Software Installation Problem: Internal Error 2738
I was trying to install a software package on Win 7 RC1 x64 (all updates), but I always get an "internal error 2738". I tried several compatibility settings (Vista, XP SP2, Vista SP1) with no luck. I found some hints to register VBScript.DLL ( regsvr32 VBScript.DLL in system32 with admin privileges) but this doesn't help.
Any further suggestions?

Installation Failed When Internal Card Reader Was Connected To USB Connector
I tried to install Windows 7 on a computer where the internal card reader was connected to the USB connector on the MB. This lead to an error message like "Windows could not terminate the system configuration..... please reboot. This message came up after each new reboot. Even boot in safe mode didn't change anything. I deleted the HDD completely and disconnected the card reader and restarted the installation. Then it worked fine. The problem came probably from the drive letter. The 2 DVD drives were now D: and E:. At the first installation D: to G: was taken by the card reader and the DVD drives got I: and J:Maybe this information will help others with the same problem.

Failed To Retrieve EpgListings (Error: Internal Server Error
I recieve the above error message repeatedly using both Win 7 x32 and x64 installations for a while now. It was working initially and stopped updating recently. How often should this happen? How long should it persist? The error message is misleading: How do I contact the service provider? I'm trying to get the listings for OTA television in the Chicago, IL area.

Internal Error 0x80070057 (Backup Win7)
I am running windows 7 professional (final release) just downloaded from msdn-aa of my university. First thing I checked was the backup feature, since I was really unsatisfied with vista's one. I did a backup, choosing those few folders I needed to backup and run it.The process halted before completion and gave me this error:"An internal error has occurred:The parameter is incorrect: (0x80070057)"Now, every time I try to use the backup feature (by clicking on start -> all programs -> maintenance -> Backup and restore) I immediately see this error window, and I can't do anything. I can neither backup, neither restore.I have 2 hds on my machine. Fist one is a 750 Gb one, divided in 2 partitions C and D (400Gb and 350Gb) and the second one is a 300Gb hd with letter E in a single partition. I also have a virtual drive (by magic disk).

Installation Error: Setup Cannot Continue Due To A Corrupted Installation File
I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation: "Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance." Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted? I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.

Error: Restart The Installation
i stuck in a loop trying to install Win 7 Ultimate over Win Vista Ultimate, both 64bit.Win 7 install fails almost at end with error message "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation." When I restart I have two boot options: Win 7 or setup.Selecting Win 7 takes me back to same error msg.Setup takes me to an Administrator:CMD.EXE box with this msg: "This environment should only be used to recover from a failed installation. Type EXIT and press Enter to resume installation." Typing EXIT simply restarts the computer and I'm back to the two boot options. How do I get out of this loop or use the CMD.EXE box to recover from the failed installation.

Installation Error Recovery
I'm getting a very strange installation issue. I was hoping someone could shed some light on my problem. To start with, I'm using a Windows 7 v7000 installer disk. I'm confident that this installer is good, because I've already set up my gaming machine with it. Now I want to install Windows 7 on my home theater PC. The components are as follows: ASUS P5N-EM HDMI Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz Western Digital HD 2 GB of Ram I am able to install windows Vista on this machine with out a problem. This is what happens when I attempt to install windows 7: Everything appears to load off of the DVD drive. I go through "Copying Files," "Expanding Files," "Installing Features," and "installing Updates." Then the machine reboots. The installer continues to behave as expected, with "setup is updating registry settings." Then it reboots again. This is where the Sh*t hits the fan... After the reboot, it takes me into a black screen "Windows Error Recovery." If I ask the machine to start up normal, it immediately reboots again, returning to another "Windows Error Recovery" screen. It will repeat this cycle forever. If I ask it to start in Safe Mode, then I get the following error message: "Windows cannon complete installation in safe mode. To continue installing windows restart the computer." I'm at a loss. I even downloaded build 7022, and the problem still persists.

Error Free Installation
Installing Windows 7 Beta went through rapidly with no errors. Faster to install than XP Pro or Vista with a better overall runtime environment. a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Why couldn't previous versions have been this easy? The only misgivings I have with Windows 7 is the need to upgrade video / graphics card to one that is not, yet, widely available in order to enjoy all features of the OS.
