Win 7 RC Will Not Extend To Samsung HDTV
was told this was an install issue. Thought this was strange as it works in Vista and on the Won 7 Beta.  Clean install of RC on a new HDX 16-1140us. 4g RAM, nvidia 9600m GtNO HP software other than required drivers for hardware that are not installed by the Windows installPlug in HDMI cable connected to my Samsung HDTV- Nothing happens.Visit the MObility center to extend manually. In Mobility center, the Samsung HDTV is listed, but I cannot select it to extend toIn the nVidia control panel, the Samsung HDTV is listed as an available Monitor.Added back all the HP software.
Does not helpUsed the Restore disk to return my laptop to factory condition. This would be Vista Home Premium 64 Upon reboot and final restoration process, I plug in the HDMI cable. Vista immediately switches to extend to the Samsung HDTV.I called HP and they laughed....beta product dudeSo I asked what software they install that contains the Media Smart extender....they laughed....beta product dude.But....this worked in the beta product and works with Vista Home Premium with NO configuration.Am I missing something?

No Signal On Boot With Samsung HDTV Over DVI/HDMI
I have done some searching but to no avail. I have tried everything I can find/think of with absolutely no luck. I have a brand new Samsung LN46B750 which I have connected to my desktop for use as an HTPC. VGA works fine, but I would much prefer to use a digital connection. SO, I have an HDMI <> DVI adapter and a monoprice HDMI cable connecting my GeForce 6800 to the HDMI/DVI port on the HDTV. I have tried 182.5 and the latest Nvidia drivers as well as the generic Windows 7 drivers. It's all the same. Everything works fine in the OS so long as I make it past the Windows splash screen. And unfortunately, that never happens. I believe that the problem lies in the auto adjustment of the screen when 7 starts loading. (If I boot without the TV connected, and then connect after the splash screen has loaded, everything is perfect.) Is there any way to disable the auto detection/adjustment of the TV and just have the OS always boot into 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz. I am really tired of the blank or black screen every time I reboot. This is a terrible bug with Windows 7 or EDID and it needs to be fixed now Microsoft!

Can't Extend Partition
So I have 30Gigs on my Windows 7 Partition, which was fine for a while, but I want to use Windows 7 more extensively now so I wanted to extend my partition. I have looked at the tutorial posted in the tutorials, and its as simple as right-clicking the partition and clicking 'Extend Volume'. Well the problem is that no matter what I try, this option is always grayed out. Whenever I right-click any of my partitions, all of the options are available except for 'Extend Volume'. Am I missing a step here, or am I not doing something right?

Extend Primary Partition
Running out of space and I'd like to extend my primary (C) partition to the next drive (D) but in computer management D is listed as "Page file, Logical drive" and it will not allow me to delete it. Would moving page file from D to E partition allow me to extend C into D? If so, how do I move page file in Windows 7 to another partition? If I can't do this in Windows natively does someone have a suggestion on 3rd party software?

Applications Won't Extend Fullscreen
I've noticed a few assorted games don't expand to fit full screen width on a wide screen monitor (despite any stretching). They worked fine on vista. I've tried Windows Update, Updating display drivers and running apps in compat modes. No luck.

Create Partitions / Extend Option Is Grayed Out
I'm trying to partition my 500 GB hard drive into 3 drives total. Right now, there is only a C Drive, but I want to divide that. When I go into the Windows 7 installation, this is what I see: Extend and new are grayed out, and even in disk management, there is no unallocated space. Can somebody please guide me into partitioning this hard drive. I've searched and the only answers I find are for dual boot setups. Partition Magic is not supported by Vista (.: 7 as well).

Computer To HDTV Monitor ?
I just finished a new machine, EVGA VIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ card. The card has two DVI outlets - 1 S Video outlet. I'm using a Sony Bravia 32" XBR for a monitor. Using a DVI to HDMI adapter gives me a not so good picture. Using a DVI to VGA adapter and connecting to the TV in the "PC IN" area, give me a better picture, but still nothing all that great. Using my Dell laptop, with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G video and an HDMI outlet gives me a great picture when I go HDMI to HDMI. I know I am not happy with what I have, I don't know what to do next. My 1st thought, based on the laptop experience, is to get a video card with an HDMI outlet. My 2nd thought is to try the S Video connection, which I would if I had a cable. My 3rd thought was to come here and ask advice from people who probably can come up with more than 3 thoughts at a time.

1080p HDTV Only Supports 720p ?
I have recently bought a HDTV from Philips 32" and it is announced as 1080p. Now, when i tried connecting it to my computer, it says that 1366x768 is the native resolution, and not 1920x1080. I have even tried creating a custom resolution as 1080p to see if it works , but no luck. So, how do i get this TV to work on 1080p? Or better, how do i check to see if it really is 1080p?

HDTV No Video / MKV Codec Problems
I'm having mainly video problems. I'm using the VGA input on my HDTV right now but like to use the HDMI because the VGA input on the TV only will do 1080, and I like to lower the res for certain games. In any case my problem is that upon install and after installing the latest Nvidia drivers when I boot with the video card plugged into the HDMI port I get no video in windows 7. I got it to work in the Beta, and it was random after booting I waited and left the computer and TV on for about 20 minutes and randomly I heard the ding ding sound that I device had been plugged in and the TV started working after that.(I had not done anything but use the Nvidia drivers) I can see the BIOS boot screen just fine but once past that nothing. Now, I've used both ports on my 9800GT evga card and used another monitor so that I can use windows and with the hdmi plugged in as second monitor the Nvidia control panel recognizes the HDTV as Zoran display something or another but I cannot use it as a second display or switch over to it, it just stays blank. On to my second issue with codecs and MKV/other newer HD video formats, in the WMP version that comes with Win 7 the video is laggy and slows down and goes out of sync with the audio after a ffew seconds. I'm running a core2duo e6400 w/4 gigs and dual 9800GT vid cards and I have had it working in the Beta edition just fine. Only problem is that I have no idea how I got it working in the beta, I had been installing and uninstalling codec packs and had a combination installed and unfortunatly I don't remember what they were or what settings I had tweeked. I have tried CCCP and K-Lite 32bit+64bit and Matroska codec, Windows 7 codecs pack, Vista codec packs etc. If anyone can shed light on this it would be great, I also want to be able to play these HD video files/blueray rips in Media Center but I have a feeling that's going to be easier said than done!

No Signal / Black Screen When HDTV Is Connected
I am unable to get the HDTV monitor to work with Windows7RC. During startup, I get the initial load screens but lose the signal when Windows starts loading (assuming its the driver phase???). I can get my older Westinghouse LCD to work with the new setup but not the HDTV LCD. Tried downloading the latest EVGA and ASUS drivers but no luck. DVI cables are connected well. Even tried switching the cable onto the second DVI post (my video card supports two monitors). Also, tried playing with reducing the resolution and color display to minimum levels but still no signal!  Any thoughts? Hardware: ASUS Striker Extreme Motherboard, EVGA GeForce 880GTS video card, Polaroid TLX-04240B 42" HDTV LCD (720p, 50/60Hz,1920x1080).

Asrock 775twins Hdtv R2.0 Installation Tips
i have an asrock 775 twins hdtv r2.0 mainboard with uli M5287 chipset and tried to install windows 7 beta (7000) 64 bit on it. sata drivers are not included and i was not able to select my sata drive/partition so here's the solution: 1) goto http://www.nvidia.com => driver downloads => uli drivers => download integrated200 http://www.nvidia.com/page/uli_drivers.html 2) extract the zip 3) extract the .exe file with a zip tool (in my case 7-zip, context menu extract files) 4) copy folder SATAM5287 to usb stick 5) restart pc with windows 7 install dvd 6) boot from dvd 7) start the installation 8) in the drive/partition selection dialog you will se no drives (except if you have ide drives connected) 9) click load driver and select the .inf file from the usb stick from the M5287 folder and the corresponding subfolder 32 bit (i386) or 64 bit (AMD64). 10) select the device (if there are two choose the first - this works for me) 11) you will see your drive/partition and can install windows 7 on the sata drives maybe this helps someone... this workaround may also work for M5281, M5288, M5289 chips as they are also in the exe included.

HDMI At 1280x720 Out To 720p HDTV Has Edges Off Screen
I have a Dell 1525 with the intel 965 chipset graphics. I had XP and Vista 32bit installed previously and the graphics drivers would have an extra option to change the horizontal and vertical position of the screen. But now with Seven x64 and the drivers downloaded from Update, I can't seem to fix the problem. Whenever I have a program maximized on my hdtv a few pixels width wise will be off screen. Just enough to have the menu bars and scroll bars off screen. Are there any third party programs to fix this? I tried installing x64 Vista drivers and they would invert and wash out the colors on my screen, totally unusable.

Problem With Radeon 4890 On Sony Bravia HDTV
The problem is that for some reason I cannot get a pixel perfect screen to the Sony Bravia Full HD LCD TV with the Radeon 4890. There are always black borders around the screen. Have the Catalyst 9.11 Suite for Windows 7 (64 bit) installed. With a Nvidia 8800gt there is no need for any kind of settings, the picture is pixel perfect HD 1080p straight away. Any idea how to get the resolution / settings correct?

Dvico Fusion Usb HDTV Tuner Audio Problem
The problem that I'm experiencing right now did not exist in build 7000. the audio is all choppy for the lack of better term - useless. I'm on HP dv7-1175nr with IDT audio. Lucky for me (sort of) I have a dual boot setup so I can watch tv. My laptop is my only source of entertainment but due to lack of proper driver support for XP from HP and and IDT I was not able to activate built in mikes and the small subwoofer so the audio is lacking. Having to switch between OSs is tiresome so now I'm on XP all the time. I need a solution to this problem also can I reinstall build 7000? I have a bootable disk and the key.

DLNA Samsung TV
I have a Samsung LN40A750 TV and apparently for the "A" versions you can no longer get the linkstick. I ordered a "B" version of the linkstick but it didn't work (it said it wouldn't but I figured I'd try it anyway). In the end I settled on purchasing a Linksys WET610N Wireless bridge. That worked as the TV has an IP address and I can use WiseLink to see the content being shared from the computers on my network. The PLAYTO feature in Windows is what really want to work with this lashup but the TV is not recognized by Windows 7 as a device.  Any thoughts on how to get the TV to be recognized as a device while connected to the bridge? Is this something provided by the linkstick for this TV? BTW, it does identify the WET610N wireless bridge as a device in Windows. I have a Samsung Omnia 2 phone. It too is DLNA compliant and I can PLAYTO that device.

Samsung Monitor Driver
I've had an ongoing problem with this for some time now. You can see here that my Device Manager tells me that I'm missing a video controller, and also in that post is my inability to watch full screen videos online. Here, I talk about the problems I've had with my display driver crashing. Now, yesterday I downloaded Photoshop, and as it opened, a window popped up saying that my "monitor Profile" is defective and needs to be calibrated (See first attachment). If I choose to Ignore Profile, I can use Photoshop as usual, but everything I export has an irremovable yellow tinge. If I choose to Use Anyway, there is no white in Photoshop's color pallet, only the same yellowish color. This got me thinking for the first time that my monitor was the cause of my problems, so I searched online for Samsung 2243swx drivers. On their webpage, they had up for download only one driver, which is for a VGA graphics card (See second attachment). I've been running a PCI graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS), and I was wondering if this could be the problem. Would you say I ought to buy a VGA graphics card?

Samsung R60 Drivers
I was wondering if Samsung have released drivers for the R60 laptop that are fully functional in Windows 7, when I installed Windows 7 I had to search for all of the drivers myself, I was given a disk with the laptop but it only works in Vista. When running a benchmark test, the graphics were much better in Vista because I dont think I can find the right driver for the graphics card in Windows 7. Also, a lot of the Fn buttons dont work anymore, for example changing the brightness, turning off the display, showing the battery level on screen, etc. I assume this is done through the chipset driver which I never had to install or even looked for. Also, one last thing, with my graphics card on Vista I get a little ATI icon in the notification area, along with the Catalyst Control Centre, although I never get this in Windows 7.

It does not even recognize the device when connected. Recently upgraded to Win 7 RC. Same problem in Win 7. Tried deleting the partnership, uninstalling and reinstalling WMDC. No difference. The last I tried - unistalled the drivers for the device and tried to connect it to have it reinstalled. The drivers do not load successfully.
