Sound Blaster Audigy PCI Card Sound Problem
I installed windows 7 home premium today on my computer on a dedicated hard disk. All went fine and did windows updates to all my driver issues. At this point I had sound. I then installed ubuntu 9.10 on a separate physical disk without issue. Ubuntu installed a boot loader (Grub) which recognised windows 7 and I could boot into both OSes (dual boot), both working happily (including sound).
I then installed some apps in ubuntu (incl. wine) and now when I boot into windows 7, I don't have any sound. The sound icon is happy, the device manager is happy. I haven't touched the windows disk or installation, yet the sound doesn't work. The sound hardware is a Sound Blaster Audigy PCI card.
This doesn't make sense surely. Any ideas?

Cannot Find Creative Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio Sound Card
My fairly new PC: Core2Quad Q6700 on ASUS P5K (Intel P35) with RealTek HD Audio chip, plus Creative Soundblaster Xtreme Audio internal sound card. I've installed Windows 7RC on a new partition on my HD alongside Vista Ultimate. I've experienced no installation problem, but Win7RC does not recognize my SB sound card at all! So, I can't even update the driver! It recognized the Realtek chip and my external USB mic, but not the sound card that had been installed for audio quality!! To come to think of it, I've had the problem with Vista, with my Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro 10.1 not recognizing the "existence of any sound system" in an administrator account I used to install the software. However, the software recognizes all my audio systems in my other user account (admin) and the software runs smoothly!! Any connection? What's the problem here? Anyone have any idea? Edit: I also found that the stereo mix feature of the Realtek HD audio isn't recognized either. (Recognized in Vista and my old XP)

Sound Blaster Audigy Giving Errors
I cleaned the dust from the comp & since then I am getting this error, sound is only working on front 2 speakers. i ensured the card is properly installed, which it is. Last 4 months its been working fine with 4.1 speakers. Now I cant start the EAX control setting. I uninstalled the card & drivers & cleaned the registry then reinstalled the drivers from CD. On installation of the drivers & sound it detects by old speakers as stereo only but all 4 speakers give sound which is too bad, I can now use the EAX control settings . then I run the windows update it download a creative driver which when installed does show me 4.1 speakers but now the EAX control panel wont open & gives error. "the audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit" any clue what went wrong & how can I get this working?

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Drivers Problem
my sound card is the SB audigy 2. Back in XP the drivers usually worked fine and produced the right 'loudness' of sound. It seems in windows 7 to only produce sound at the 40%-60% levels compared to XP. i know this for a fact since i've done testing. So people told me to downland the daniel k drivers (SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.6 (11/09/2009) - Creative Labs) New problem: These drivers worked and fixed the problem however after i restart it goes back to the 40%-60% sound levels. What is happening is it rolling back the driver or what and how do I fix it? More info: I run the installer and it asks me to restart to uninstall the old drivers I do that. Then when the computer reboots I re run the installer and the drivers install. Now my sound works perfectly however when I restart the next time it's back to the problem. any ideas?

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy LS Not Working
I've installed Windows 7 on my desktop with dual boot to Vista. Everything's been working fine but I haven't been able to properly setup my sound-card to function properly. As of now, I currently have no sound and I've been through many different drivers from the Creative website. I've also tried running them in compatibility mode with Windows Vista and Windows XP SP3. I am currently getting this error message under the "Device Status" In Device Manager, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". Windows has been automatically installing the driver version 5.12.1.2004 dated June 13 2007. Can anyone please help me with this issue? It is currently ruining my Windows 7 experience!

Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound Card Compatibility
I just bought a new pc from Dell. I opted out of buying the SB sound card they had as an option and now I am sorta regretting that. I loaded RC 7100 as soon as I got the machine and after going through this forum I am sorta left with the impression that SB cards don't work with Win 7. Is that really the case? I was looking at an "Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound Card" but if it will just cause me grief it's not worth it. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can get and not pull my hair out trying to get it to work? The main game I play sounds sorta mediocre with the on-board sound.

Attempts To Start Sound Blaster Audigy Value Causes Bluescreen
During the upgrading process from Window Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 build 7000, any attempts to start the sound card results in a blue screen (stop 0x00000131). After removing the sound card, the upgrade process went smoothly. After Windows 7 boots up successfully, I shut it down and installed the sound card again. Windows 7 detected the card and installed the drivers, but blue screens again when trying to start it. When I look the device up in device manager, I see that the drivers are dated 2007 from Creative, which can't be right. I presume that Windows 7 is attempting to use the old Vista drivers that was installed prior to the upgrade. Does Windows 7 have the latest drivers for Audigy? Are Vista's drivers suppose to work in Windows 7? How do I remove the old drivers and let Windows update install the latest drivers?

Sound Blaster Audigy Audio Driver Problems
i'm running windows 7 ultimate, and recently i had an odd problem. I've been having some issues with a few games, so i went to upgrade my sound blaster audigy drivers to a newer version, and it looked like they upgraded fine, except the volume tray icon says that there's no audio output device installed. But if you actually right click and go to playback devices, the sound card is there, but the last tab in the properties of the outputs is blank where usually it has some options. Device manager shows no conflicts, if i run the troubleshooter from the tray icon it says either the windows audio or windows audio endpoint builder services arent running. I checked and they are both started and on automatic. I've tried reinstalling these drivers, removing all creative software and reinstalling the drivers, installing the drivers straight from windows update, and also tried two other versions of the drivers from creative's site, one of which was the version i had that was previously working. They all exhibit the exact same problem as described above. I am running all non optional updates, and have fully updated device drivers. Any thoughts as to what i should do next?Â

Dell Dimension 4700 With Sound Blaster Audigy 1
I've been trying to get my SoundBlaster Audigy http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx?nDriverType=11#type_11 to work for a few days now. But everything I tried so far has failed. I've tried to installed the Vista Driver, the XP driver, the beta driver found here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprohardware/thread/646164a0-94d6-42a6-8c28-313dc73c7994 but none has worked. I've already disable the onboard sound card so it wouldn't interfere. Despite the various driver tried, none of the control panel will allow me to do anything, saying the no audio out device has been detected or something to that effect. In the device manage, Windows was able to see it a SB Audigy, and recognize that there a problem with the sound card. But non of thier tools were able to fix it. It's said "The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". No matter what I do, nothing in the Sound option would allow me to really do anything I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32x a couple of days and everything except the sound worked fine. Prior to that I had Vista installed and the sound was working fine then. I have a dell dimension 4700, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM. I can't think of anything else that might me relevant but if more info is needed by ask. Thanks in advance for the help...I'm getting extremely frustrate with this problem. On a similar note, if I cannot get teh Audigy working, I would like to get the onboard sound card to work (soundmax integrated digital audio) but like above, none of the control panel work no matter what I do.

No Sound With Audigy 2 Sound Card
This is probably just a stop gap but I was finally able to get my old Creative Audigy 2 card to work with 5.1 surround by using Audigy 4 drivers for Windows 7. I haven't been able to adjust bass and treble yet but I've been too busy just enjoying the music to get around to looking for ways to make that happen. Music sounds better than it ever did in XP or Vista! It may not be a complete fix but at least it'll get you some sound until they come up with driver for those of us with older sound cards. Be patient as it takes a while for the complete install!

Audigy 2 Zs Sound Card Problem
I'm using an audigy 2 zs, just updated the sound card by downloading from creativelab. I have a problem with the card in windows 7 though: I like to get the treble all the way up, and the bass up a bit, it makes things sound alot nicer. But, everytime I do this, the voices of characters when I watch DVDs or play video games become really low, everything else sounds great though, its just dialogue between characters thats just so low you have to put your ear right next to the speakers to hear them or something, then music from the background is blasting loudly in my ear...the treble and bass setting never gets properly saved also, everything I restart the computer, they get reset. anyone else experiencing the same problem? It was like this in the beta for me also...

Installation went fine for everything other then the fact that I have no Audio. I tried to download the driver for my audio card for Windows XP/Vista and when I try to install I get an error that I must use an OS newer then Windows XP. It also did not like my drive for my much beloved Monster HP 5si printer. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. I really want to try the new OS as I really did not care for Vista so I am still using Windows XP on my Dual boot.

PCI Sound Card For Win7

After initial boot I have Internet, install XFI gamer and it kills my network card!? so now I have figured it is the sound-card drivers. My question is, is there a PCI sound-card that actually works with windows 7 Home? This mother board has no on-board audio. Apparently Creative screwed the pooch on this one, again! any suggestions.

Terratec 6fire PCI Sound Card Driver Problem
I installed a fresh version of Windows 7 and wanted to continue using my Terratec DMX 6fire LT. The latest driver I got was the WDM 5.40 for XP. I installed it under Win7 and I can play back sound. But I am afraid the sound quality is degraded. When I display the driver properties in the device manager, the sound settings are greyed out on 32 bit 48 kHz. When playing back material from audio cd (which should be 16 bit 44 kHz) the internal master clock in the control panel of my sound card immediately jumps from 44 to 48 kHz. I suppose everything I play back becomes resampled! How can I change the way Win 7 accesses the sound card?

FPS Drop Because Of Sound Card / Sound Card Drivers
I've recently upgraded my os to windows 7, and noticed a significant fps drop in all games I've installed. The problem seems to come from the sound card. I've disabled it in device manager and I gained a steady 15-20 more in most of the applications. Any idea what to do? Is it a driver issue or something? I got an Athlon 64x2 4600+, Asus M2N mainboard, 2 gigs of ram, Gainward 8800GS video card, Sound Blaster Live 24bit soundcard. Drivers are downloaded from creative.

Creative Audigy 2 Sound Issues
While playing a game, listening to music, talking on ventrilo my audio starts getting distorted. The best description I can think of is it sounds like a metallic freaky sound. It last for a minute or so and then it starts to clear up and returns to normal. This happens a couple times per day and appears to be more prevalent when using multiple apps. I have uninstalled and installed the lastest creative drivers as well as trying Daniel K's driver. I also have reverted to the windows default driver. They all do the same thing. Windows gives me a message saying that the driver is experiencing problems and it asks me if I want to disable it. I do not have any issues with the onbard audio when I enable it. I prefer to get the soundlblaster working properly since the sound is alot better IMO when it works.
