed windows 7 ultimate and i have some serious issues with it. at first when i installed it, and it booted for the first time into windows i got the BSOD everytime, only way i got passed it was to boot up with driver certification disabled. i was finally able to boot into windows 7. First thing i noticed was that everything responded very slow, if i clicked the start button it took up to 5 seconds for it to respond. still everything acts very slow. so after a while i got the error "display driver nvidia windows kernel mode driver 195.39 stopped responding and has recovered succesfully" so my screen starts to flicker black, and i get the BSOD once in a while. I can't run the performance test because my system freezes up. i tried upgrading/downgrading nvidia drivers, installed direct x disable aero and so on, ive done alot of research on the web but i can't find any solutions to it.

Display Driver Has Stopped Responding
Sometimes, after having been on for a long time, my screen will go black for a few seconds. It comes back a bit awkwardly, with different parts of the screen appearing separately. Once everything is back, I get a little popup saying that the display driver stopped responding, and has recovered. It's only a minor annoyance, but I'd like to know if there's any way to fix this? In my device manager, it says that I'm missing a video controller, which could be the cause of this.

EXPLORER.EXE Crashes, MMC.EXE Crashes, Moviemaker.exe Error
I want to love Win7 so badly, but this is just crazy. I'm about to go back to good old XP, simply for the stability. I'm about fed up with Windows 7 after only using it for two weeks. Off of a brand new and formatted clean install, with only Norton NIS 2010, Itunes, Adobe Reader, and Firefox 3.5.7 installed, I get constant explorer.exe crashes. Shortly followed by an mmc.exe crash, then it just gets caught up in a never-ending explorer.exe crash that only a reboot resolves, for a short time. All drivers are up to date, and all Win 7 updates have been applied. I've even formatted and re-installed Win7 only to have explorer begin crashing a day later. This is all on a stock Dell Inspiron 545 quad core, 8GB RAM, etc. I'm very tech savvy and am about jump off of the Win 7 bandwagon. Maybe the Apple Mac commercials are correct, another fumbled attempt at a stable OS from Microsoft? After extensive reading, it appears that many others are suffering through this ____ also. Some get it while attempting to right click any icon, some when launching apps, some, like me , for no apparent reason at all. I don't ever get the BSOD, but the computer is essentially non-functional due to explorer restarting all the time. I've done a ton of reading and have tried sfc /scannow, which found no errors. I've tried shellexview, to no avail for the context handlers. I've uninstalled and re-installed all non-MS apps. I've tried everything that I've read, and it eventually starts crashing again. It is very random, and I can find no patterns that cause the explorer crashing. It works for two days, then goes haywire. Sometimes it only works for an hour before the explorer crashes begin. And yes, this is a fully licensed and legal copy of Win 7 Pro that I purchased through CDW. A side note, this computer ran WIN XP perfectly. All hardware has been tested and is perfect. If anyone has found a fix for this issue, then please chime in! Below are the errors that populate the Event Viewer: Activation context generation failed for "c:program files (x86)windows livephoto galleryMovieMaker.Exe".Error in manifest or policy file "c:program files (x86)windows livephoto galleryWLMFDS.DLL" on line 8. Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component requested.

Display Driver Nvlddmkm Stopped Responding
During the first 4 days of my new Windows 7 install I was getting constant "Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has recovered" events (Event ID 4101 - Level 3 - Task 0 - 0x8000000000000). The best I can recall these events occurred when changing display settings. These events are occuring much less often now. The only instance in the past day or 2 was trying to start Autocad Lt 2010 (separate, bigger issue). When I installed Windows 7 it loaded the 186.18 driver. That driver folder still exits in C:NVIDIADisplay Driver. I installed the latest nVidia driver - 195.62 - right after the motherboard drivers (second thing). The driver version in device manager is 8.17.11.9562. The option to roll back the driver is grayed out. There are no hardware conflicts. Memtest and Prime95 tests are clean. I have 6GB of 1333 memory "overclocked" to 1333 in bios. This is because the i7-920 is a "fixed" processor and only defaults to 1066 memory. Originally (day 1-2) the event occured when trying to switch to an aero theme. Today (day 5) I am using a modified aero theme and have no problems. Is it possible that Windows 7 applied a bug fix transparently? I have researched and there are many possible solutions offered. The most common is to to re-expand the nvlddmkm.sys file in System32. What do you folks here think/suggest I do?
