When I tracing the line initgraph (&gd,&gm,"") the c program for computer graphics, I didn't get the output screen. I got the msg as "windows 7 does not support full screen mode". I want to know y it's not working.
i want to run a bulky qbasic program that i got from the internet but it could not because of the screen setting. with the code in order to enable me run the program.
Lots of little programs out there that will keep a selected windown on top of all other open windows but they only work in windowed mode. Not a single one I've tried works over a full screen app.I'm running Flight Simulator X on two monitors. To play multiplayer, I need a small utility that I need to see almost all the time. I could run in windowed mode, but that causes other visual problems and makes my second monitor almost useless.
was wondering if any one could help im running winows7 ultimate x64 on a 42 inch hdmi to dvi tv and cannot get full screen mode on my desktop unless i have just finished playing a game in the 1920 x1080 resolution then when i finish the game its in full screen mode.and after i restart my comp it goes back to having the black rim around the screen.
I have the hard copy of Lord of Destruction but I decided it best to download it from blizzard.net (or battle.net, i'm not sure, it's irrelevant) because I thought it might run more smoothly on Windows 7 Home Premium 64. For whatever reason though, it won't run in full screen mode. The game has an inch or so of black bars on the left and right side of it. They appear from the intro (the Blizzard logo), to the main menu and into game play?
I am supposed to run an old DOS program on my Windows 7 OS. But when I try to run i get the message c:winndowssystem32cmd.exe This system does not support fullscreen mode. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
I tried to change the compatibility mode of the application, which starts by a PIF file by the way, tried to run it in windows mode. But It simply wont work. I dont want to run it in XP virtual mode.
I cant play the game in full screen it shows only in windowed mode. I cant put mouse cursor as well in window. I tried changing the resolution of the game but it doesn't change if I set it to low resolution, I cant see anything but can hear the sound.
I have really bad lag when running any application that requires full screen mode. I've got the latest AMD drivers that supports my GFX card (Asus Radeon 4850). I used to have a Nvidia card and I would just change one of the settings to get rid of the lag. I changed the Graphics card and reformatted the computer so it shouldn't be a driver issue. I have Service Pack 1 and all the updates for Windows installed. The lag is unbearable for games, so I can't play any games that require full screen, no issues when it's run in windowed mode. I've used FPS monitors while running games (Fraps and MSI afterburner) and the frame rates readings are normal (above 60 always) but it always looks like 20-ish no matter which game I play.
For videos there's always some kind of problem. Used various media players, and different browsers for flash videos but sometime the video skips to the end very quickly, or won't continue playing and halts immediately somewhere along the way. Used MSI Kombustor to stress out the GPU, and it maxes at 70 at 100% load. Directx 10 stress test seems to be blurry, every other test seems fine to run but would have the lag from being in full screen.
I have a hdtv and a monitor on my wmc7 computer. When i use wmc in full screen mode the mouse will not move over to the monitor. How can i use wmc in full screen mode and use the monitor for facebook?
The past couple of days i've been experiencing unusual behaviour from my computer. For the past few days I've been having crashing problems. The crashes aren't all the same however; on a handful of occasions it's given the famous old 'blue screen of death' and on others my computer either just turns off, or the whole computer just crashes. I've noticed the crashes only occur when I turn the computer to 'full peformance' mode after a couple of minutes meaning I'm literally unable to leave power save mode for more than 3 minutes.
I use 'EPU-4 Engine' to switch my computer between 'power save' mode and 'full peformance' mode only using full peformance if I want to play games or install something.
I didn't think much of this at start, as i've never had these problems before 2 days ago. I figured it may have been a faulty driver, so I downloaded specific ones for hardware, but that didn't solve the problem. I then tried a system restore to restore back to a previous date presuming it may have been an update that went wrong, but nothing changed, I still got the crashes.
I run Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition, AMD Phenom II x4 964, ATI 5850 Graphics card, 4 GB's of Ram
If I have multiple Firefox browsers open that are not in full screen mode, once clicked on, that screen disappears before I can reach it with my pointer. This happen with all pinned icons that are not in full screen mode or a small notification box.Someone mentioned that Lenovo maybe had an update that messed with the settings.
I am having a strange issue that appears to be related to my video driver, settings, etc.
I play several different video games on my PC and each one of them has the option to play in Windowed mode or Full Screen mode. Until recently switching a game to full screen mode made it fill up the entire window. In the last day or so, something has changed where now the game doesn't re-size itself when in full-screen mode. Instead, it stays the same size and a black border is drawn around all four sides. To make things ever weirder... it doesn't do this on all my games, but it does it on most.
Here are some screenshots to demonstrate the issue more clearly.
Regular Windowed Mode Full Screen Mode
I have tried everything I can to fix it but I am stumped. I have changed various settings for each game but nothing has worked. I have also looked around at the settings in Windows 7 but I couldn't find anything that fixed it.
I have been getting BSOD errors whenever booting into regular mode. Safe mode is fine (I have tweaked the registry so I have sound in safe mode) My system specs are in my profile, but used Winaudit for full specs. The winaudit report in formatted text is too big for an attachment. I have 2 attachments to this post, including zipped up minidumps. Could my registry tweak for sound have something to do with this? Perfmon /report was run, but it says:
An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The system cannot find the path specified.
I'm wanting to upgrade my wifes computer from 32 bit Vista to windows 7. I cant seem to find information to tell me if it will support a 64 bit windows 7, but i suspect that it may. Here is a link to this pc [url]...81434.html.I have a 64 bit windows 7 on hand that would be convenient. Which can i use?
I m running Windows 7 ultimate x64 on 6 pcs. All connected with cat6 cable to Gigabit Ethernet 8 port switch. Most of the PC have Realtek 8111F, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller on board (1 or 2 have intel pro giga)
Now question is what settings should i make so that my all pcs can use full available bandwidth/data speed ?
(lan card properties have many settings in advanced tab such as ..packet size, link speed, buffer etc.)
My computer has a problem with crashing while playing a video in full screen. When it crashes the screen turns black while the speakers give out a buzzing noise. Everything is unresposive the only solution is to turn it off with the power button. It happens in any full screen video online or offline and even visualizations from windows media player and iTunes, but only in full screen. I don't think it's overheating either because sometimes it takes 30 mins to crash and other times it will crash immediately when put in full screen. *I've tried setting it back to factory settings thus reinstalling windows. *All the directx features are working with no reported problem there.* I don't think it's a memory issue in the computer, as my specs are:
Windows 7 64-bit Processor: intel core i5 3.20 GHz Ram: 8 GB Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 Graphics card memory: 0.5 GB Any other ideas?
i'm having some trouble with my screen resolution . i set it at (800x600) cause i'm using a 51 inch big screen hd tv. it go's full screen but then for no reason it puts the bars back on the sides of the screen. i checked and it still reads (800x600) and i can't get it to change back to full screen until i reboot. works fine in vista . i'm not seeing anything about drivers failing so i'm not sure what's happening.
