Cannot Find Creative Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio Sound Card
My fairly new PC: Core2Quad Q6700 on ASUS P5K (Intel P35) with RealTek HD Audio chip, plus Creative Soundblaster Xtreme Audio internal sound card.

I've installed Windows 7RC on a new partition on my HD alongside Vista Ultimate. I've experienced no installation problem, but Win7RC does not recognize my SB sound card at all! So, I can't even update the driver!

It recognized the Realtek chip and my external USB mic, but not the sound card that had been installed for audio quality!!

To come to think of it, I've had the problem with Vista, with my Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro 10.1 not recognizing the "existence of any sound system" in an administrator account I used to install the software. However, the software recognizes all my audio systems in my other user account (admin) and the software runs smoothly!!

Any connection? What's the problem here? Anyone have any idea?

Edit: I also found that the stereo mix feature of the Realtek HD audio isn't recognized either. (Recognized in Vista and my old XP)

Creative Sound Blaster Problem After Rebooting
I've got a Creative SB LIVE! daughter card for my sound. it's a really nice card and more than good enough for my uses. It even works in 7. or rather, it worked in 7.

Then I rebooted the computer. Now I get "sound server not started" so I went into the "services" applet to start the Windows Audio service.. with an "error 1069: Server dependancies not started"

Now... upon searching, I can only find info for WinXP, and that is "Windows Management Instrumentation" in one case, and another said something about "Remote Procedure Call" for the error number... so I believe I can ssafely disregard that one (even though I tried it, never know )

I installed 7, I then used WinUpdate to get the MS driver, sound worked. I then rebooted the computer after installing nVidia drivers for gfx card, and sound is now gone bitty bye bye.... that's the shorter version of the actual events.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy LS Not Working
I've installed Windows 7 on my desktop with dual boot to Vista. Everything's been working fine but I haven't been able to properly setup my sound-card to function properly. As of now, I currently have no sound and I've been through many different drivers from the Creative website.

I've also tried running them in compatibility mode with Windows Vista and Windows XP SP3.

I am currently getting this error message under the "Device Status" In Device Manager, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".

Windows has been automatically installing the driver version 5.12.1.2004 dated June 13 2007.

Can anyone please help me with this issue? It is currently ruining my Windows 7 experience!

Creative Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit - No Subwoofer
My problem is that i don't get any bass out of my subwoofer, my system (as i configurate) recognizes my subwoofer, but as soon as i listen to music there's no sound coming out of it!

My other speakers work, but only the bass is missing!

I wanted to install the console launcher from CD, but in Setup windows said "couldn't find any compatible hardware. Setup will be closed"

But i do not find any latest console launcher in Creative technical support, that's compatible with my Live 24 bit soundcard.

I started this thread, because i couldn't contact any other user who's problem was solved .

Creative Sound Blaster Live Value Compatibility Problem
There is no Vista drivers for this soundcard, so I used the driver I got from Windows Update.

However, there is a lot of noise in the sound. I faced this problem in Vista too. It runs alright in XP.

Any idea how to fix the problem without getting a new soundcard?

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Issue
I'm running Windows 7 build 7600, and seem to have a sound card driver issue. Sound is successfully comming out, but it is screwed up, it fades in and out and has terrible quality (driver from clean install). I am using this sound card, have looked around the forum and have come across a post leading to this driver, unfortunately the download link is no longer working, and was posted several months ago, so maybe there is a newer driver available. Can anyone provide me with a link to the latest up-to-date driver for this sound card please?

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtrememusic SB0460 Problem
I installed Windows 7 professional 64 bit on a clean partition of my Win XP computer, as a dual boot configuration. Everything installed fine with the exception of the sound card. It is a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi xtrememusic, model SB0460.

In device manager it is listed as "Other Devices > Multimedia audio controller" instead of a sound card.

I downloaded and tried to install the latest 64 bit drivers from Creative, but it failed because it could not "find" the card.

Attempting to manually install a generic driver from device manager fails because Creative is not even on the list

of manufacturers.

When I ran Windows 7 upgrade advisor, it found no problems and indicated that the sound card was compatible.

It runs flawlessly in XP, so I am stumped as to a solution.

The initial response was this:

Shut down the PC, open the case the physically remove the card from its slot. Restart the PC. Leave it running a few minutes then shut it down again and replace the card. Restart the PC. Does Windows 7 now 'see' it?

I tried the suggested solution, but the result was the same. I even moved the card to another PCI slot, without success. Apparently, if the sound card does not show up under "Sound, Video and game controllers" in Device Manager, the Creative driver installer cannot "find" the device.

Any ideas?

Creative Sound Blaster X Fi - No Rear Speakers In WMP And Zune
I installed Windows 7 beta and unfortunately I have lost my rear speakers in 5.1.

I have tried everything including older and new drivers but everything I do does not restore my rear speakers. I have a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi sound card. I am running Dell XPS 630i with Quad Core, 4GB RAM, dual SLI Nvidia 9800 GT each with 512MB.

I also had problems with Call of Duty4 World at War which would freeze on a black screen and I would have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to close it. I eventually got it to work after trying various installs of SB X-Fi drivers but when I did get it to work after 2 min it crashed the whole OS with no access to CTRL-ALT-DEL so I had to manually power down and restart.

I tried installing COD4 and SB X-Fi in Compatibility mode (Vista) and it didn't make any differences. Very frustrating as Audigy Sound Card drivers were my single and only problem with Vista.

This has already seen me move back to Vista SP1 as I cannot experience proper 5.1 sound with my Zune application or WMP.

I setup as dual boot which made it easier to move back to Vista but the point is I want to use Windows 7 beta for everything day to day.

Sound Blaster Audigy PCI Card Sound Problem
I installed windows 7 home premium today on my computer on a dedicated hard disk. All went fine and did windows updates to all my driver issues. At this point I had sound. I then installed ubuntu 9.10 on a separate physical disk without issue. Ubuntu installed a boot loader (Grub) which recognised windows 7 and I could boot into both OSes (dual boot), both working happily (including sound).

I then installed some apps in ubuntu (incl. wine) and now when I boot into windows 7, I don't have any sound. The sound icon is happy, the device manager is happy. I haven't touched the windows disk or installation, yet the sound doesn't work. The sound hardware is a Sound Blaster Audigy PCI card.

This doesn't make sense surely. Any ideas?
