Scanner Compaq S200 - Can't Use It With New Windows 7 Computer

Recently my disk drive has been playing only audio cds and not dvds or game cds. I have used my disk drive cleaner ers are all updated and my devices are working properly. When I place a dvd or game cd in it, it makes the dreaded clicking sounds, then stops, then says "insert a disk in drive F." My computer has two devices:

Windows 7 Update Causes Computer To Not Find Scanner

after a recent Windows 7 update all of a sudden my notebook cannot find my scanner. it prints fine thru same machine, but will not recognize scan function - says WAI driver missing. I never deleted any drivers. I have fixed it with a system restore, but it coninually updates and sys rest is extreme remedy that causes other problems.

Compaq C712nr Computer Graphics Card

Just wondering if anyone has updated their Compaq C712nr computer to Windows 7. It came with the 32 bit Windows Vista in it and I upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate. The problem I hve is with the graphics card. I can see things OK and there is color, however everything seems to be "generic". I cannot customize/personalize the color schemesor anything like that. I know that when I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor, it did single out the graphics card as "not compatible". If so did you find some driver for the graphics card that would enable you to "work around" this problem and give you the full range of graphics/colors as you would normally have? I have tried downloading a new driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 but it seemed to do nothing. It all worked fine with the old Vista 32 bit system.

a few months ago at Christmas I got a new Windows 7 Compaq Laptop. It ran well, and I mainly used it for the internet; however a few days ago I tried to insert a Blank Disc in the drive so I could burn a home-video onto it. However the computer didn't read it. Nothing happened. I went into my Computer and it wasn't there. So I reinserted the blank disc into my mother's computer, which is an XP Computer, and it worked fine. Baffled, I thought nothing of it until today, when I tried to insert a PC game I brought. The computer started up, as though it was going to run - then nothing happened. I went back into My Computer, and no DVD/CD Drive showed up, no autorun...it didn't read the disc.
