Upgrade Or Full Version To Install Win 7 64-bit From Vista 32-bit
I have Windows Vista 32-bit. Would I be able to install Windows 7 64-bit with an UPGRADE disk or would I have to use a "FULL VERSION" disk? The question answered on the Windows 7 page doesn't seem to answer this, or at least clearly. Yes, I know I have to do a custom install.

Where To Buy Upgrade From 64 Bit Vista To 64 Bit Win 7 ?
hello, I currently have a inspiron 531s motherboard with a OEM vista 32bit, I also have a license for vista 64 bit but its an upgrade version, is there any possible way that I can get a w7 upgrade license, I cant afford to buy the full version, I can only afford to get the upgrade version, I was wondering how much it is, a friend of mine purchased a upgrade license from his vista 64 bit to w7 for 50$ I was wondering if there is any way I can possibly do that, I prefer going from my vista 32 bit OEM to w7 64 bit that would be a lot easier but if that wont work I will install my 64 bit vista and go to w7 64 bit, I don't know where to buy the w7 upgrade.

Cannot Upgrade From Win Vista 64-bit To Win7 64-bit
I'm running vista home premium 64-bit. and yet every time i run windows 7 set up i get the following compatibility report: Â The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue. You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go on-line to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings. 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc. yes i get both of those 'errors'. the windows 7 IS a 32/64-bit installation disc. it gives me the option to choose x32 or x64 at the start of installation. it just doesn't seem to be detecting my current 64-bit setup for some reason? if i chose to install x32 version, it gives me the "You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows" error. and yet when i choose x64 installation it gives me BOTH errors mentioned above. whats going on here?

I am currently using Vista Home Premium 32 bit only, OEM media, my PC is 64 bit capable. Will I be able to use the upgrade version of Windows 7 to install the 64 bit O/S or am I only able to upgrade to 32 bit? I have preordered Win 7 and I need to know if I need to cancel the upgrade and purchase the full retail version.

Will Product Key For Win 7 64 Bit Business Upgrade Work With 32 Bit Install
I purchased several copies of Windows7 including the upgrade offer deal from Microsoft for Business. The upgrade CD came as a 64 bit which I will eventually install on my machine, but for the next several months I need to run 32 bit (legacy software which we are phasing out). Will the product key for the the 64 bit upgrade work with 32 bit install (I have a 32 bit Business which I have already installed on a different machine with its own product key).

Upgrade From 32-bit Vista To 64-bit Win 7
Will it be ok to upgrade from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7? I got a Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 in March and it has 32-bit Vista on it. I want to purchase Windows 7 during the pre-release sale that starts tomorrow, but I was going to maybe get the 64-bit version to try and squeeze some more performance

Student And Faculty 32-bit Upgrade Version To 64-bit
I recently purchased a copy of Win 7 Ultimate upgrade for Student and Faculty under the Microsoft Student Select program. Unfortunately at the time they did not specify whether it was the 32 bit or the 64-bit version and my understanding was that upgrade version included both 32 and 64 bit versions. When I received it, it was the 32-bit version only. My question is this; 1)Is there a 64-bit version of the Win 7 Ultimate upgrade for student and faculty? 2)Are the product codes interchangeable between the 32/64 bit versions (I read in a thread they were for the retail versions, was not sure this applied to Student and Faculty version) 3)How I can get a hold of the 64-bit version? As the operating of the programme says they only have the 32-bit version.

Use 64-bit Key On A 32 Bit Upgrade Version
As student I purchased the digital-river Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and I'm happy with it. My university store also lets me buy a Windows 7 DVD for $ 43. I'm considering doing this for a possible second computer or to upgrade a laptop we have. I want to buy the 64-bit version (since the future is 64-bit). It seems the university store either sells 64-bit or 32-bit DVDs, not one of the packages with both DVDs. Could I buy the 64-bit DVD and install one of the 32-bit bit versions with that 64-bit key (the digital river links had leaked) on the laptop for the time being? the laptop only has 32 bit processor. But it might only live for 1-2 years. then I'd get some 64-bit computer. I'd buy the Pro-version. I don't think there is anything illegal, since I legally buy two different student discounts from different vendors. I also will use that one key only for one license at a time (and also assume once I register online MS makes sure it only works on one PC).

Installing Both 32 Bit And 64 Bit Version Of Win 7 On Same Computer
I would like to know if it's possible to install, using the oem installation DVD, the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate and, using VMWare Workstation, the 32 bit version from the same installation DVD (without buying another installation key). I'm asking this because I have to use a specialized software running only on a 32 bit version of Windows...

Upgrade From Vista Business 32 Bit To Win7 Pro 64 Bit
I have tried to install this software and am unable to do so, either from the unpacked download file, or from the iso file which I created following a thread on another forum.I also tried to install Win 7 Pro using the full retail DVD version I have also purchased and entering the product key I received in the e-mail from Digital River. Is this because I tried a custom install after formatting the disc drive, rather than an upgrade install? (And yes I did double check that I was entering the correct product key exactly as shown in the e-mail.)In other words is the product key for an upgrade version of the software different from the full version. If it is then I will try to install from my retail DVD using the upgrade path which will be easier than trying to get the Digital River software to work.

Vista 32 Bit To Win7 64 Bit With Upgrade Disc
I currently have vista 32 bit installed and was thinking of upgrading to windows 7 64 bit. From what I've read, it is possible to do this using the upgrade disc, but not with the in place upgrade. Wondering if anyone could explain how to do a proper clean install using the upgrade disc. Thanks. BTW, I am running the home edition of vista and would be going to home premium of windows 7 if that makes any difference.

Student Upgrade From Vista Ultimate 64 Bit Without A Clean Install
I purchased the academic version of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit under an apparent misunderstanding that I could upgrade and not have to do a complete reinstall which would cost me 3 days of thesis development time to reinstall the Autodesk, Adobe & other software that I use. Could someone please explain to me why (after paying a higher price for Vista Ultimate in the first place) I cannot purchase a student version of Windows 7 Ultimate or upgrade without a clean install which requires a complete reinstall of all of the programs on my computer? Is there something that I am overlooking?

But if I want to upgrade my Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit, Will I be able to do it with this upgrade disk? after all I will need a fresh install (because 32 to 64) and this is the upgrade version.

I have Vista 64 bit Ultimate Business installed and it is a dog. My main program, Peachtree Accounting, was difficult to install and I had to do some workarounds in order to make it work. Peachtree is better off in a 32 bit enviroment. Is it possible to install Windows 7 in the 32 bit program? What issues am I expected to face? The computer was originally installed with Vista Home 64.

Bsod: Installing Win 7 64 Bit From Vista 64 Bit
Just finished trying to reinstall this for the third time. Somone suggested to remove all antivirus & mal-ware programs before the install as this might prevent registry edits. So I did, and still got the BSOD. Now everything is installed again for Vista. Not sure how to find the BSOD error as I have only seen it once. Every other time I walk into the room, my comp starts into Vista with a message saying that this computer is incompatable with Windows 7 and your previous version of Windows has been installed.Guess the bugs aren't fixed.

Upgrade From Vista 64-Bit To Win 7 RC1 - Aborts At 63%
I'm getting the error at the 63% mark of transferring files / programs. All it tells me is "werfault.exe instruction at 0x77363892 can not be read.". I couldn't find any log file that might point to what's wrong here. In reading other threads, I have a feeling it * may * be related to my Logitech webcam driver (they are not yet ready for Windows 7 64-bit), but I'd like to see if perhaps there is an additional issue. Anybody know what I can check to see what happened? Or is the fact that the error routine "werfault.exe" itself crashed will leave me with nothing to check out?

Can I Install Win 7 X32 Bit Then Later To Win 7 X64 Bit With Same Licence Key ?
I currently run Windows XP x32 bit Operating System. I have ordered the "full retail" version of Windows 7. I understand that 2 discs will be enclosed in the box, one for installing Windows 7 x32 bit and the other for installing Windows 7 x64 bit. I understand that I need to choose whether I want the x32 bit or x64 bit Windows 7 Operating System and install the 1 I choose at that point. I am quite happy with that. However, what I would like to do is initially install the Windows 7 x32 bit system and in about 6 months (when I have upgraded my hardware sufficiently) then move on to the x64 bit Windows 7 Operating System.  Can I do this with the same 1 licence that comes with the full retail version I have just ordered or will I need to buy another copy of Windows 7 ? It would not bother me if I had to do a "clean install" to move from x32 bit to x64 bit.
