Samsung Blackjack 2 And Mobile Device
I have a Samsung i617 (Blackjack 2) and have tried to get it to sync. The device manager sees and installs the phone and places it under modems in the DM. When I installed the WMDC it did not see a device. Any suggestions. I have a clean load of windows 7 and have uninstalled and reinstalled wmdc.

Samsung BlackJack II Drivers Will Not Install Properly
Alright so, I just got a new computer yesterday and it just so happened to have Windows 7 64-Bit on it. I am a new user, that in a few days has switched from XP to 7. I own a Samsung BlackJack II, which I have done countless modifications to, and now, I cannot seem to sync it up, let alone, connect it to my computer. When I plug it in, via USB. It worked the first time, synced it and everything with Windows Mobile Device Center, but then when I unplugged and replugged it in, driver's were corrupt(obviously), and tried uninstalling it all, and then reinstalling them all, drivers and WMDC, and I get a little notification that informs me that the drivers were unsuccessfully installed. Which is no longer making any sense to me... At all! lol, so I was wandering could you guys help me out here? I'm new to Windows 7 and I hope that this Community, gives me a lot of insight, and information to get back on my feet.

Mobile Device Center Fails After Vista Upgrade
I have installed Windows 7 on 3 computers. One installation was a "clean install". It works fine. Two installations were upgrades from Vista. For both of these installations, any attempt to launch Windows Mobile Device Center yields a "Windows Mobile Device Center has stopped working" error message. Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions for a fix?

USB Connected Remote With Mobile Device Center Virtual Vista
My host OS is Windows 7 RC.I created a Windows Virtual PC install of Vista SP1.I enabled USB support within the virtual Vista SP1.A USB connected thumb drives shows up in both Windows 7 and virtual Vista SP1.When I connect my remote control via USB, it shows up under the USB menu as: Unidentified Device    AttachI select "attach" and the virtual Vista SP1 system tray shows the "safely remove hardware" icon. However, Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) never sees the remote (which is required for the remote software to access it). WMDC reports "Not Connected."The remote control I am using is a Nevo Q50 and I am trying to download updates to it via NevoStudio Pro 2.0. This works if I reboot into a non-virtualized Vista SP1...seems like I should be able to get this to work in a virtual Vista SP1 if the USB support is working.Am I missing something or is this a known bug?

Install Procedure Blocked By MIO PDA GPS Device (mobile Center)
I installed Windows 7 in native mode. All is work fine including an USB mobile center connection of PDA MIO DIGIWALKER 168.In another partition in the same PC, Windows Vista Business is installed for > 1 year, including mobile center + .... PDA MIO DIGIWALKER 168 access and map upgrading functions. Again, all is working fine.I now finally wants to upgrade the Windows Vista to Windows 7. Upgrade advisor reports a clean upgrade environment but when actually upgrading Vista the install procedure stopped because it founds untested not compatible MIO DIGIWALKER software. This software and/or those entries must be removed first because upgrade isn't possible as long as the MIO entries wherever they are located can be found by the INSTALL procedure scripts.I removed already many MIO DIGIWALKER related entries in the register. I checked if nothing is left behind in the configuration file (control panel) but the problem always comes back: When the advisor is again launched in online mode it detects MIO DIGIWALKER USB SYNC immediately and exits. This untested incompatible software must be upgraded or uninstalled first.  The same mobile center software works fine in Windows 7 / Windows Vista native!Any idea how to find the blocking entries is really welcome. Is it not the entries but a software blocking the Windows 7 installation? Is it because themobile center software in Vista is maybe not the same in Vista as in 777? Â

Unknown USB Device When Connecting Samsung F480 Phone
My Samsung F480 mobile phone is not recognized as a working usb device when I connect it to my laptop. I'm running Windows 7, and all my other usb devices work perfectly, except this one. I have downloaded and installed the appropriate driver package and software (updated as well) over and over, but everytime to the same effect. The usb driver from Samsung does not seem to work under Windows 7, but used to work in Vista.

Icons In Device Manager Issue After Installation Of USB Device Drivers
We had a (small) issue when installing our USB device driver on Windows 7 RC. I downloaded the newest WDK, created and signed with Authenticode a new cat file including the new OS, and built a simple installer for installing the drivers. We used the recommended functions like CryptCATAdminAcquireContext, CryptCATAdminAddCatalog, CryptCATAdminReleaseCatalogContext and CryptCATAdminReleaseContext as well as SetupCopyOEMInf. We created a new device class and therefore the drivers appeared in the device manager as "unknown devices". We added the registry keys for displaying the mini icon for "USB devices". This worked pretty well on Vista64. Using the same installer script on Windows 7 (64-bit) still showed the "unknown devices" in the device manager. As we have to prepare now our installers to be compatible with Windows 7 and we need to know if this is a bug or if there exists a workaround.

Hidden Device In Device Manager Blocking Upgrade
When running a Windows 7 RC1 UPGRADE installation (From Vista Business), everything went well until (as far as I could tell) the final boot into the new OS. A BSOD restart occurred twice, and the system then reverted back to Vista (Props to Microsoft for that - there was was a time when this kind of error would have left me with a dead computer). I tried it again the next day, but this time a Windows 7 Upgrade Update was available, and the system would not allow the upgraded due to an "HP USB Sync" incompatible driver. It was suggested that I upgrade this driver.

NVidia Mobile Graphics Drivers
Is there anybody with a running Win7 64 Version of nVidias official Mobile drivers? Trying different officially not supported drivers (laptopvideo2go, Vista64, modded INF) did not help. This happens each time, I use a different driver than the standart driver, which does not recognize my card correctly: The First Bootscreen apprears ("Starting WIndows"), than, instead of the Login-Screen, the Laptop reboots, without Bluescreen or anything, just like a power disruption. Safe Mode is no problem.

HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor
I have a HP laptop running Windows 7 RC, When I first installed Windows 7 Beta, it downloaded the driver through Windows Update. It never worked properly but I guess thats why they call it a Beta. But anyway, When I done a clean install of the RC. No driver for the HP Data sensor came down. I looked into it (It shows up in Device Manager as "Unknown Device", has the Hardware ID of HPQ0004). I found Windows Update Cateolog, Nothing. There is only a driver for Windows XP. I was wondering, has it been taken off (Since I got it through Windows Update in the Beta?) I have found a Vista driver but it does not work. The Windows XP driver does not work either. Can anyone help me find the driver?

Huawei E156g Mobile Modem Freezes
Huawei e156g Mobile Broadband USB Stick HP Pavilion dv7 2070ea Windows 7 Professional 64bit The laptop came preinstalled with Vista Home 64bit and i was able to use the mobile broadband without any issues. I have installed Windows 7 Pro 64 in a dual boot config and it runs fine on wired or wireless connections, but when i try to use the mobile broadband i run into issues. After the modem driver and software install and a few restarts I was able to get all the devices in the device manager to be happy, and i was able to connect via the 3 Connect software and access the internet. But after a few minutes Windows will inevitably lock up, regardless of what program is being used. The screen will freeze, there will be zero harddrive activity and the only course of action is to hold down the power button The mobile broadbands company site says that the vista drivers should be happy on windows 7, but something isnt happy. I really need to resolve this as my mobile broadband allows me to connect to various servers for work via its allowed IP address. Is this the modem, the USB bus or something else? I have checked the event log and there isnt anything useful in there.

Mobile Intel 945GM Express Drivers
Hey fellas, I have a laptop with a Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset family and have just installed the lates drivers from Microsoft for Windows 7 RC, although Intel seemingly don't have official Windows 7 drivers for this chipset yet on their site. The WINDOWS UPDATE iNTEL GRAPHICS drivers still suffer the same problem as the Intel drivers had when I had Vista, namely the kernel mode system file preventing windows going to sleep, this still happens in Windows 7. Intel clearly aren't awake here are they? I mean they haven't even addressed that bug in thier vista drivers yet after nearly 2 years, shocking from a company like Intel Eh?  Anyone else think so to?

HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor (accelerometer)
I installed win7pro x64 yesterday and already came across a serious problem that makes my way of using the notebook a bit dangerous for my precious data. When I was working on HP-branded Vista 32bit (that my laptop came with), there was a device called HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor together with HP ProtectSmart (or Protect Smart) software. In other words, the HDD accelerometer that parks HDD's heads when it "feels" it's falling or shaking, and software for it. It worked brilliantly. Until I decided to install Win7... Then, surprisingly after a driver-install failure and taking a look at the Device Manager I noticed that there's no such device! I checked it three times, looked at every device's property, even reinstalled Vista 32bit back - it was back again - and installed Win7 - not detected again. There's nothing that has Device ID HPQ0004! I remember people saying that after fresh Windows Vista install, they had 6 unknown devices (or more). I had only 5. [Fingerprint device, 3x MemCard reader and IR receiver]. There was no accelerometer... Also, when I try to install the drivers/software, the windows pops up: ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection: with text Property.AccelerometerNotPresent and then another one saying something like Features were not installed because of installation error or unsupported feature. So now I'm stuck with a notebook that is unsafe to travel with, because the disk is no longer protected. I already installed all the drivers available from HP page, even downloaded newest ones from Intel (chipset) etc. Is there a solution to this? Has anyone else encountered this problem? When I tried to add that device manually, through the non-PnP device driver install, it resulted in BSOD (which then continued to appear even in Safe Mode).

Mobile Standalone Emulator Cannot Access Network
I need to demo an app on the WinMO 6.1 emulator, but I cannot get the WinMo emulator to connect to the network under W7. It reports that it cannot find the virtual network driver and to make sure the VPC 2007 is installed. But VPC 2007 is incompatible with W7 virtualisation and will not install. It seems the WinMo emulator is based on some kind of virtual machine that is looking for VPC 2007 drivers. Any suggestions?

Intel 945 Mobile Family Compatibility
I've been trying to find out everywhere to see if my graphics card is capable of Windows 7. I'm having a real hard time. My card is Intel 945 Mobile Family. My brother installed Windows 7 and his card was outdated so now everything is "blurry" and not nice looking. He couldn't downgrade so he bought a Mac. So yeah, I'd try it out on my computer if I could fork out 1k to get a new computer, but I simply can't. The windows update advisor says that my graphics adapter isn't "supported" with Windows Aero. The requirements state that it needs 128MB, which I believe I have 256. It's getting annoying that the Windows Advisor says that it's not supported, yet Best Buy is selling my same exact computer with Windows 7 with the same graphics card. I'm conflicted; I don't want to mess up my computer, yet I want Windows 7.

NVIDIA Driver - Convert From Desktop To Mobile (Laptop)
Alright ladies and gentleman. I've decided to make a tutorial for getting the latest desktop drivers for NVIDIA laptop models to work well for you. Here's how to proceed. This is for x86. x64 is slightly more difficult due to driver signing enforcement. You can try to permanently disable this "feature" of Windows 7 x64 by searching Google. Please do not ask me how as I do not use x64 and don't know. But there is a way. If you can't find it, for x64, you will have to use f8 or similar key to start the machine each time. 1) Download the latest desktop driver for Windows 7 and the card that is closest to yours from NVIDIA's website. 2) Extract the installer to C:NVIDIA - Close installer after extraction. It is not needed now any longer. 3) Find NV_DISP.inf and open it in notepad. 4) Look at the models of cards listed. Choose to edit one that is closest to yours. 5) Open device manager. Right click on standard vga or your video card and choose properties. Details tab. Change drop down to hardware ids. The second line down is of interest here. 6) In the .inf, scroll to the bottom [Strings] section. Again, look for most similar desktop model. Change the beginning part to match what you found in last step 5. For example: NVIDIA_DEV.0421.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT" and you have 8400M GT, change it to NVIDIA_DEV.0426.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT" 7) Now look up higher in the .inf and search for the number you edited. In this case, "0421" will lead you to this line: %NVIDIA_DEV.0421.01% = Section010, PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0421 8) In this line, edit like this and add your particular string from step 5: %NVIDIA_DEV.0426.01% = Section010, PCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0426&SUBSYS_9016104D Note the changes made between step 7 and this in red. Do similar for your particular hardware string. 9) Save the .inf (ctrl+s) 10) Right click on standard vga in device manager. Click update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick from a list. Have disk. Browse. Find the .inf you just edited and double click on it. Hit ok so it installs. 11) Reboot and rerun the .exe from step 1 until completion, to install the NVIDIA control panel.

It then uninstalls the driver and says "setup was interrupted and not completed. To install at a later date run setup again." The exilim is not connected to the computer currently in any way. I have tried 3 different compatibility modes including xp sp2, vista and 2000. I have selected run as admin for each.
