TV Card Works With XP But Not Win7

My TV card (unknown brand, 878TV) works beautifully with XP pro but not with windows 7. I've tried everything repeatedly, new drivers etc. Is the only solution to buy a new TV card? It works partially with DScaler, but not at all with the win7 player.

ATI Card Works Fine In Win 7 Ult RC, Not In Win7 Prof
I've been using the Windows 7 Ultimate release candidate as an evaluation copy for a while now with no problems. I have an ATI radeon mobility X1600 graphics card in my laptop and I'm using an external monitor through my laptop's DVI port. I bought a product key for Windows 7 professional and therefore had to reinstall that version because I'm using Ultimate as the evaluation copy. I have each version on its own partition so I can switch back and forth between the two.

The problem is that the newly installed windows professional copy will not recognize my ATI graphics card and I can't use my external monitor. It has the standard windows VGA adapter drivers installed. I've installed and run the ATI file i downloaded off their site, '9-9_beta_win7_32_dd_CC', and this accomplishes nothing. I looked in device manager on the working ultimate version and the card is installed correctly so I copied all of the drivers and files it says its using and then tried to update the driver for the standard windows VGA adapter and it says it can't find any better drivers than the current ones.

I remember initially having this same problem when I first installed the Windows 7 Ultimate RC several months ago but I have no clue how I was able to get it to work... Any ideas?

Homegroup Works With Ethernet Card Not With Wifi
I've started a homegroup on a desktop pc running windows 7 RC 64-bit and connect to my router through an ethernet card.

I can join and use this homegroup from my netbook running windows 7 RC 32-bit but only when using the ethernet (wired) connection.

As soon as I unplug the network cable the homegroup becomes unavailable and cannot be joined again.
Yet this netbook can use other network services and in particular the internet with either the onboard wifi or with the ethernet card.

The homegroup troubleshooter didn't help and I cannotsee  any network configuration that would be different between both interfaces (both have ipv4 and ipv6 enabled).

The problem persists even when the software firewall is off on both computers.

Is there something specific to windows 7 homegroups over wifi ?

No Screen Recording Software Works On Win7
I cannot find any high quality Screen Recording software that will work on Win 7.

Camtasia Studio 6 installs fine and I have tried ALL compatibilty settings, still NO GO.

ADOBE Captivate 4 will not work either.

I have tried several others, all with the same results.

Outside of me posting 100 different error messages does anyone have a clue where I should start with this problem?

I have been a beta tester for MS since 1992 and this issue has confounded me more than anything I have encountered.

BTW I run an AMD Phenom-X4, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 9800 GT, 4GB ReadyBoost and have DivX and all other CODECS freshly updated.

Dialup VPN Works In XP But Not In Win7 - Error 734
I am able to connect via dialup VPN on my XP laptop, which is sitting next to my new Windows 7 laptop.

I know I have the correct password, as I can get in on the XP machine.

I've matched as many parms as possible between the XP machine and the Windows 7 machine.

I've spent 20+ hours searching the web for a solution.

Under Options, I have tried checking/unchecking Include Windows Log On Domain (it is checked on the XP machine).

Under PPP settings, negotiate multilink is unchecked.

Under Security, Data Encrytpion I have tried NO and Optional (XP is set to optional).

Under Allow These Protocols, I have tried every combination of PAP, CHAP, and CHAP2 (6 different ways of having boxes checked and unchecked)

The connection attempt failed on port: COM3 because of the authentication protocol selected. Check to see if the authentication protocol is supported in the operating systems at the client and server ends of the connection
At this point I am at a loss. PLEASE, can some offer more suggestions?

Wireless Usb/pci Adapter That Works With 64 Bit Win7
I've just built a new core-i7 system running Win7 64 bit, but none of my existing wireless adapters are able to get a working internet connection. I have an Airlink wirelessN, Dlink wireless g, and an Encore PCI card. None of it worked, and after some Googling, I found that this is a widespread problem - many of these devices simply do not work in Windows 7 64 bit.

I have no clue if this is a drivers problem that simply will take some time for manufacturers to address. But Windows 7 beta has already been out for a while, so this is discouraging.

Are there any existing known reliable wireless adapters (specific models) that work with Windows 7 64 bit? I'm desperate to find one that works, preferably something I can get at a store (Frys or Best Buy) so I can test it immediately.

ATI Card For Win7
I can't decide which to go with, so I'm looking for suggestions

Only requirements: native HDMI out, since this will be a HTPC/mid gaming rig, also, keep it under $150 maybe?

Thoughts?

I'd like Direct X 11, but all the cards that do are only 128-bit..

TV Tuner Card For Win7
I find lots and lots of comments about troubble with tv cards and I have some issues with my own ( some AV TV noname tvcard ) that clearly states on the box that it only works with XP and not Vista. Well actually I got it to work at 50% ( tuner is dead but it works via composite cable only as it doesn't use the tuner) .

My question is: What TVtuner cards out there will work with Windows 7 without any hassle at all, ie installs like a charm and make all happy?

My question is, is there a PCI sound-card that actually works with windows 7 Home? This mother board has no on-board audio. Apparently Creative screwed the pooch on this one, again! any suggestions.

What Sound Card Will Work With Win7 64?
Ok, so I have that problem with the Creative cards where it doesn't play nice with my Nvidia chipset and Win 7 64. Horrible sound when it works at all, clicks and pops and crackles. But most of the time it doesn't work at all.

The sound card in question is the X-fi Platinum I believe, and my mobo is an Asus A8N Deluxe.

I have been totally unable to find any information on decent sound cards that WILL work given my equipment. I would like to find something that provides rich sound similar to the X-fi Platinum. It was great while it lasted. Now I can't even get the crappy onboard sound to work!

Win7 Will Not Install My 9400GT Video Card
I am having A "HUGE" Issue I just installed Windows 7 32bit Ultimate. It installed the window VGA drivers and seems to not even see my Nvidia 9400GT 1GIG card. I down loaded "191.07 WHQL" and "nv19045_Win7Vista32" right from Nvidia,  It said "The Nvidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.

Setup will now exit" on a nvidia set up window. This happened with both sets of drivers advised from Nvidia Same issue each time. I have tried installing with the card in then reinstalled windows without the card in and restarted put the card in and the drivers bump'd right in and hide my card? Any help?????

Is Hd Video Card 4650 Compatible With Win7?
I installed a Radeon ATI XFX HD 4650 PCI, 2DDR, 1gig, video card into my vista desktop 3 months ago, and it worked perfectly. I only needed it to run 2 mintors a dvi and a vga. Yesterday I attempted to install Windows 7 and both screens went black. The device manager was unable to locate any video cards at all (the original had been removed).

I called Dell, and they told me that the card was not recognized, and therefore not compatible with "7". Then I called Radeon, and they said it was definitely compatible. The bottom line is I had to do a system restore to get back to Vista where all worked well again. i really need "7".

Win7 Freeze When It Uses Accelerated Video Card Drivers
I would like to try and resolve a problem that I have found on Windows 7 BETA Build 7000!The issue is that when I have installed my Video Card Drivers (Which are accelerated Video Card Drivers) and then I come to run applications and games that use the accelerated Direct3D Support from the drivers the whole system locks up when i run the application it just goes dead like for example if I run Solitaire then it will lockup and also running other software like for Example Windows Live Messenger 2009 that too locks up the system.

so I have to power off the machine by holding in the power button until it turns off and then reboot and its fine unless like live Messenger it starts automatically at startup(or any other program that starts at startup) then the system will lockup then as well at startup when it tries to run live messenger! Please Help me!It would could is microsoft could come up with a fix for this issue as I know it cannot be the drivers as they work perfectly well in XP and Vista!

Win7 Can't See RT2400 Wireless LAN Card
I'm trying out Windows 7 RC (build 7100) 64 bit and i have problems with my lan card. When I was using Windows 7 beta (build 7000) 32 bit I never encountered such a problem. Windows simply doesn't see this card. Without it I can't connect to the Internet thus simply makeing whole Win7 useless. Drivers are pretty old (2003-10-08) but, as I mentioned, worked propertly on build 7000. What might be wrong? My specs: Pentium Q8200, P5KPL/1600, GTX 260.

I see a memeber called torrentg had posted a modified .inf file but the download limit has been reached. Is there any chance of posting again? Or perhaps positing its contents into the replay.

Low Data Rate Error Message In Win7 32 And 64 Using ANY Tuner Card
I'm another user of 7 who is trying to make a multimedia 'puter- I bought the latest, greatest Avermedia tuner- the Avermedia Volar MAX- and get constant "Low Data Rate" errors- about every 10 minutes- the sound plays, but the video bluescreens (displaying the error message)- WTF- I'm using the Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H (NVidia 9400) with a Intel E8400 dual-core, 8Gb RAM, SATA II HD and DVD.

The ONLY thing on the USB buss is the mouse, and the Volar MAX is a USB device- but, I notice that even others using different interfaces are having this problem, too. I guess Microsoft is too busy setting pricing and monitoring their profits to fix this problem- after all, who cares if MCE works or not...'cept ME!

Another concern is that when I use the MCE to capture NTSC composite input from my video camera- I CANNOT RECORD! It kinda defeats the purpose of having the composite input, don'tcha think? Also- the NEW version of Movie Maker will not capture live video (the old version does). Soooooo- how in gods green earth am I supposed to produce videos using 7? This is kinda a big issue, don't ou think, Microsoft?
