Wireless Connection On HP Pavilion Dv9000
since I have installed WINDOWS 7 I got some issues with my wireless connection. Each time I send my Laptop in the sleep mode I loose the connection. I only have degraded acces to my access point. But when I set the ipconfig command I get no IP from my router.
I got some information about the bluethooth connection not available.
I there a relation between the bluetooth and the wireless settings in W7 ?

HP Pavilion Dv9000 Laptop Driver For Base System Device
I just installed Windows 7 Beta on my HP Pavilion Dv9000 laptop and everything is working really well, but in device manager I have 2 items listed under Other Devices that say Base Sytem Device. I am assuming I need some kind of driver for them, but I am not sure how to tell what they are or what driver they will need. How do I figure this out? If I get the properties of these devices under the general tab I see Device type: Other device, Manufacturer: Unknown, and Location: PCI bus 9, device 9, function 3.

Driver For Ralink Wireless LAN Card On HP Pavilion M9350F
For some reason, Windows 7 does not find any adapters on my computer. I have heard that Netgear does not support Windows 7 yet, (Aren't vista drivers supposed to work on Windows 7 anyway? I have a WPN111 adapter) so I'm using a built in pci-e Ralink for my adapter that came with my comp. I downloaded the most recent driver for it off of HP's site, but when I install it on Windows 7, it comes out saying that my system does not meet the miniumum requirements.

The Wireless Connection Problem
It seems that several people (myself included) are having the Win 7 disabling a wireless router issue. I've searched through this forum and see several threads. If anyone has the solution (other than disabling HomeGroups, I kind of like this feature!) can it just be made a sticky so we don't have to search for it?

Wireless Connection Error
Well, i also have the Windows 7. I can connect with Ethernet without any problems. When i atepmt to connect using the wireless Belkin desktop card. i get this problem found by the Windows Network Diagnostics...(Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration) marked as 'not fixed' So i contacted my ISP and once i told them i was running Windows 7, they no longer wanted to help me. (Frontier) I have 3 PCs, 2 with Windows 7 and one with Vista. 1**My gaming PC(Windows 7) is connected via Ethernet and connection is fine. 2**My HP laptop (Win Vista) is connected via wireless, and is working fine. 3**My newest PC(Windows 7) was connected with Ethernet, but we cant deal with the wire hanging off the loft, so i got the Belikin wireless card. It installed fine, and sees my home wireless network, the password is correct, as well as the encryption, and security type. But when trying to connect, i get a "Connecting to the network is tanking longer than usual" followed by a "the connection was unsuccessful" I run the troubleshooter, and first it tells me to reset my router, which i have dine, and it doesnt help, so i go on to diagnose additional problems, and that is when i get the most important problem.....(Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration) marked as 'not fixed I read a post by Esparko in this forum, with a very similar problem that was solved by SquonkSC..... Can anyone tell me what is wrong, and how i can fix this plz?

Temperamental Wireless Connection
Just bought a new PC, it came blank, and i have installed windows 7 64x Professional onto it, but am having some problems with the wirless connection. I have a realtek 8185 802.11b/g wireless card. Other system specs listed in my system specs. The issues are as follows: Most annoying: - random slow downs in the connection. just during normal use, i won't be able to load webpages, do any downloads, or loading pages will be extremely slow (1-2 minutes per page, usually with errorrs). will often spontanesouly resolve 5-10mins later, only to occurr again another 5-10 minutes later. No errors reported in the system tray or on using the windows 7 toubleshooter. - about 1/5 times i boot up, it cannot connect to the network, with error message in the system tray. trying to 'troubleshoot problems' cannot fix it. if i restart, usually connects straight away - every couple of days, some sort of error occurs, where the system tray pops up with an error message. troubleshooter is then able to resolve the error. I have updated the driver through windows update. Driver date 10/09/2009. We have 3 other machines (all running xp - 2 old lapotps and one netbook) none of which experieince any issues. During periods of slow/nonexistant connection on the windows 7 machine, the xp machines haver perfect connection. I have tried restarting the router many times, and it doesnt seem to do anything. ALso, dont know if this is related, but my ethernet ports (which i do not use) - Realtek RTL8186/8111 - are reporting errors in the device manager. when i try to update the drivers, thers is an erorr that the update did not fix the issues. My thoughts would be that perhaps there is a loose connection inside the machine itself, but i think that network adapter connects straight into the motherboard? Also, i have two different types of RAM installed (2x 1GB, and 2x 2GG sticks), which people have mentioned may cause some issues (I have problems not being able to come out of 'sleep', and i think the RAM causes this - but this issue doesnt bother me).

Cannot Connect Automatically To Wireless Connection
I have a really annoying issue with my wireless network whereby on start-up or resume my lappy won't automatically connect to my wireless connection despite the fact that "automatically connect" is checked in properties and the wireless adapter is enabled. There are currently 4 available wireless networks, 1 which is mine and 3 which must belong to neighbours. If I right-click on any of those other 3 the only option available is connect and it seems they can't be configured, the problem with this being that if I left-click them the "connect automatically" box is always checked. If I uncheck the box, the next time I left-click that connection the "connect automatically" box is checked again. I am wondering if this is causing a conflict whereby Windows 7 doesn't actually connect automatically to any of them as they are all checked...? The only way to connect is if I manually click "connect"...? So, is my problem that Windows 7 is getting confused and if so is there a way to stop those other networks defaulting to auto connect...? I have tried to find config options for the unwanted connections to delete them or remove auto connect but they either don't exist or are well hidden. Or could it be that there is another solution to this problem...? Incidentally, my Windows 7 PC which has a wireless connection seems to connect automatically every time I boot it. Why does my lappy need a manual kick-start...?

Wireless Network Connection Problem
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I went out earlier and bought a Linksys Wireless N (WRT120N) router. Hooked it all up, no problem - installed routers a billion times before. Once the wireless network was setup, I plugged my laptop in using a cable and the Internet worked fine (still does). Next, I used my friend's laptop (which has Vista on it) and connected to the wireless network just fine. Now, unplugged my own laptop (the one using Windows 7) and tried to connect to the wireless network I had just set up, and it is unable to connect. I'm still a Windows 7 noob, but I've pretty much tried everything I know to get it to connect. The network shows up when I search for wireless networks, but when I attempt to connect to it I get "Windows was unable to connect to (network name)". If I try the troubleshoot option, it only tells me to "investigate router or access point issues" and trying to resolve the problem gets me "Windows cannot resolve your wireless connectivity issue". Any advice would be fantastic, as I'd like to get some use out of this thing. PS - Some more info: I have a Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. I've tried deleting and re-adding the connection. I've tried unchecking IPv6.

Atheros Wireless Card Connection
Running Toshiba laptop with dual boot Vista 32/Windows 7. Atheros AR5007EG card. When I first installed, the card connected well, no problems with Win 7 installed driver. After a few hours of use, the card stopped connecting to router. It would see that there were connections available, but when I clicked Connect, it would just say can't do that. I went through a lot of rigamaroll installing Atheros drivers a couple of times and am now using Atheros Driver Version 7.6.0.164 (dated 28/07/2008) BUT, that didn't solve the problem. Off to the router... I had read that changing channels might solve it but when I tried to access my Linksys WRT54G through the browser (http://192.168.1.1), I got no response. I reset the router, and just reset my security, and VOILA!, the internet connection worked. Â Â Â Â Â Note that the Atheros card would connect in Vista 32 all through this time, and router continued to supply wired service without any troubles. So I am not sure what is going on since i don't know a lot about configuring routers or how they work. Maybe there is some kind of interaction between the card and router that causes the disconnect. If it happens again, I'll update this. UPDATEToday when I turned my laptop on, it wouldn't connect to the router although it found all the connections available, so I rebooted the router (unplug for 30 seconds) and it connected just fine. weird.

Win 7 Wireless Connection Problems
I have a home-built computer that I recently upgraded to Windows 7. Â Everything is fine, and all programs work with it, the only problem is I cannot get wireless internet through a USB adapter consistently. Â I have tried two network adapter that are both certified for windows vista and 7, and I have downloaded drivers multiple times for each. Â I get wireless internet for 15-20 minutes after I turn on my computer, but after that a yellow exclamation mark pops up on the internet icon. It says I have no internet, but it shows full service bars and the name of the connection, along with all the other connections I can pick up. Â I have done everything I can think of, and I can't figure it out. Â I've made sure it doesn't turn off to save power, I've installed it successfully on a different computer and it doesn't drop the connection, my router works with any other computer in my house, and I know I have the latest drivers. Â The only way I can get internet after the yellow exclamation point is to reboot my computer.

No Network Connection On Belkin Wireless Adapter
For this problem I have also contacted Belkin to see if there is an .obscure driver problem, but I am also hoping there is a hotfix lurking somewhere for this case I have a Belkin F5D8053c wireless adapter that I am trying to use with the Windows 7 RC. Problem is when I try to install drivers, it comes to the point where the installation process asks me to put the adpater into the USB slot, and the proceeds with the installation process. The installation is faster than it should be, and tells me that it has been completed. However when I click finish on the driver installation program, a speech bubble along the taskbar tells me the drivers haven't been installed properly. Surely I have tried to connect to any networks, but my adapter doesn't detect any (Though when the computer had Vista, it worked fine, and also works fine on my XP laptop). The driver CD has drivers for: If I install to C:Program Files(x86)Belkin I get one folder labelled WinXP, But if I install to C:Program FilesBelkin I get four folders; WinXP, WinXPx64, Vistax86 and Vista x64. The drivers I used where v3 but I had tried v5 too. Any ideas?

Then, wake it up, and work with it for another 3 to 4 hours. It would reappear able. This problem never happened to me when I was running Vista. So, I am not sure if it is driver problem or Windows 7 problem? Would someone please guide me to a right direction? I went to Dell's web site to search for latest driver. I can't seem to find it. Currently, the only way I can solve this is to restart/reboot my system.Would some one please share their thoughts of possible solution?

XP Sharing Win 7 Wireless Connection To Network
Here's what I want to do, I have a working network of 4 computers all running Windows XP Home edition, some wireless, some wired, all connecting to a single wireless router. Now I have added a Windows 7 laptop and connected it to this network, wirelessly. This works fine, however it states that there is no Internet connection, yet it works fine (similar bug in XP computers at SP2.) Now I want to complicate things, I want to effectively connect a XP Home edition computer through a LAN and use it as a wireless adapter, to access the network and gain Internet access, I believe this should be relatively straight forward as I had no trouble file sharing between the two computers, I am just having trouble then connecting to the WIRELESS network. help?

Can't See Local Network Through Wireless Connection
I have a home wireless network with 3 Dell laptops and 1 Dell desktop all running Windows 7. When the laptops are hard-wired through ethernet everything works fine. However, when the laptops on wireless only, the 'network' entry in Windows Explorer no longer shows other machines on the network. I'm also not able to UNC (hostname) to the other machines. PING also no longer works. Internet access, however, is unaffected. What's going on? I've tried: - adding suffixes to my adapters - turning off the Windows Firewall - disabling McAfee Viruscan Enterpries (v8.7) - checking the ethernet/wireless adaptars have the same 'properties' including TCP V4/6 setup - checking that all machines are on the same workgroup (called HOME-LAN) - checking that all machines use 'Home' networking (from the 'Network and Sharing Center') - checking the 'advanced sharing settings' from the 'Network and sharing Center' are OK ('Home' profile set to 'Turn off password protected sharing' and 'Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers') - checked a number of thread on this site and others.

No Wireless Connection After Changing USB Port Of Adapter
I am using the Belkin FD7050 v3 USB adapter. I was having all kinds of problems getting 7 to recognize it and find a network. I got it work by installing Vista x64, running all windows updates and installing the adapter, then doing an in-place upgrade. Everything was working great, no wireless problems at all. Then I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in to a different USB port. Win 7 recognized the adapter right away and installed drivers, but it can't see any networks. Very similar to the first time I installed 7 before upgrading from Vista. I have since tried uninstalling/re-installing. Letting Win 7 find drivers, manually installing the FD7050 v3 drivers from Belkin. Tried installing the Belkin drivers in XP compatibility mode and Vista Compatibility mode. Nothing works. I'm trying to not have to completely reinstall Vista x64 and then upgrade to 7 x64 again. Any ideas?

Severe Network Issues / Wireless Connection Drops
I have encountered massive problems with network under Windows 7 RC, both 32 and 64bit. The issue did not occur with Windows 7 beta. (Note: Windows update in the RC performed successfully) - wireless connection drops - the connection changes from "homegroup" to "unidentified" - Internet is accessible, but networking reports "no internet access" and yellow warning icon over wireless signal icon in systray Things already tried - disable/enable adapter (connections lasts for a couple of minutes, then drops again) - updated latest driver from intel (Intel PRO/Wireless 5300 AGN) - even tried drivers for XP - tried troubleshooting in 7, received almost all possible error messages, problem were solved, however connection drops again after a couple of minutes - unticked QoS - unticked IPv6 -... Annotation: Hardware is HP Elitebook 8530p, connection with LAN works. Another notebook with Windows 7 is connected in the same network, connection runs smoothly without any problems (-> so no error in the router). Similar issues are posted in several other forums, e.g. sevenforums.com. There you can find a lot of proposals to solve the issue, however none of them worked. The issue occurs both for wired and wireless network in those forums (for me only in case of using wireless).

Wireless Connection Not Refreshing IP Address When Switching Networks
I'm at a bit of a loss and hoping someone can help me out. I'm fairly tech savvy, but haven't been able to figure this out. When taking my HP EliteBook 8730w between the office and my house, the wireless connection breaks. It will detect and connect to the network, but doesn't seem to be refreshing the IP Address/Gateway from the router. Right clicking the wireless icon in the system tray and choosing "troubleshoot" fixes the problem, as does ipconfig /release and /renew. I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Our work network is domain based and my home network is not.
