StarTech USB 2.0 VGA Driver Problem
I have a StarTech USB2VGA2 Adapter, which enables me to add an extra monitor to my Laptop dock via USB when working in the office. Unfortunately the hardware/driver gives me an issue. If I install the driver, then plug in the USB hardware all seems fine, but after the mandatory reboot the laptop will bluescreen in Win32k.sys after logon. As the driver is stated as a vista driver and I know it worked fine with Vista on the same hardware I have tried installing it in Vista compatibility mode. I have also tried using Vista Compatibility mode and running the install as an administrator. The vendor seems to be unconcerned and said they were waiting on a driver from the chipset manufacturer and had no ETA. Any suggestions as to how to get this working would be appreciated, or alternatively how I could get the extra monitor up and running cheaply on my Lenovo T400 Dock without using the StarTech USB device.

Linksys Usb Wireless Adaptor Not Installing
I just installed windows 7 this morning and thought that it would be best to get the internet running first thing then start putting on all the programs that I would like to have. While running the linksys wireless usb adapter the setup will recognize that the adapter is inserted into the computer in multiple different usb ports but will not finish the install once inserted. Is this a known windows 7 bug or am I doing something wrong wih the installation? If you would like more information just ask and I would be more than happy to provide it.

Belkin Or Retail Plus+ Wireless N USB Adaptor
Trying to install a Belkin Wireless or Retail Plus+ N USB Adapter, which the microsoft page says is compatible with Windows 7 (for the Belkin) and receiving an error basically saying the driver is not compatible with this operating system. This is a brand new computer that came with Windows 7 installed and has 0 internet access right now....what can you suggest? Also, I do have a wired internet access point in my house I can move it to, if there is something I need to download I can probably do this. It's been hours, and I feel like I may have to take the whole thing back. I would prefer to use the Retail Plus+ USB adapter for this system if given the choice, since the Belkin is in use on another computer in the house, but I'll take whatever is out there.

NETGEAR Wireless USB Adaptor Not Recognize
I have a wireless NETGEAR USB Adaptor MA101 which works perfectly fine with Windows XP SP2. After installing Windows 7 RC it says my adaptor is unrecognised (unknown device). I've installed the program/driver and yet I can't even open the program. I tried changing the compatibility to Windows XP SP2 but yet the program won't launch, nor is the device being detected. Thoughts?

Polar IrDA 2.0 USB Adaptor Drivers
After having to do an clean install of Windows 7 to get my graphics adaptor working properly the only outstanding hardware issue left is the Polar IrDA 2.0 USB adaptor. When I plug this in it doesn't plug and play and remains as an unknown device. I've had a look at other posts on this subject but can't quite seem to get any to work - can anyone give me a hand with this please? I managed to manually install unknown device (actually a Sigmatel STIr42xx) and it now recognises it as a IR adaptor, but the vista driver is not working...

Clearwire USB 4G Adaptor Blue Screens On Removal
I've read through these forums and have managed to get my new Clearwire 4G USB adaptor (Motorola USBw100, IIRC) working. However, when I remove the device from the system while the computer is on, the computer will blue screen. If I first go to USB devices and eject the modem, I'm good. I can even reconnect it later and hook right up to the clearwire network without issues. I'm just wondering how to fix the blue-screening when the device is disconnected. I'm running a dell studio xps16, 64bit Windows 7 (RTM) and have the latest clear drivers from their site.

Is Netgear WG111T Usb Wireless Adaptor Supported ?
I've been trying to get my Netgear WG111t usb wireless adaptor to work under windows 7 but have had little luck. I've tried old drivers and got the latest drivers from the Netgear website. I've also tried disabling driver signature check but still no luck. Lastly I tried using the RealTek 8187B drier that apparently work with the wg111 v2 but still nothing, it know that it's plugged in but it won't recognize any of the drivers I've tried.

Standard VGA Adapter
I just installed Windows 7 RC1 32-bit OS onto my laptop. Without thinking i needed any drivers, i went to play World of Warcraft. It told me that it could not locate a display device and wouldn't work. I figured i needed to install my grpahics card drivers for my Nvidia 9 series card. When i went to install the drivers, an error message appeared saying that it could not locate drivers compatible with my device. I went to dxdiag and under display it shows that i have a standard vga adapter and won't recognize my actual graphics card. I'm not sure if i'm missing drivers, i haven't installed anything else except for this attempt at installing the nvidia driver.

HP Quickplay And VGA Error
Blu-Ray is always a fun problem in 7 because of what I have determided to be a VGA error, I used to get this when my Nviaida drivers were set to dual screens but when I setup the screen off and screen on profiles in Vista it was fixed. With 7 I now get that error all the time but try as I must I can't get it to go away now, I am even running Quick Play (Latest version) in Vista mode which helped the speed of loading but not the VGA error. I would really like to play one of my movies soon because every time I try to configure the dual screen setup in 7's rez screen it seems to revert to having both avalable to the Quick Play program so it doesn't let me watch the movie; It thinks I am going to doop the movie to another source. So I am really a victom of anti-piracy.

Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
I put Windows 7 on my friends computer since he wanted me to, so I installed it. But there was one problem. His resolution is stuck at 640x480. It said he is running from a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. His computer is fairly old, but all of the hardware is pretty good except for the video card. I brought him my old 7700 GTS for him to use for the time being, but I cannot install the drivers for it, and the computer still says he is running Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.

Problems When Using D-sub(VGA) Only LCD Monitors
A lot of people are experiencing problems when using LCD monitors connected through D-sub(VGA). I for example cannot use native resolution 1680x1050 after installing Windows 7 on computer with ATI X700. (It worked just fine on Windows 7 on old Intel 945 chipset motherboard with integrated video) When I bring my kid's monitor which is basically the same model but with DVI input Windows 7 automatically(!) sets resolution to 1680x1050. After I switch back to my monitor with D-sub only input 1680x1050 isn't even listed in "list all modes" ("hide modes that this monitor cannot display" unchecked). This is really weird. (DVI-to-D-sub connector doesn't help) The question is: Could this be solved by editing monitor.inf or something like that?

Cannot Get Rid Of Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
I just installed Windows 7 Professional 64x. Previously, I had 32-bit Vista Ultimate. I have a Dell Precision M90, with 4 gigs of ram, a 2.00 GHz core duo processor, and a Nvidia Quadro FX 2500M video card. In the device manager, my display adapter shows as Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. I'm decent with computers, so I've upgraded video card drivers before. However, for some reason it is not allowing me to upgrade this driver. I have tried with both a 2500M driver as well as a 7900GTX driver (which worked for me in Vista). I have also tried uninstalling the driver first, but it won't let me install another one before restarting and when I restart it just reinstalls the Standard VGA Graphics adapter.

Intel 852/855GME On Vga Driver
For the life of me I can not understand why a card that is capable of fairly high performance only installs at 800x600. While working with the WDK I found that the card does not directly AERO but the vga driver should recognize more of it's capabilities. Could someone a little more schooled in the Voodo Magic of video drivers please include the full resolution range of the 852/855GME in the VGA Driver in Windows 7.

1280x1024 32 Bit With Standard VGA Driver
Is there any way to force the Standard VGA Driver to display in 1280x1024 32bit? If I look at the modes available, then I find 1280x1024, but only in 16bit. I have an old Nvidia GeForce2 MX/400, and after installing the XP drivers I was able to run at 1280x1024 in 32bit, but I was getting some crashes in nv4_mini.sys when trying to install DVDFab. "The Internet" tells me that this is due to the XP drivers, so I uninstalled them again and rolled back to the Standard VGA Driver and was able to install the software. But now I am limited to 16bit again. So, is there any way to force this?

Updated Resolutions For Standard VGA Driver
It's been what... 10+ years of the same "Standard VGA Driver" which used to serve a more useful role when screens were smaller, but these days in the age of laptops, the resolutions it supports are just not working. We use several medium age laptops (3-5 years), still 64 bit, still multi-core, and certainly not beyond their prime, unfortunately NVIDIA doesn't produce windows 7 drivers for the vid cards in our machines (GForce 440 Go). The only driver that really works is the Standard VGA Driver, but it only supports standard resolutions from 10 years ago, the largest being 1024x768. This means we just can't use Windows 7 on any of these machines, which we were hoping to do, simply because the SVD doesn't offer 1280x800. Couple questions, has anyone produced a customized version of the Standard VGA driver? Or an Standard WXGA Driver? Or is it possible to add resolutions ourselves to the standard driver that would solve this seemingly simple problem? Last, why hasn't Microsoft updated the supported list of resolutions to cover at least the basics for laptops or even the base screen resolutions of any modern LCD screen? Again, love Windows 7, just wish we could use it on all our machines!

Network Adaptor Problems
I upgraded from Windows XP 64bit to Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I'm currently running on wireless Internet and the signal is very weak so I want to run a hard wire to the router. I got into Change Network Adapter so I can use the hard wire instead of the wireless but the network adapter for the motherboard isn't showing up. I tried reinstalling the Ethernet driver off the CD that came with the motherboard and tried downloading the most current version from their website but nothing shows up still. I also have a USB network adapter I tried to install just to see if the other adapter would show up in the change network adapter section and nothing still. So basically I could have 3 different adapters but only one shows up and really want to use a wired connection. Anyone have any other ideas on how to make my motherboard Ethernet network adapter show up?
