I just bought Windows 7 home premium english.I want to upgrade the OS from the english version to french version or language. How to do so.

Upgrade Win7 From Spanish To English
My HP TouchSmart 300 (December 09) PC, OE Win 7 Premium works only in "Spanish" as I purchased this PC in Mexico where I presently reside on a temporary basis for the winter. I do not speak Spanish. I want to use the "Anytime Upgrade" to upgrade from Win 7 Premium to Win 7 Ultimate. Windows 7 Ultimate has 'English' language amongst it's multiple language possibilities. Is there any reason why I should not be able to install the upgrade English language Windows 7 Ultimate over the HP OE Spanish language Windows 7 Premium?

Upgrade XP Prof X64 English To Win7 Ultimate X64 Dutch
Ok, i'm dazzled by the many websites with each a different opinion, upgrade paths, and so. It took me hours of reading and clicking. I'm nearly fed up. So finally made it to this forum. With my question: Is it possible to legally upgrade from XP professional X64 English (OEM) to Windows 7 Ultimate X64 Dutch? Retail or OEM needed? BTW: Windows 7 Professional X64 Dutch would be a good alternative. It's unclear to me if it' s allowed to switch from an English OS to a dutch OS. Some say any new OS MUST be the same language as the old one. But is this also appliable for the Ultimate version, since it can switch to other languages after install? I will be doing a clean install. Further on i am struggling with the ' professional' to ' ultimate' switch. In some cases that path would not be allowed, others say it is allowed. What we'd need is a wizard containing all the different choices and possiblilities. Simply choose the old OS from a drop down menu and the new OS, and it would tell you YES thats possible or NO, impossible. And under what conditions. Would draw a lot of site visitors. Just my 2 cents.

Upgrade Xp In Other Language Than English
I am a XP user in Holland, so I used Dutch as a language for my computer. I know I could use the English, but so it is. I tried to upgrade my computer to Windows7, but it says that an other language is not possible. When I read the dixtionary files online then I red that it is still possible with some extra actions. Is this true or do I red it wrong?

English Win 7 Key + German Install Disks, Will It Work ?
I have an OEM version of Win 7 Pro (English) currently installed on my system. I am currently upgrading my Motherboard and CPU, building another system with the old parts. As the recipients of my old setup are German, the OS needs to be in German for them also. Here is my dilemma. When I pickup a new copy of Win 7 it will be in German (as I am living in Germany). They need a German instillation of 7 and my current OEM key is locked to the old motherboard. Will I be able to use that English OEM key with a German instillation, then use the new German key with my current English disks?

French Keyboard Layout Randomly Appears By Itself
I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I have two keyboard layouts installed - English and Russian. I use Ctrl-Shift to switch between input languages. Randomly (usually two or three times per week) French(French) "AZERTY keyboard would get installed by itself. So now my languages would cycle English-French-Russian. If I click on the language bar I can see the French keyboard there. If I go to control panel "Keyboard languages and other input methods" - French keyboard is not mentioned there. If I manually install and then uninstall it via control panel then the "rogue" French keyboard layout goes away from the language bar. Rebooting the computer also does the trick.

Upgrade Path Problem - Win 7 RC To Vista To Win7 Upgrade
I installed Win 7 RC on a new build and purchased Vista Home Premium 64bit OEM with upgrade to Win 7 Home premium. The Win 7 upgrade disc has arrived. I understand that Vista must be installed and activated for the upgrade to work. Attempts to install Vista with Win 7 RC running or booting from the Vista disc lead to error code 0x80070103, insufficient free space. My HDD has > 450 Gb free space in 2 partitions. Do I need to reformat the HDD in order to install Vista over Win 7?

Win7 To Win 7 In-place Upgrade Is Not Option ?
I have a IBM Lenovo laptop which has a 7b boot device blue-screen error now in Windows 7 RTM. I am unable to repair this using windows repair. I tried to do a boot from DVD in-place upgrade but this appears to not be an option for my configuration. It keeps telling me that I must reboot with the existing Windows 7 install and run setup from inside of Windows 7. Unfortunately due to the blue screen error I m unable to boot into the OS and launch the setup and run an in-place upgrade. I tried to do that already which got me into this mess and the infinite loop associated with repairing windows on every re-boot. Is there anyway to run setup with some type of command that forces the upgrade to occur?

I'm trying to upgrade from Win7 Home Premium to Win7 Professional on my new machine. I click the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon and get the dialog to "Go online and choose the edition that is right for you" "After your purchase, Windows will upgrade automatically". Well, it rejects every form of payment I've given it, so this is broken. I call into the Microsoft Store and they have never heard of this path and insist the only way to upgrade is through the postal service (in other words, through the mail). Who can I call or talk to about buying a product key that will be given to me by EMAIL or PHONE? 1-877-696-7786 is absolutely not the right answer to my question.

Win 7 Home Prem (64) UPGRADE To Win7 Pro (64)
I emailed Microsoft support this question and got a useless answer back; they just sent me a link to download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which basically told me what I already knew (that my system is capable of running Windows 7). So I called them just now and the so-called "tech support" person wasn't much of a help either, she didn't seem too bright and didn't know much about the whole upgrade process, giving me conflicting information. So, I hope someone on here can answer this for me. I recently bought a new laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Then I found out that Home Premium does not have "XP Mode" capability, so I used the Student Discount offer to buy Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (full version not upgrade) from Microsoft's website for $29.99 (what a bargain!). Can anyone tell me FOR SURE, whether I can do just an upgrade (where all my manufacturer's pre-installed applications, drivers, and all my currently installed applications and settings are preserved) or if I MUST do a clean install (reinstalling all of these applications, etc.)?

Upgrade Win 7 Home Premium To Win7 Pro On DVD
I have Win 7 Home premium installed and activated.(it came on the computer) The non profit that I do work for allows us to buy the Win 7 Pro upgrade DVD for almost nothing so I did. When I try to upgrade from within Windows, it tells me that I need to use Windows anytime upgrade. When I attempt to use it, and type in the provided 25 digit license, it takes it, starts the upgrade, and then tells me that the license number is valid, but not for anytime upgrade. When I try and boot directly from the DVD with the system BIOS set for DVD as 1st boot item, it skips right past the DVD and boots from the hard drive. Is there anyway to do this upgrade from the DVD, or is it only good if I do a complete re install?

BSOD 0x00000124 - Win7 RC1 Upgrade From Win Vista Ultimate
I just tried to Upgrade to Windows 7 RC1 from Windows Vista Ultimate When rebooting, I get the windows 7 boot screen, and directy after that a BSOD displays with the STOP code: STOP: 0x00000124 (0x00000004,0x84437024,0x00000000,0x00000000) I have already tried to disabled the C1E option in my BIOS, and as far as I currently know, I dont have a onboard video card. What really bugs me, is that I cant seem to find what the 2nd parameter is, since I have not found any post with the exact similar error code.

We currently run 3 PCs at home (all 32 bit): PC 1: German Windows Vista Home Premium PC 2 & 3: English Windows XP Home I'd like to purchase the Windows 7 family pack (English) to upgrade all of the PCs (clean install preferred). Questions: 1. Can all 3 PCs be upgraded to the English version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with the family pack, despite the different language versions? 2. When performing a clean install, is it sufficient to enter the product key of the previously installed system when using the upgrade disk/key or is the old system required on the harddisk? 3. Just to confirm: The family pack comes with both, the 32 bit and 64 bit version for Windows 7 Home Premium?

Removing The English US Keyboard Layout
I'm a new user of the Windows 7 operating system. So far I'm content with it, it's just that I have one problem unsolved. I've been trying for the past few weeks to remove the English US keyboard without any success. I have no problem adding any new keyboards/languages, but that specific keyboard just won't go away, and it's causing me trouble. I've Googled it and found no answer. Is there any way I could do something about it? Anyone has any idea? Anything would be useful.

Some Programs Display Japanese Not English
I live in Japan and I'm from America. I have set my PC to view everything in English. But, some programs that I have loaded will only display in Japanese. Mostly this are the programs from Asus. I have sent several mails about this and have heard nothing from them. So I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it?

Display Language From English To Chinese
I download a Traditional Chinese language pack (iso) from Microsoft Connect and I followed the instruction that i found from Internet to change my windows display language from English(default) to Chinese but I'm having problem to install it. In the installation windows after i browsed for the language pack file it tells me that "the language cannot be installed in this computer" (see screen shot below). Any help? My windows 7 version: v 6.1 Build 7077

I upgraded from Win XP to Win7 Pro, but used the 32bit disk. What do I need to do to upgrade using the 64bit version of Win7 pro, (both 32bit and 64bit upgrade disks were sent in my upgrade purchase). Works great but want to try the 64bit version. Do I need to reinstall WinXP to do a clean install, or can I just use the upgrade version 64 of Win7 without the XP?

Keyboard Stuck On English Language After Each Reboot
I use a lot the french language for my email and everytime i reboot i get the english keyboard showing. I put it back to french and it comes back the next time i reboot. I wish to have the option to choose the language and keep it everytime i open my computer. Maybe you guys can fix that bug ?

Cannot Upgrade From Win Vista 64-bit To Win7 64-bit
I'm running vista home premium 64-bit. and yet every time i run windows 7 set up i get the following compatibility report: Â The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue. You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go on-line to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings. 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc. yes i get both of those 'errors'. the windows 7 IS a 32/64-bit installation disc. it gives me the option to choose x32 or x64 at the start of installation. it just doesn't seem to be detecting my current 64-bit setup for some reason? if i chose to install x32 version, it gives me the "You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows" error. and yet when i choose x64 installation it gives me BOTH errors mentioned above. whats going on here?

Win7 (32bit) To Win7 (64bit) Upgrade Install Error
I have purchased and downloaded both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows7 Professional (no CDs or media here only download version) I sucessfully upgraded from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32 Then I upgraded my hard disk (140Gb 500GB) and RAM (3GB to to 4GB) Now I would like to go from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit When I try and run the Windows 7-P-retail-en-us.x64.exe file it upacks the box then stops with this error:"We are unable to create or save files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write flies and that that folder is not read only". I am the System Admin and I have full rights, and have moved the exe and the setup box files to My Documentsand I have modified the directory properties/attributes but I still get the same error over and over. I searched the posts and some people stated one needs a clean install others say you can upgrade from any version so I am trying the upgrade here especially since the upgrade from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32 was smooth and did require all the extra work of a reinstall.

If I have WIN XP Pro, can I 1st upgrade to Vista; then Upgrade to Win 7 without 'clean install'. I currently have 4 desk and Laptops with Vista Ultimate (OEM Dell) and 2 desk with Vista Bus and Vista Ult upgrades. However, I have 3 other units with XP PRO and clients with another 20 machines (XP PRO). If we first did a 32 bit Vista upgrade, could we then do a "Windows 7 Upgrade" WITHOUT a clean install to save the human resource time?
