Samsung CLX-3160FN Will Not Print

Samsung CLX-3160FN will not print landscape with Office 2010, worked fine with Office 2007. My printer goes into landscape, but reverts when you proceed with next step to printing.  I now cannot print envelopes or any Excel documents that require the landscape position.

Not Able To Print Emails By Pressing Ctrl P Or The Print Button
I am not able to print emails by pressing ctrl_P or the print button, displays message about not being able to run scripts on this page. Is this as easy as just changing a setting somewhere or is it a problem with a driver? Have tried with another printer but the same message appears and both drivers were installed correctly. Canalso print any other document without a worry on either printer.

How To Print ?
There was a similar question here, but the solution didn't work for my particular situation. Both my computer and the family computer connect to a router to the internet. The family computer has the printer attached to it, and is running Windows XP Pro. My computer was running XP pro and was networked with it so I could print. Now with 7, I can't figure out how to print.

I've gone control panel -> System and Security -> System -> Change Settings -> then changed the workgroup name to MSHOME (my XP network). I just can't find a way to view the family computer, let alone print through it.

Screen Print
Is there a way (and has windows 7 done it) to make the print-screen button to make a .JPG in a specific folder or any folder for that matter. so if you were to take 100 print-screens they would number off in a folder and be 100 files not the latest print-screen on the clipboard.

Unable To Print From Screen
I am an avide genealogist and use Ancestry and Find my Past as research sites, I have been using these sites for a number of years and been able to print from these sites certificates etc that I have found in my research. Of late I have experienced an anoying problem in that I cannot print these any more from the screen shot, if I save the screen as a file to a folder I am able to open the files and print from the file.

I know that both these sites use Djview as a viewer for viewing the files from their sites, but if I can view them surely I should be able to print.

HP J4680 Print Issue
I have a Compaq Laptop and a Compaq desktop both running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. The desktop is connected to a Linksys WRT160Nv2 and the laptop connects wirelessly. The J4680 is also connected to the network wirelessly. I can print from the laptop just fine, but if I try to print from the desktop the print job will go into the queue and then disappear immediately.

If I turn the printer off and try to print , the print job stays in the queue until I turn the printer back on and then disappears immediately. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device several times using the Windows generic driver as well as the HP driver in Vista compatibility mode to no avail. I have also tried connecting the printer via USB and letting it auto-install, no different. The scanner, however, does work.

HP 990Cse Printer Cannot Print
I'm running Windows 7 x64 (build 7100).

Windows detected and installed the built-in driver for my HP 990Cse printer which is attached via a USB port.  The specific driver name is "HP deskjet 990c".

I can print a test page from the printer properties dialog, but I am unable to print from within applications.  I've tried printing from Word, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Notepad.  All programs display an error dialog along the lines of "An error occurred when attempting to print".  I am able to load the printer settings dialog from within these applications, but when I do the mouse cursor changes to busy for 5-10 seconds before I can do anything with the dialog.

I have removed and reinstalled the printer, powered it off and back on, disconnected and reconnected the USB cable.  I've tried searching for a different driver using Windows Update.  The HP Deskjet 990c driver is not listed as a printer in the drivers from Windows Update.  HP does not provide a downloadable driver for the printer as it's built-in to Vista, so there doesn't appear to be anything else I can install.  The printer works fine in Vista x32 SP1.

Any suggestions on how I can get my printer working?

Print Problem On Linux
I was messing around re-arranging hardware. Since I rarely if ever TOUCH my Linux server I decided to connect 2 printers to it rather than a Windows box - I've been messing around with all sorts of hardware and software mods lately on Windows 7 to get the optimum mix.

So Printers are now on Linux server. Samba works 100% OK etc.

Now XP SP3 / XP 64 bit edition prints just fine from the Linux box.

Print of course works just fine on Native Linux server.

Windows 7 RTM x-64 just won't print -- gives all the correct indications - can even see print preview but nothing ever gets sent to the Linux queue. For BOTH printers.

I reverted back to RC version (only takes 10 - 15 mins to restore with decent imaging package like Acronis / Ghost etc).

Worked a treat.

Windows 7 RTM x-86 works as well but X-64 just vanishes in cyberspace accross the network somewhere.

Incidentally printers work natively on Windows 7 RTM x-64 so not a driver problem per se.

Any idea of where to look -- not sure if this is a SAMBA (3.05) or Windows problem. I'm running SUSE 11.1 64 bit version. - normally has no probs with networking whatsoever.

XP works (even a VM XP running on a Windows 7 X-64 host) - but it's a bit stupid to fire up a VM whenever I need to print.

(We have other computers users in the house sharing printers - but they still are on XP for the moment. I need to get this issue fixed before upgrading their machines).

Print Out A Log Of Each Backup
I'm trying to manage the backups I've made. It seems Windows 7 only labels them by date. I'd like to know what's in each backup, and print out a log of each backup like I could with XP. Just knowing what date the backup was made isn't enough.

Print Context Menu
I've developed an application that makes use of the context menu in the printers folder (when a user right clicks on a specific printer some new commands are added in the context menu).

It works well on Vista and other Windows versions, but on Windows 7, build 7100 the new menu options do not appear in the context menu.

In order to register the dll I've developed into the system I used a rgs file, which adds entries in the registry for the following:

1) in HKCR my extension dll class information;
2) in HKCR, CLSID the path to the module (dll) and it's threading model;
3) in HKCR, Printers, Shellex, ContextMenuHandlers the class.

Is there something else I should add to the registry to make the options appear?

Unable To Print From Networked Computers
I have two printers hooked up to my main PC; an HP LaserJet 1020 and an Epson Stylus Photo R340, both hooked up to USB ports.  Both work fine when printing from my computer but if others in the HomeGroup try to print to the HP, it just sits in the queue. As soon as I reboot my machine, all of the queued items print fine. The Epson works great, even though the installed driver doesn't name the printer correctly.

I have tried different USB ports, reinstalling the Vista drivers, installing under Vista compatibility with admin rights. Still same thing. Running Windows 7 RC 64-bit. Everything worked great under Vista 64-bit.

Cannot Install A HP Laserjet 5L Using A Print Server
I want to intall a HP Laserjet 5L printer on my Windows 7 machine. However, the printer is not connected directly to the computer, but to a Sweex PR001 print server, so that the printer can be used via the network by several computers.

I installed the support software (Windows XP version only) for the Sweex PR001 print server and it works fine. I can do all the monitoring and control that comes with the print server. When checking the printer type, the print server indicates that a HP Laserjet 5L is connected to the print servers parallel port.

The print server software installed a new virtual printer port (NETPR01/P1) to be able to use the printer connected to the print server.

Now, if I want to install the printer, I select 'local printer' and use the virtual printer port that is provided by the print server software. When it comes to select the printer driver, there is none. When I use the windows update button, additional drivers appear, but no driver for the 5L.

As a test, I selected the driver of another HP printer that uses PCL5: the laserjet 3050. I am able to print a decent test page, but ofcourse, this is not a good solution.

When I look at the testpage printed from Windows XP I see this :

Driver name: UNIDRV.DLL
Data File: HPLJ5L.GDP
Config File: UNIDRVUI.DLL
Help File: UNIDRV.HLP
Driver Version: 5.00
When I look at the test page on Windows 7 using the Laserjet 3050 driver I read this:
Driver name: UNIDRV.DLL
Data File: HPC3050F.GDP
Config File: UNIDRVUI.DLL
Help File: UNIDRV.HLP
Driver Version: 6.00

Looks like the same driver, only in a newer version. Is there a way to use the XP driver in Windows 7? Or can I trick the system by taking the HPLJ5L.GDP from XP and put it into Windows 7?

HP C6350 Printer Installed, Will Not Print
I am trying to install a new hp c6350 printer, network. Have read your post about compatibility and have gone through that, using Windows Vista (have windows 7 beta installed on computer, was previously windows vista 64). Device installs, shows up, is detected on network, when you ask it to print, you can see the print job flash through the status window, but then just disappears.

Thought the compatibility method would solve it, but it does not. Incidentally, none of our printers show up in device manager, just show up under devices and printers option from start button.
