View 2 RepliesOkay, I'm not sure if this can be done as easily as I'm hoping. What I'm wanting to do is move already existing context menu items into a cascading context menu to organize and reduce clutter. For instance, I would have a cascading menu named "Scan with" and inside it would be avast! Internet Security and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.On a side note, does anyone know how to remove the following context menu items?Computer- Show on DesktopControl Panel- Show on DesktopImages- Set as desktopbackground- Print Rotate clockwise- Rotate counterclockwiseMusic/Videos- Add to Windows Media Player List

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove several context menu items for some file types AND folders.I've noticed that the right-click context menus differ depending on the file type, and also the folder type, depending on what type of files are in the folder. I've search far and wide, and have not been able to find software that will let me edit the menus. I've tried ShellExView and ShellMenuView but they don't list any of the menu items I'm looking for. I've tried every other software I could find. Does anyone insight into this? Is it impossible to remove certain items?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis has been happening since the release of SP1 for Windows 7. I don't know if it is exactly that update, but it is one of them that causes a blockage of software adding menus to your context menu. The software that I'm having issues with is PowerISO and Unlocker.
This is a pain in the ass because now I have to restore to before SP1 was installed and it takes forever to reinstall SP1 with updates.
I have installed all Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable Packages and Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable Package SP1 downloads.
everytime i right click on a file my windows explorer is stopped working. With some files it works but 9/10 not.
I have already tried:
-deleted .reg files.
-disable enable context files with autoruns or shellexview
-replace explorer.exe
-replace shell32.dll
-deleted broken .reg files with Ccleaner.exe
In windows XP, I used to be able use "ALT + E + S" to programmatically grab the contents of a command window. This does not work in Windows 7. When you right click on the title, the "Edit" selection no longer has the "E" underlined, indicating the shortcut key to use.
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn these back on?
I installed Magic ISO then uninstalled it and install another ISO program, but Magic ISO still stay on my context menu.*** The image of icon is Ultra ISO but the menu context is not and replacing Magic ISO which I uninstalled before

View 5 Replies View RelatedA few minutes ago I highlighted a URL, right clicked in order to copy and the right click context menu did not open.
Unfortunately one cannot use Edit/Copy in the command bar for a URL.
I then attempted to copy random text from a web page and again no right click context menu. I was able to copy the text using Edit/Copy. I can also use Edit/Copy in notepad.
I also discovered that I have no right click context menu at all. I tried right clicking on the taskbar, the desktop, desktop icons, and in an empty space in my top command bars. Next I tried to copy the URL using SeaMonkey. Didn't work.
It worked earlier today. I have made no changes to anything that would cause this to happen. I really need the context menu. How do I get it back?
edit to add: I uninstalled the software for my mouse, reinstalled, didn't cure the problem. I did a google search and found an article by Microsoft which I followed but did not resolve the issue.
I'm looking for a replacement, preferably customizable, for the desktop context menuI really don't care for anything that's there save for the Display properties.I'm not necessarily looking for a shell replacement, like bblean or kde, rather just the context menu.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI found all of a sudden I had lost the function to Right click on a Folder and Select "NEW" Text Document. So I googled it and landed up here and found some .reg files to restore the .txt option in the Context menu and ran it and it worked Till the following day, then it was gone again?? I tried running the .reg again but this time it didn't do anything.I like trying out all sorts of Programs and open source stuff but with the result I end up reloading Windows every 6 months and I have a shed load of stuff on this small business PC of mine and don't really want to do it again for a while. (Yes I have Daily and Weekly Backups on a 3Tb Drive but it's a lot of work to restore it all)
View 1 Replies View RelatedPhotoscape is my choice of photo editors. When I'm browsing through photos, and I want to edit a particular picture, theoretically I should be able to right-click on the photo to bring up the context menu, and then with the "open with" option, choose Photoscape as the program with which I would like to edit the photo. And if Photoscape is not listed, I should then be able to browse to it and open it with its executable file. Well it is never listed and when I browse to its executable (PhotoScape.exe) it will not open, it just sits there unresponsive, with the "open with" dialog box still open. I can chose another of the listed programs and that program will open, or I can browse to an unrelated program, Quicken, for example, and Quicken will open. There is nothing wrong with the Photoscape executable, because I can go into Windows Explorer and browse to that same .exe file, and it will open with no problem.

I am also looking to add Microsoft Word 2007, and Microsoft Outlook 2007 to that right-click drop down menu too. I would assume, I may be wrong, but would these be conducted or setup the same way like OneNote is? I use these applications a lot and it would make things a little quicker and easier.
I am looking to have it incorporated into the context menu using/running a script with a simple clean code (please no hex code) that I can run to make the quick accurate changes. I am also looking to add a small icon next for each Office program that is the actual program representation in the context menu as well. Please do not provide me the manual method steps to perform this function to the registry. Please provide a completed REG file attached to your response or a Windows System Registry script I can therefore make my own REG file from. I am not interested in a third party program either that would perform this action as well.

I have seen others with the same or similar problem with running the manager from the computer context menus but the only answer iv seen is to do a repare install. There must be something better as how do i know it wont just happen again ? would any1 know what might have caused this? & if im really lucky how to fix it.
