View 5 RepliesI have a wireless Xbox 360 controller for Windows that I have been using for a while now. I used it with Vista and then with Windows 7.Everything worked perfectly until few days ago...when I tried to turn the controller on (pressing the middle button), the green lights just started flashing and blinking. The wireless receive had not lights on. I tried unplugging the receiver and plugging it back in.It's so weird since I just played LIMBO few days ago with the controller and now it's not working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed all proper drivers required to use the controller, but Joy.cpl isn't picking up the device, and I have it hooked up through the USB charger, do I have to do it wirelessly still even though I get pinged that the USB is being used when I plug in the remote through the USB charger? does it only charge when plugged into the computer this way? these are answers I am looking for but I haven't seen anything but a rather rude post by another individual seeking information who was commented on by this rude person, yes I understand not everyone is computer or tech savvy, but learing should be a shared experience.

Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class
---Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349 [8/13/2009]
This is the controller I used for my Xbox before I sold it. It still works, but my Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit doesn't seem to want to be compatible with it.
Driver 2.1.0.1349
I downloaded the latest drivers and installed them, and I plug it in and it says installing device and it installs. It starts charging, but the Center button just keeps blinking, and it is showing up under device manager.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to buy an xbox wired controller to play games on pc with the controller. My question is that the controller works as the same like on xbox? Actually, I mean the analog sticks. It has the same sensitivity on pc like on xbox? Because in the keyboard you can push the button or not. With the analog sticks you have more possibility, sensitivity.

This only happens during gameplay, pressing the RT any time where it won't register doesn't do anything.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've used a wireless 360 controller with receiver now flawlessly for ~1 year. Bought a Wired one today, except whenever I plug it in, I get an immediate BSOD! I've taken the usual precautions of uninstalling MotionInJoy (both from control panel AND by deleting the appropriate driver from c:windowssystem32drivers), but it still blows up every time I've gone to the Microsoft site and downloaded the drivers there too. Basically, I install the Accessories part, and that's fine. Then when I plug the controller in, it takes about 3 seconds and then BAM. BSOD. Upon restarting, if I plug it in, it doesn't BSOD, but it sure doesn't work either. Oddly enough, the MotionInJoy driver reappears in the system32/drivers folder occasionally after a BSOD.

I'm new to PC so I'm sure I'm making a simple mistake. I've downloaded the Xbox 32Bit controller software from microsoft and still nothing. View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having an issue with the xbox 360 wired controller since I built my new pc. When I plug it in via usb the device is not recognized by windows and no matter what I try it simply will not work.
Things I have tried: downloaded chipset drivers downloaded Software Downloads: Xbox 360 Controller for Windows tried the whole leaving the computer and all usb devices unplugged and off for a good few hours. ininstalled all the usb controllers and rebooted tried it in all usb ports, 3.0 and 2.0 searching for hours on google tried enabling/disabling usb legacy support in the bios tried running microsoft fixit thing (whatever that is) tried updating the drivers manually through the device manager but windows insists that the device is up to date. tried uninstalling and removing ethernet cable to try and force me to choose drivers. windows is fully updated I even bought a new controller thinking the last one was broken. The controller powers up when you plug it in, you can clearly see the green lights around the guide button flash but then nothing happens.
Put this in here because instead of the gaming forum since it seems to be a system-wide issue since it happens with multiple applications as opposed to just one game.Okay, so this has been a problem I've had with multiple computers for a while so I was wondering if it's a bug with my setups or if it's just how the Xbox 360 controller generally behaves in Windows. For example, in Skyrim, with the 360 controller attached, controls feel slightly delayed and the action isn't smooth at all, at least not compared to playing Skyrim on an actual 360 with the 360 controller. It's mostly evident with the right control stick (don't worry, the actual controller is fine - works perfectly on Xbox 360).To better explain - if I try moving the right analogue stick in a circular motion to look around - the result is that it really jerkily, like in a square, moves right, then down, then left, then up as opposed to actually doing a circular motion, and generally switching from looking from say up to, say, looking right, is a mess.

For some reason keep getting blue screens most of the time it is while I am playing games doesn't matter what game it just does it randomly sometimes I can play for 1 hour or 4 hours or sometimes not even 30 mins. I've updated my video card to the latest version. I've also updated my Direct X. Files are in the attachments. I have a lot of PC games and Also I use a Xbox 360 controller for most games.
I got a very funny issue with my xbox 360 controller here... I bought it 3 years ago while im still in college, often used it on my laptop (win xp) and it runs well, no problem.
Last year i bought a new PC with Windows Vista, and still no problem, i played many games with that. The problem exist since i format my PC to Windows 7 ultimate 32
Here's the funny stuff, after few experiment, i found out that "The longer I dont use the controller, the longer i can use it afterward" I guess u will confuse about what im talking... but its true
For example.... I turn on my PC, and i did not plug in the controller for hours, maybe surfing webs or do some stuffs, then when i decided to plug it on to play some games, it actually works but it has a limited time. After some time, it stop working and the green light disappear. Like I turn on the pc without plugging in the controller for 30min, then when i plugged in i can use about 30min (i didnt record it, just for u to understand easily)
When i try to unplug it and plug it on again, the green light on the controller flash once, and my pc said USB Device not recognized, what the heck is this?
I've even tried to restart the PC, windows 7 loaded, i plug in the controller, about few minutes it not working again
I've been searching for solutions for few hours, updating the driver from the microsoft website, XBCD and few emulator, tried it but nothing helps
So I just got this Xbox 360 controller for gaming and downloaded the hardware at the Microsoft Hardware web site, but when I go to activate it in the "game controllers" option in the control panel, the icon doesn't show. So I went on the internet trying to find some way to get around this whole thing. I found a post on this web site that was very useful and it took me to device manager where I followed the step by step instructions to install the driver, but when I tried to install the driver on my PC it would say: "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it." Then it says: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, so I've researched this problem extensively, and have not come up with much. A lot of the articles online are from years ago and the few solutions that are posted don't work. So I'm resorting to posting on here in hopes someone has a more recent fix to for this.
I have an official Microsoft wired xbox 360 controller. I've tried using it on FIFA 12, Arkham City, and Saints Row 3. Every time I get to the game and use the controller it freezes the game and will not unfreeze until I unplug the controller. The thing is, windows recognizes the controller in the device manager and I can use it to browse the games' menus before starting the game. I have the "official" microsoftdrivers downloaded from here:
[URL]
I've tried uniinstalling all drivers related to the controller, all the HID compliant devices, restarting the system, disabling driver signing enforcement, reinstalling Microsoft's drivers. But every time I plug the controller in, it installs these motionjoy drivers automatically, and still freezes the game. Also I noticed my mouse becomes jerky when I move it while the controller is plugged in. This problem is ridiculous to me, because I know that the xbox 360 wireless controller works perfectly fine with games, since my roomie has a wireless USB hub for a wireless xbox controller and I've tested it with the same games. It blows my mind that a Microsoft product is not compatible with another Microsoft product, but I will reserve that rant for another time. And by the way my comp is good enough to play these games as I can play them just fine using mouse and keyboard.
My system is running windows 7 ultimate 64. I downloaded the latest xbox 360 controller driver from microsoft. When I plug my controller in, the 1 and 4 lights, both blink real fast and nothing else happens. It is not recognized under devices or in the computers device manager.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a program that uses a 360 controller. When the window is in focus it send the information fine. However when I have other windows focused it does not (this was expected). how I might redirect the input to the non focused window?
Now I know I looked before I went and bought a new Xbox 360 wireless controller for my PC games and swear everyone said it would work. But after just getting the wireless receiver and plugging it in, I get a light on but nothing works. I went to Microsofts site for drivrs and downloaded everything for the wireless Xbox 360 controller to drive my usb receiver. But nothing. It does not even reconize it. I tried putting the install drivers on desktop and the update drivers that way and, nope, nada. Just says you have the latest drivers. But it still does not know it is Xbox 360 receiver. I know someone has gotten this darn thing to work and I am just not in the game, literally. I even tried XP Mode and it will not let me play installed games on Widows 7 drive.
