SCCM SP1 Client - Config Mgr Icon - Run Advert Programs Icon

I have SCCM SP1 Client installed on my Windows 7 Enterprise PC. Normally the "Configuration Manager" Icon and the "Run Advertised Programs" Icon display in Add/Remove Programs or in the case of Windows 7, "Programs and Features".

These icons are not visible in "Programs and Features" although the SCCM Client ccmsetup.log says the SCCM client was successfully installed. Is this a glitch or are these icons now displayed elsewhere?

Shortcut Icon On Desktop Changed To Unknown Icon
This has been a problem in Vista also. When I add a shortcut to any network connection onto the desktop, either after a refresh, or several reboots, the original icon would turn to the unknown icon.

Programs Pinned To Taskbar, Loose Their Icon
I have Windows 7 RC installed on two different computers and this has happened on both.

I'll install a program I use a lot, pin it to the taskbar and some of the icons will lose their original icon after awhile. It doesn't seem to effect the operation of the program or the shortcut to the program, it's just sort of annoying to have to curse over the pinned program to know what it is, instead of just being able to tell by its icon. The programs this happens to are not the same from machine to machine, either. If that makes sense.

Has anyone else come across this and were you able to remedy the issue?

Large Icon Option In Start Menu Do Not Apply To All Programs
Start menu customization allows for large icon mode yet doesn't apply to all programs. If you want us to get used to this new thing while 'stealing' classic from us at least make it readable.

Please apply large icons to all Start Menu entries, if selected.

ACT 5.5 Inventory Collector DHCP Won't Run On XP Client
I'm trying to install the inventory collector DCP from ACT 5.5 to a Windows XP Professional SP3 client computer (P4 3GHz 1GB ram) which is used as a school library computer. It has .NET 1.1, 2.0SP2, 3.0SP2, 3.5SP1 and a whole bunch of other software.

The DCP will install and then a moment later it would uninstall itself and nothing is collected. The app event logs shows several errors:

There is a software called "Microsoft Compression Client Pack 1.0 for Windows XP" in the Add/Remove programs that I suspect maybe causing a problem but I cannot uninstall any software from this PC as it's being used in the library.

I'm trying to get another PC to clone it and then try it out.

Network Icon
I completed an upgrade from XP to Windows 7 Home Premium. I have seen articles stating that there should be by default a Vista style network icon in the notification area. My install has no such icon. On XP I could go to network and click/check "Display Icon". How can I add the network icon, what am I doing wrong?

OK, so you know how in Vista, you can change the icon of Computer to look like a laptop instead of a desktop?

What happened to that icon in Windows 7? I went to the "customize icons" page, and it's not there! Boo! I've got a laptop, and I want the laptop icon!

Any chance someone can upload it?

Network Icon Status
The reason for my post is that the status indication is all screwed up on one the two clients I upgraded from XP to W7.

One client has a yellow exclamation mark and indicates there is no Internet. There is of course.
The other client does not have the exclamation mark and indicates there is Internet.

Both clients are connected to Small Business Server 2003 SP1!

I also am in support of having the netwerk icon be an indicator of traffic moving through.

Network Icon Missing
Every time after I install an anti-virus program my network icon goes missing, I can't switch it on also under the customize screen, option is grayed out. It does the same thing with AVG and Kaspersky. It is doing this with build 7048 and 7057, but not on 7022!

Can anyone help me on this one?

Network Icon Change
There is a nice range of icons for windows 7, but there were a few that I really liked in windows vista ultimate that I don't seem to be able to find.

One of which that I can remember is the network icon, in vista you could right click, change icon... and I remember being able to select an network icon that was like two monitors stacked on top of each other creating 4 montiors total, and at the bottom was just like any other vista-windows 7 network icon, a connector tube.

I am unable to find this icon to change the desktop icon for "network" in windows 7, does anyone know the icon I am talking about, and any way to download or obtain it in some other way to use?

Network Icon Lights
im a bit disappointed by the way in which the network icon works in Windows Vista. Before in windows XP the lights would only flash when there was traffic flowing through, but the new version in Vista flashes randomly....looking more cartoony with its 'turn on animation' function.

The Windows XP lights were far more accurate and was helpful in identifying whether any traffic was actually passing through if one was left with a blank screen that says buffering on WMP. Please Microsoft, bring back the flashing network lights, like you had in windows XP!
