Am on Windows 7, and reinstalled it couple of times before, although it works probably, but games dont work, gives me crashAPP message, and even failed to install it. even play player dont play some files. am wondering is this is due to deleted Reg keys, and how can I restore deleted reg keys if I reinstalled windows. or reinstalling windows has the cure ?

Also, there is a combined graphics card, one worse than the other, and I always seem to be suing the worse one, whne i want to use the better one. BTW, I am using an ASUS.

I have dos box and it's still not working!! I would of assumed windows 7 would of had a program installed that would automatically allow you to play these games? What do i need to do? I'm not always keen or too confident at changing my computers settings is there a laymans guide at all?
I recently had a problem with my games (found in the thread here) that involved the games lagging badly. It turned out to be an image settings preference that I hadn't set properly. In my attempt to fix the problem however I did a clean install of drivers and updated to v301.42.
Since I installed the new driver none of my games would start (NBA 2K12, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim etc.) and simply go to a black windowed screen. Skyrim tells me that 'Your display doesn't support the selected resolution'. However, I am using the native resolution (1680x1050) for my monitor.
i use a dell laptop and i cant be able to play any game even the OS games. it says directDraw acceleration, DirectD3 acceleration and AGP texture acceleration are not available. Ii also says hardware acceleration is disabled?

I will never learn anything at this rate. I cant see why the windows 7 creators would insist I use a player with the windows name, windows media player, if it does not even work. How limited and it should be embarassing.
I'm Just the other day when i cut on my computer it wouldnt boot so i tried to restore it to a earlier time but it wouldnt work so i tried to restore to factory setting and it wouldnt do that either now i get a message telling me to restart installation cause windows couldnt be completed can someone please help. View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate I was really just uping it to the 64bit beause I accidentally installed the 32 bit. So after doing all of this Windows 7 is working fine however upon boot up where normally I would have the option to choose which OS I wanted to start up, it just goes straight to windows instead of giving me an option. I had the latest version of Ubuntu, and I know that when I installed widows I put it on the right partition of my C: drive. Do I need to know reinstall Ubuntu as well or is there some kind of setting I have to change to get it to show me the OS selecting screen.

My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium as title states. This apparently is one of the only Windows 7 editions that cannot run a Virtual PC Windows XP mode so i'm out of good ideas.
The other computer is using windows xp, i have manually installed an ipx protocol.
Does microsoft have any possible fixes? I'd rather not download shady software such as IPX emulators if it can be avoided.

My mouse pointer would start refreshing/flickering every 5 minutes or so and it would slow down anything I was watching or playing at the time. It doesn't really bother me when I watch movies because I can just shake the mouse and it would stop but when I play games I can't do anything about it and so I can't really play any games. I asked my repair man, he also has Windows 7 but he didn't know how to fix it.
