Super Bar Keeps On Flashing

Sometimes I don't know how this happens but when I visit certain site or browse though them my superbar keeps on flashing. So does the top part of the browser or window where the title is stated. Does anyone know why this happens?

Computer Is Being Super Laggy
OK, so my computer had a complete meltdown the other day... right after Windows 7 failed to boot, my Linux started having kernel panics and freezing every 5 minutes... so I backed up the Windows partition's files, and wiped the drive (By wiped I mean I deleted the partition, I didn't use a "disk wiping" tool)

Well Linux reinstalled perfectly fine, so I figured it wasn't a hardware failure like I thought it could be... I even used the memtest feature for several hours and it all came back fine.

Well, I reinstalled Windows 7 not once, not twice, but THREE times. The first time, I put all my Windows files back right away (including the Windows folder), but it still had the brand-new look and not my old settings so I wiped it. The second time, literally 5 minutes after I installed it, Windows Update froze up right after installing my Wi-Fi drivers and locked up the entire computer... and after force-rebooting it it became super-sluggish like it was before I reinstalled it (like when I posted on here last time)

This most recent time it worked correctly, but it still doesn't seem to be as fast as when I first installed it. If I plug in my external hard drive with the Windows files, it seems to lock EVEYRTHING up... almost as if my old Windows partition was cursed or something. I deleted the "Windows" folder from it so there was nothing possibly corrupted there, but it still doesn't seem to be perfect.

Well, even with it unplugged, it's frozen up several times now. I only had maybe 3 programs running at once... it's not like I was overloading the computer. I just tried installing Paint.NET and it completely froze my computer twice and now the installer simply won't run. What's even weirder is I did a "chkdsk" from a command prompt, and while it found nothing wrong with my disc, it stopped around 65% and sat there for several minutes. Same as before I wiped out my drive.

I tried sfc /scannow and it terminated at 14%, saying the service couldn't complete...

I might try that again in safe mode, but still, something is still messed up with Windows. Does anybody have any ideas? I mean, would it be likely there's some bad sectors on my drive that Windows can't find? Would defragmenting help? I guess I just don't understand what's going on... I've wiped the drive a few times now and it's still not working perfectly.

Screen Goes Super Bright
this is going to be really hard to explain, but im going to try my best to describe what is going on. I guess the best way to explain it is to show you a screen. Now this is from my laptop, and I altered it to show whats going on. I know its Vista, but im just trying to show whats going on with the other computer.

I had to revert back to an old video driver to make it work. If I could get any help, that would be great, because this kinda sucks and makes it very unuseable

Super Anti-Spyware Blue Screens
Super Anti-Spyware has blue screened Windows 7 twice.  Every time it gets to the part (near the end of installation, ACTUALLY Setup) where you select your language.  English is default which is what I want, and went I click OK, I get the blue screen every time as soon as I click OK.

Is this a problem with 7?  Or, is Super Anti-Spyware not ready for 7?

Samsung Super Writemaster Won't Work
My original LG DVD optical drive stopped working ( Windows & Pro 64 bit ) after 3 months.

The replacement LG drive I bought wouldn't install, Windows tried but announced that installation had failed. Very helpful.

I contacted LG only to be told it was not compatible with Windows & so I bought a Samsung Super Writemaster SH-S223.

Lo and behold I get the same message and no drive.

Any anyone had similar problems ?

Problems With NVidia Drivers For Zotac GeForce 9400 GT Super 512 Mb
I have problems with nVidia drivers while playing. My video adapter is Zotac GeForce 9400 GT Super 512 mb. I have a Driver Installation CD with 182.06 video driver and an overclocking utility - Zotac FireStorm (R).

I`ve installed them both and overclocked my video adapter to max settings. While playing my favorite games (Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Fallout 3) video driver have crashed with a system message saying something like this: "Your nVidia 182.06 video core driver have crashed and succesfully restarted".

Then I`ve uninstalled this driver and overclocking utility. After this I`ve downloaded and installed driver v. 192, but the situation was the same. Before installing Windows 7 I was using Windows Vista and it wasn`t any problems with video drivers at all. But Zotac FireStorm didn`t work too (I don`t know why!?). I think that problem is in my video card which can be uncompatible with Windows 7. How can I solve this problem?

Flashing The Bios
i never flashed bios before and have recently noticed there is an update on the Acer web site. The bios mine is running on at the minute is R01-B3 and the new one is R01-B4.

Is it worth updating to the new one?

Will Win 7 take to it?

What will be the benefits of the newly released bios over the one I have?

How do I go about doing it and are there any safety precautions I could take so I can roll back incase I F it up?

Screen Flashing
I'm currently running a GeForce 7900 GT/GTO card that I've never had problems with. I updated the drivers for Windows 7 from NVIDIA's site.

However, whenever I go to switch display settings, open a video, open a picture, or just about anything else graphically intense (including start-up) my screen freaks out. The screen will go a solid color (of whatever the background is), get lines through it, and then start flashing. Then after 10-20 seconds (or whenever the program I was trying to run is finished) it will revert back to normal.

I can run Aero just fine. I can run normal programs such as the internet browser, control panel, etc. fine as well. It's just whenever I try changing my display settings or running a video, opening a picture, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem? I've run GPU-Z and my card isn't overheating either I don't believe.

Flashing Windows
I am using Windows 7 RC 7100 x86 and im wondering if this is a known bug:

Randomly whichever my currently opened window is, it will disappear revealing whatever is behind it, just long enough to notice it.

I just reinstalled Windows 7 RC yesterday and installed all my programs yesterday as well so It would be hard to find the program causing the problems. (assuming its a program causing the problems)

Is this a common bug in RC? I have the latest RTM leak so I might just install that and hope it gets rid of the problems, but that's another days work so that's more of a last resort.

As for system restore, I would have no idea when to go back to. Any suggestions?

Flashing Taskbar
Has anyone noticed the flashing taskbar problem? I don't know how regularly it happens, but usually whilst browsing the internet with IE8 or Firefox 3 the taskbar suddenly flashes. When it stops flashing I'm left with blacked out pin-up icons as well as the time and notification area. It's a bit weird!

I'm guessing it's a gpu problem, either incompatibility or a code inconsistency between W7 and the Intel GMA965, but I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this.

Flashing Close Button
I found some of the "Close" button will be kept flashing when the mouse cursor is placed over it.

1) Device Manager > Double click on any hardware, to open its "Properties" > Move the cursor over the "Close" button of the properties dialog, the "Close" button will kept flashing...

2) Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services > Double click on any service, to open its "Properties" > Move the cursor over the "Close" button also.

I found this problem in 7000 and 7052 builds.

My entire screen seems to flicker/flash/reload the screen in an odd way periodically.  This happens sporadically, but occurs more frequently when adjusting certain settings like backup and when watching movies.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Any clues how to stop this behavior?  I'm running a clean install of win7 64 bit w/ 4 gig's of ram.

Stop Taskbar Items From Flashing
Is there any way to stop taskbar items from flashing yellow and begging for attention until I click on them? This is particularly with Live Messenger. I usually have Messenger and my browser side by side so I can see the conversation without switching Windows.

It is VERY distracting to have the icon constantly flashing everytime someone says something. The only way to stop it is to click on the messenger Window and click back! Who at MS thought this was a good idea??? There should at least be an option.

Dual Display And Desktop Flashing
Not sure of the proper place to log windows 7 bugs. If someone can let me know the best spot then I'll repost this there. Anyways here is my question / issue I'm having.

Windows 7 RC x64 with dual displays. Monitor 1 (Dell 24' LCD) Monitor 2 (Sharp LCD TV)
Monitor 2 is my television which is primarly used for running media center applications.

When working on monitor 1 if I have several application in the task bar, for instance IE and a single full application running on monitor 2, for insance media player. When I mouse over the IE icon I am presented with pop up showing the running instances and the live preview.

When I hover over the live preview, Monitor 1 correctly swaps to that application however Monitor 2 will show the desktop and not it's currently running application. As soon as I make my selection or mouse out Monitor 2 resumes it's running window normally. This is reproducable with any running app. The behaviour occurs as well if you reverse the order.

Minor issue however very annoying when trying to watch Movies / TV on monitor 1 (as I've been told by my wife)

Any tips or ways to have the second monitor not show the desktop?

Black Screen Flashing While Using Aero
when my windows 7 ultimate computer starts up, the screen flashes black, just for a second which is ok. But if i enable aero and use the aero effects then the computer screen flashes black for a second again, everytime i use any aero effect! e.g minimize, thumbnails, show desktop, open files.

I upgraded from windows vista.

my cousins also have windows 7 ultimate and they use the aero effects without any problems.
their computer has A NVIDA G-Force, but not sure about the model, although it will be quite new because they bought their computer a week ago.

is it because of my graphics card? i checked the windows 7 upgrade advisor and it said my graphics card is compatible.

my graphics card is :

VIA Chrome9 HC IGP Family WDDM, and i have a Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 @ 1.8Ghz(i've been meaning to overclock but my mobo's rubbish :$)

GeForce 6600GT AGP - Screen Flashing
Installed RC on an older system to try it. Guts are a Dell Optiplex GX270SMT (P4 2.4Ghz, 2Gb PC2700). Replaced the 210w power supply with a 500w, installed a XFX GeForce 6600GT 128mb AGP video card (which was working fine in another setup I had running Vista x64).

RC installed fine (had to find some drivers for the SB Live! sound card but that works now) but the video would blank out and come back every few seconds. Tried installing the nVidia 185.85 WHQL drivers, but still got the flashing. Wiped out the RC install, did a fresh clean install, still got the flashing with the driver in the RC. This time I ran the update driver function and it installed a pre-release driver dated 4-2-09. This stopped the flashing.

Then tried running Windows update as it showed there were some updates (non seemed to be hardware related though). After running the update process and rebooting the flashing returned. Uninstalled the updates and the flashing stopped. Then installed the TV software for my Compro VideoMate TV Gold+ card and the flashing returned. Uninstalled the software and the flashing stopped.

Is it just that the 6600GT isn't up to running Win 7? I may try the 7600GT 512mb AGP I had replaced the 6600GT with in the Vista x64 setup today to see if that works any better as I can get another one cheap.

Change The Flashing Notification Colour To Orange
When a window tries to notify you of something (such as an IM in live messenger) it flashes/turns orange in the start menu.

I have searched through all the settings but I cannot find a way to change this.

I am using a very nice orange color scheme with a desktop that is orange at the bottom, but I am struggling to see when I have a new IM. Do you know how to edit this colour?

Random Lines Flashing On The Monitor While Computer Is Loading
So I just upgraded my Windows XP laptop to Windows 7 and I thought that all was going well, and for the most part it was. That was until that I noticed that the display would have random horizontal lines a pixel thick start flickering (doesn't totally distort the display, it is just quite annoying. You can still see 99.9% of the display).

The horizontal lines only stay there for an instance. They only happen when the computer is loading various screen. I was wondering if anyone else have been having this problem. I made sure that the driver was up to date.

The only other thing that I could think of is that my graphics card is out of date, or that this RC version is not compatible with my graphics card.

AVG Update On 02/03/2009 Causing MediaCenter TV Screen Flashing
I have AVG V8 installed and has been working without any problems, on 02/03/2009 the auto update downloaded the latest AVG V8 source and required a reboot. All worked fine until I rebooted.
Now win7 seems OK until I launch MediaCenter and do live TV. I now see a flashing band about 1/4
of the bottom of the screen and sometimes the who screen goes Black for a couple of seconds at a time.

When I do a system restore point just prior to the reboot all is OK then after a reboot its broken again. Tonight I will back of the update and turn off auto update. My system is a HP M9300t Win7 32bit, this uses a Nvidia  graphics card.

Has anyone else seen this?
